RMC single rail coaster at Silverwood?

Recommended Posts

Some folks over at Roller Coaster Alley are speculating that RMC could build the prototype of their T-rex concept single rail roller coaster at Silverwood Theme Park in Athol, Idaho. Not only is Silverwood less than 15 minutes from RMC headquarters in Hayden, Idaho, but they started clearing a large tract of land over the fall and winter in anticipation of a massive park expansion.

There was another thread talking about this before, may have been Silverwood's official one. I have to say that it sounds plausible.

In 2012 Silverwood announced that they had something big in the works scheduled to open in 2015 that would double the size of the park but they never said what. Soon after they started clearing land near the old runway. 2015 came and went and Silverwood is still clearing land.

Well if Coaster Alley says it then that means it's guaranteed to happen!!

It's just speculation at this point. When they first started clearing the land the speculation was a launched RMC woodie. But in 2014 RMC announced the first launched RMC was going to Dollywood and the speculation stopped. Then the single rail concept was revealed and the theories started anew.

When they first started clearing the land the speculation was a new RMC woodie or hybrid. Then the single rail concept was revealed and the theories started anew.

We need some pictures of that dirt so that we can analyze whether it's RMC dirt, or if it's a different kind of dirt.

Holy crap, a Proboards site?!

This is the real deal, I tell you. RMC Confimed!

I would really take this with a grain of salt. The poster is basically saying that if a coaster company is near a park, then it's a no-brainer for a park to purchase something from them. Well, I don't see Knoebel's GCI yet, so I'd say that this logic is flawed.

Could it happen? Maybe. Do we have suffecient evidence to say they're getting an RMC (Until we see pictures of that dirt)? Absolutely not.

If this is true, I will most definitely be getting back out there for another haunt event. The train ride is pretty freaking cool and the night rides on timber terror, tremors, and the new RMC would be very much worth the trip out.

I'm not saying that at all. RMC has a long and friendly relationship with Silverwood as the company got it's start as the construction company that installed and maintains all of the roller coasters at Silverwood as well as having built their water park. RMC has long said that they want to work with Silverwood on a project but have yet to find the right one.

Because I am not very familiar with Silverwood... Do you have any sources for this relationship RMC has with Silverwood?? Or do you have a source (Maybe a video, or an article that's not on a random proboards site) where RMC states they want to "work with Silverwood on a project but have yet to find the right one??"

Like I said, I am not that familiar with Silverwood so I'm curious as to where this information about RMC's history with Silverwood comes from.

^They built most of the park

They have tested topper track at Silverwood and collaborated on numerous projects with them including the ones who disassembled, transported, and put the GIB together (and it works waaay better than it ever did at a previous operator!) So *if* anything is currently going on between them, I wouldn't at all be surprised.

Actually, I believe that Silverwood allowed RMC to test their Topper track on a section of a coaster. I believe that they also constructed Aftershock. I remember watching a video, but forgot where it is.

It's all just random speculation at this point. I'd love to see an RMC at Silverwood, it's just that there is no strong evidence to support it. All there is at this point is that they're doing something, but with land clearing, you can't pin down an exact manufacturer and product.

Wouldn't RMC want to work with ANY park willing to PAY them? It is a dollar driven world ya know.

Maybe they should have tried their first launch there.

This is an experimental, new form of track and could need to be done as a "partner" with a park. Remember S&S did their first launch coaster on their own property (which they then sold to KD). Of course, "partner" doesn't mean "free" so the park would have to be interested enough.

RMC shows they repaired 2 wood coasters at Silverwood. They used to have a video on their site that showed a coaster with Topper track on one turn, I think it was one of them.

There have been MANY rumors over the past few years of the park working with RMC ranging from modifying one of their current coasters to something ground-up. I'll believe it only when we see teasers or any construction. It could be inevitable that sooner or later they collaborate for something, but it's really hard for me to go off of a rumor from someplace I've never heard of.

They still exist??? I had one of those like 10 years ago. I linked it to my Freewebs site, so bad-ass.

Angel-Fire was hosting it and the site is best when viewed with Netscape via a 56K modem connection.
