prozach626
^I'm not trying to be argumentative, but I don't understand why you think that we'd get the first I-Box/wooden original or why you would be so sure of that? Unless there's something you know than we don't, your conclusion is more of a guess. Exactly, it is. Thats what is was meant to be. Im just saying it would make more since for it to be a hybrid don't you agree? I mean yeah, it would be really cool, but I just don't see it happening. Vonni
Seems like Six Flags is wasting no time putting up decor for Fright Fest this year! Also heard the Headless Horseman is in his place This could also be just an ad/promo for it but still cool! Can't wait for this year. Where is this located in the park? RCT3Bross
The announcements for all 2016 Six Flags additions is one month from today on September 3. Would you like to add a source to that. Because since 2012 they always went for the last thursday of August 30th of August 2012: Six Flags 2013 announcements. 19th of August 2013: Six Flags 2014 announcements. 28th of August 2014: Six Flags 2015 announcements. So I was guessing they would did the 2016 announcements on 27th of August. But hen again if you have a Source that would bring a other light on it. Mertens S. Elias
I heard a rumor saying that in 2016 Six Flags Over Mid America will be getting a new waterslide/slide complex. I was really hoping they were going to be the park that gets the Six Flags trademark "Titan" and it was going to be a hyper coaster of sorts or a Eurofighter/infinity coaster. Or even the park that got the trademark "Gale Force 7" which would be what Six Flags have been looking into for getting instead of Larson Super Loops, they will be, as I heard, giant models of the Zamperla Air Race and they will want the tower essentially telescope like Chance Aviators so the ride would be like riding on a Gerstlauer Sky Roller. Ah, I see that I'm not the only one who reads Screamscape... Also, Six Flags Over Mid-America is now Six Flags St. Louis. HWFAN - Not sure if you are in the "Know" or not, I do enjoy reading your posts and appreciate all the info you share on the board. I am very much on the side of Prozac. I have been going to this park for decades (Rode the S. Eagle in '76 (I was 9), Rode the Jet Scream in '80, Rail Blazer, Sky Chuter, Mo Mo the Monster, Tiltmore Hotel, even Super Sports ... etc etc. I am a huge Amusement Park Fan, been to a lot of them - Disney (both coasts), Knotts, Busch Gardens(both), Cedar Point, KI, and so on. Anyway, it Is frustrating see other parks evolve, upgrade, renew, refurbish, redo while our park gets stale with Hand-Me-Downs from other Parks or new rides which add no value (that teacup water ride, whatever it's called - getting new Bumper Cars would have been a better choice). I do think Justice League is a Huge win for our park, too bad is it plagued with issues this year. You have been boasting about the future of our Park and I hope you are right. Guess time will tell. I am a firm believer in 'If You Build It They Will Come'. SFSTL needs a Modern Steel coaster in the worst way and until that happens I will be going to other Parks around the region/country. Might plan on my first trip to KK next year. RMC Is Building So I Am Going. OH MY GOD! YOU RODE JET SCREAM AND SKY CHUTER?! I was born in 2001 so I never got to ride either! Although my American History teacher says that she remembers all of them and she was even one of the first riders when Colossus opened.

I like the old Six Flags Over Mid America name better, it seems more dignified. And also it really shows it is one of the original Six Flags parks. Yeah the Park was hopping back in the late 70's/early 80's, all thanks to the Screamin' Eagle. I remember the $5 after 5 deal which was huge. I have some Newspaper clippings from back in those days (Media Day for Jet Scream), I will have to scan and post them.

Wish I could work Fright Fest this year You can't? Aw Hope you can make it next year! But this year there's a lot of dates for auditions for scare actors, more than last year I would say, so it's pretty exciting to think of what a massive cast of characters will be at the event this year hopefully
pkgdel5
^Prozach, I totally respect your choice to not visit the park until they add something that interests you, and I agree that the chances of a large steel coaster coming our way soon are very low. However (and this isn't just directed at you), just because a new dark ride doesn't interest you doesn't mean our park is "neglected". Justice League had to have cost around $10-15 million, which is no small amount. It's obvious SFSTL is trying to transform into a family park, and not a giant thrill park, like SFMM. Would I love a giant new hyper RMC? Of course, but that doesn't seem to be the direction the park is headed. (Oh, and while it really doesn't compare to rides like Spider-Man at IoA (IMHO), JLBFM is BY FAR the best dark ride in the Midwest, so at least SFSTL has that going for them.) I agree with you, JLBFM is the best dark ride in the MidWest. My kids and I love it! As far as SFSTL heading in the diection of being a "Family park"...I have mixed feelings. My kids ( ages 18 to 6) and I had the chance to finally ride Goliath (SFGA) and OutLaw Run (SDC) this year. OMG....LOVED them both! Would LOVE to see an "Iron Boss" after these experiences! But the the other important thing to me besides thrills is my 2 younger sons (one FINALLY hit 54" this year) being able to ride. When we visited SFGA (New Jersey), SFOG (Atlanta) and SFGA (all with in the last 2 years) my younger two were "limited" to the "main attraction" rides....which is what we mainly ride. One thing I appreciate about SFSL is my kids being able to ride more at 48". With all that being said, the design of these new coaster trains/restraints, has allowed those 48" to ride now instead of being 54" which is awesome! PKI Jizzman
Hey everyone...interesting discussion here. I'll have to read up on the past 10 pages or so when I get a chance. I'm visiting Monday the 7th (Labor Day) since it's closed the Friday before. I'm just hitting it on the way to/from SDC, but plan on a full day that Monday. Honestly besides Justice League and Mr. Freeze (A fantastic, fantastic coaster IMO) I'm excited to visit the park because it does look like it will take me back to the late 90's/early 2000's. Just seems like it has been frozen in time besides the addition of Justice League. What's the plan of attack for this park? Probably Boomerang first, right? Anyone else been to the park during Labor Day? Any tips on line lengths/where to sit/ where to eat outside the park, etc will be appreciated. Looks like we have some locals that could really help me out! Thanks again in advanced for the help. -Zach

ChrisGraslie
Don't wanna go into this stuff again but it was just on my mind. This year, it will have been 14 years since the rumor mill of a hyper coaster began, and all these years literally nothing has happened in terms of dev elopement besides us almost getting one, until it went to SFOG in 2006 Other than that, ever since then people have been dying to see it happen, and I don't blame them. 14 years of anticipation for a coaster is a super long time, and all I'm saying is I really hope someone at the park has known about this want as long and maybe, just maybe we've got something coming in the next couple years. Statements like these have been repeated so many times that it's become one of the most redundant things in probably the entire Theme Park Industry, but I've still got a little glimmer of hope, especially how the park is improving so vastly from year to year If they were to announce, say something on the lines of like a Fury 325 at Carowinds, I think we'd all collectively lose our sh*t, and in a good way of course But I do think if the park wants to take a few more years to splatter some paint around and give the park that extra bit of 'magic' before they lay down a huge new coaster as the crowning jewel, I say go ahead. All of their new additions in the past 5 years I think have been exceptional (with the exception of Boomerang, but hell, they made that ride look pretty good IMO. But looks are deceiving. ) So no matter what comes out when they release the New For 2016 attractions, as long as it's not something utterly terrible (keep those Larson Loops at least 1,000,000 miles away from me at all time please), I'm still gonna check it out, because at least they know what they do, and more than likely have a vision for the next 5 years, and the way things are looking, it sure seems like it

When I went last month Boomerang and JL:BFM had like equivalent lines I don't see what the general public sees in that ride honestly I mean there has to be some word of mouth of how painful and unenjoyable it is wouldn't you think? PhantomPoster32
Unless they add something major next year, I'm not even sure I'll bother with visiting the park next year. Went on Tuesday and the park just feels run down. Broken attractions and just a lot of "scars" from things that used to be in places and closed buildings. I guess there's a reason that I'd already visited 5 SF parks prior to this visit and SFSTL is the closest to me.
