Danrarbc
They're finally removing the old radio control boat pond. And the chariots for the carousel are now being painted. IIRC the chariots were supposed to be the last thing they did. https://www.facebook.com/share/14uk43DMtB/

There is supposed to be a carousel only Friday update in early March so we will hopefully get a status update then.

Saw that yesterday too. Lots of chatter on the FB page about it as well. It will make the coaster last longer and be more rideable for lots of people, as well as be more cost effective for the park in the long run, so overall I'm fine with it; but it will alter the feel of the ride. Curious to see how much they put in. Also, while I admit it was clearly a pipe dream at this point it does pretty much shut the door on any discussion of an RMC conversion for a long time. Danrarbc
I'm okay with there not being an RMC conversion if this fixes the severe rapid track wear problem AND they get new trains. Seriously those Gerstlauer trains on this intense of a ride aren't a good fit.
SteveStL
I just hope they install this new Titan track in all the necessary places, not cheap out in other words. There are plenty of 'rough' spots which would benefit from this track. I am happy they choose to do this, looking forward to the final results.
Danrarbc
Prowler is receiving about 400ft of Titan Track too. I'm guessing The Boss will get more than that but not sure how much more.

Danrarbc
I mean that's literally what Cedar Fair parks would do. Spread rides out a bit compared to Six Flags and invest in park improvements in between. The opening weekend reports out of Over Georgia are very positive with people saying that it's already picking up some of a Cedar Fair feel.

We haven't had a real investment since Evil Knievel (yes I still call it that ). I do agree a lot of those improvements would go a long way. I just hope CF gives us some love in the ride dept. In a positive note, sounds like the Titan Track is a step in the right direction for Boss. Unfortunately, as mentioned, that bangs our chances for a full RMC conversion for certain. F Covid........ Wonder if they'd relocate the RMC Raptor from CGA in our TIdal Wave plot or something?
SteveStL
With the pending closures/sale of the smaller parks (or whatever type of park getting the axe), I would imagine we would inherit a flat ride or two, maybe a coaster. Six Flags America ... maybe they will bring back Iron Wolf back to the Midwest.

bert425
is the restraint a lap bar (single T restraint across both seats) and not an individual restraint? if yes, then, yes, going up to 48"

Fortunately the ride op at panel (a very observant former ride op that lives in my house) saw it and immediately e-stopped the ride. True story I swear and yes I just happened to be in line when that went down. Thankfully the kid was fine. While it sucks to have to raise the height limit, there is a safety precedent for it. The good news, however, is that Rookie Racer only has a 36" height limit so the younger kids have that! And it's really a very fun little junior coaster with a two lap cycle.

I'm not sure why the SFStL Mine Train doesn't have the bench inserts and contoured bar like Dahlonega or Runaway. They'd be harder to squirm out of I'd think. 5 hours ago, bert425 said: is the restraint a lap bar (single T restraint across both seats) and not an individual restraint? if yes, then, yes, going up to 48" PS: Road Runner Express doesn't have a T-Bar.
