Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said

Recommended Posts

Not a GP comment in the same vein as others, but I recently had a parents' friend "lecture" me on how coasters are just kids' stuff and I should have more "adult" hobbies now. Like photography. That was his suggestion (not that there's anything wrong with photography).

Has anyone else had conversations like this?

Some sort of this. I often need to hear from family to stop with this hobby and find something normal boys my age have interest for. Of course I say to them that no way in the world I quit this wonderful hobby.

I guess I never get them to understand how I look at coasters.

This gem comes from a coworker. She was going to SFMM for the first time since X became X2. I tried to explain to her how it's the old ride improved.

She said:

"No, it's not. It's a completely different ride. Don't talk about s@#$ when you don't know what the hell you're talking about. You make yourself sound like an asshole."

She was then my manager.

Oh, to see her face when she found out it WAS the same ride... Of course, she never admitted she was wrong. She still called me out for being "full of @#$%". Baha!

Hah, I had some drunk guy in a Monster Energy shirt at SFNE tell me to turn my Hour of Penance shirt inside out because he "didn't want his kids seeing that ****". When I told him that being drunk and cursing around his kids was setting a wonderful example, he started swearing at me and invited me to fight him; when I walked away, he kept screaming in my direction until I was practically out of sight. Stay classy, Pioneer Valley.

Ugh...why would you go to a park with someone like that?!?! But then again, it was SFMM...

I hope you reported this idiot to park security! Maybe getting kicked out of the park could have taught his kids how not to act in public!

I never admit when I'm wrong either....Especially when I know I am.

Hmm, still sounds better than my mental image of SFNE

A couple weeks back i was on Pandemonium at SFFT and something happened, we were stopped on the end course breaks and we kept spinning. These two guys I was on with started freaking out because it wouldn't stop spinning and kept yelling at the ride ops to make it stop. Eventually one guy couldn't take it and pushed himself out of the car even thought the operators kept telling him not to, I'm pretty sure he got escorted out of the park. I kept wanting to tell them that they couldn't stop it from spinning, I guess that's the GP for you.

-Some guy tried using someone else's season pass to get into SFMM...when the attendant at the gate informed him that the pass was someone else's pass, he asks "You mean, I can't use someone else's pass?"

-Disneyland, little kid (maybe 8 or 9) asks their parent: "Mommy, is that horse real?" Don't question what's real or not in Disney...everything's real in my book (And yes the horses are real!)

SFNE is generally a 50/50 split between decent people (college kids and most of the out-of-staters) and less-than-decent people (entitled rich douchebags from Longmeadow and future Springer guests from Greenfield, Holyoke, Chicopee, Westfield, and Springfield). It's nowhere near as bad as SFA, but I've dealt with some shining examples of humanity there over the years. The Pioneer Valley in general is just a really scummy area with a pair of fairly nice small cities in the form of Amherst and Northampton standing as islands in a sea of hick towns, dilapidated former mill towns, and larger cities that make Lynn and Fitchburg look nice by comparison.

Actually SFA is not like that anymore. I go all the time.

Friend of mine who used to work at the front entrance of SFMM said that people would try and get in with fake or stolen season passes all the time and would react in a hilariously over-the-top manner whenever called on it.

I couldn't stand those people! There was no doubt they were full of crap, but they would just go on and on about how they were allowed to use it.

He was pretty tall guy, he barely fit in the car anyways. There had to be like 4 to 6 of space between him and the lap bar.

A classmate of mine the other day said this beauty....."No Sean, the Northeast can't have better coasters than SoCal, the coasters here are better because they're in California and we're awesome because we're Californians."

So geography makes a difference in the quality of a ride?

I want to date this girl......

I don't know if we have a single coaster that is the caliber of the likes of Maverick, Bizarro (SFNE), or even Boulder Dash.

Manta might just be the best coaster on the West Coast.
