robbalvey Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 ^ Going up fast! Has anyone been by the site of HRP lately? Curious to know what's left and how many of the buildings they've torn down.
Gutterflower Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 It looks great! Fresh new paint job as well. Certainly will be a better landing spot than Hard Rock. Have there been any plans released for the rest of the park? Funny you should say that. Just found this.
Gutterflower Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 Looks like the ride is finished. Check out this awesome drone footage from the now finished ride.
robbalvey Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 I love that they are even rebuilding the Zeppelin shell! lol I wonder if we'll see that entire blimp theming get installed as well?
BDG Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 There's a very big tower going up at Ocean Park, Vietnam close to the old Led Zeppelin coaster. I have NO idea what it is for though. Apparently it's for a cable car over the bay. The tower near the park (your photo) will actually be a whopping 188.8 m tall when it's finished. Yeah, that's right, it's not finished yet. As huge as it already looks in your photo, they're only up to 123 m. There's another 50% to go. There will also be a tower on the other side of the bay, that one will be 133 m. Some maps: A photo of the location, with both towers visible: The ferris wheel could look like this: (two slightly different artworks, not sure which one is the final design) sources: Facebook-page of the cable car & Skyscrapercity
JonnyRCT3 Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 Based upon the rendering, that tower is currently 403' tall , which is a few feet shy of Dragster. It really puts it into perspective how truly massive that coaster is.
TyRush Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 That's so cool. Cable car over the bay. People from the other side can come across, rode the coaster, then go back home. They're already doing better marketing than Hard Rock!
coasterfreak101 Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 Wait, so the cable car is hanging 600 feet in the air? Count me out.
Cyrbuzz Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 That sure is a big structure for a cable car ride. I wonder how big the cars themselves will be to need such a hearty structure?
DoinItForTheFame Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 Wait, so the cable car is hanging 600 feet in the air? Count me out. I'm with you on this one. There is no way you will get me into a cable car that is dangling 600ft in the air. Nope. No way.
rcjp Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 ^I actually think it'll be awesome! The view must be great
Gutterflower Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 We dont have a thread for Ocean Park but this one houses most of the news from the park anyway. The Vekoma SFC and Rollerskater are now on site too.
RyanTPM Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 ^Haven't seen an update on that park in quite a while. so thanks for posting those
larrygator Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 (edited) ^^Thanks for the reminder It spurred me to create this thread for Ocean Park and I will also create a thread for the coasters going to Asia Park sometime this week Edited April 3, 2016 by larrygator
Golddisk Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Overall it looks like a decent park. That is a very high cable car ride - I imagine it was quite expensive to build, too. Kind of surprising to put that much money into a cable car type ride if you ask me.
Gutterflower Posted April 10, 2016 Posted April 10, 2016 Another update as the Vekoma Suspended Family Coaster goes vertical and the water park nears completion.
Gutterflower Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Looks good. Who owns this park? I'm unsure of the name of the company but they also own Asian Park in Da Nang. Some more from the park as the coasters go up
Henry M Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 How do you get your hands on those amazing pics, gutterfish?
A.J. Posted April 17, 2016 Posted April 17, 2016 There's a very big tower going up at Ocean Park, Vietnam close to the old Led Zeppelin coaster. I have NO idea what it is for though. Isn't there some crazy gondola / cable car system being built?
Nrthwnd Posted April 17, 2016 Posted April 17, 2016 ^ Yes, it is for a gondola ride. Something like 600 ft. up there?
KBrylczyk Posted April 17, 2016 Posted April 17, 2016 ^ Damn. I was hoping for it to be a SCAD tower.
Nrthwnd Posted April 17, 2016 Posted April 17, 2016 ^ Yep. Me too. EDIT: The old Max RPM coaster still looks wierd, to me. This. Times...3? ... Sky Tower in Tivoli Friheden, Denmark. TPR 2014 Scandi Tour.
