Hmmmmmmm. I could be over thinking this, but it just doesn't seem safe to be launching a coaster through a pane of glass. For that matter just launching off the end of track could be dangerous. I've tried this on RCT to less than optimal results. People didn't seem to want to ride after the first cycle. Is there some sort of air bag that stops the train somewhere? Perhaps ride parameters are a bit different over there in the Emirates? Furthermore, I know I can punch right through dry wall, but it could be quite painful to ride a coaster train through it. Especially in the front row. And the crew is gonna have to work hard to replace both glass and drywall after every cycle. They're probably going to have to hire a construction crew to do that exclusively all day long. And what if someone on those crews call in sick for the day, will they just shut down the ride, or run it without the drywall and glass? I know I would want the whole experience if I were to ride.

Just my 2 cents.

^lol

I wonder if each cycle on the shuttle coaster will be only one run as there isn't (or it doesn't look like there will be) a second spike so that the ride can go backwards and forward several times.

I believe this will work like Superman Escape From Krypton. And by the look of it, it's going to have a double station.

By the way, thank you so much dubaidave for the pictures!!

So for those of you that are not interested in Formula One this weekend was the annual Adu Dhabi Grand Prix so naturally Ferrari sent their 2 star drivers, Kimi Räikkönen and Sebastian Vettel to Ferrari World to ride Formula Rossa.

Click here to see them riding the worlds fastest roller coaster and tell me if you could keep a straight face like Kimi does.

Kimi Räikkönen wouldn't make a good celebrity guest star on a Theme Park Review rider cam video.

Talking about the creativity of Intamin, here is their latest innovation...

We've seen better days! Same concept, almost same elements and even same colors as S&S's! Kudos for the NL1 render with photoshopped supports, too.

Such amazing originality....

or a TV show like insane coaster wars

I hope what they do for the shuttle coaster is to launch it up the "hole" where the drop tower used to be. That could make for a pretty bad-ass ride!

To my understanding, that's the plan.

I dont know. Imagine Kimi in one seat then Robb in the other, I would love to see that.

Browsing the web, I found pictures of the SFX's tilt piece... and OH MY, this is huge!

For the reminder, it's the white piece in the background, far right:

And here it is for real... Factory mockup I guess.

See it in motion at 1:07 into this video:

That tilt track looks incredible! I'd imagine that's what the one in Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts looks like underneath all of the theming and darkness.

Another look at that tilting piece... Not only it's huge, but holy wow it's FAST as well! At 0:38 and 1:33.
