...one crazy ride, Tropical Storm

x 100

It's almost worth going just to experience this ride. I rode it last year to kill time while Rikki was off doing something else. One of the craziest flat rides I've ever been on.

I'll throw in another

I agree with everything he said, except I wasn't waiting for anyone named Rikki.

  • 2 weeks later...

No updates at all from the park. I'm steady checking their Facebook page and nothing. Lots of comments about why it hasn't opened yet but the park has not responded. A buddy was on vacation in Ocean City last week and saw it testing a bunch (and still screeching through the twists) but never saw it with riders.

They have been at work installing the Miler coaster, and if you notice are still building the stations/queues, so I'm thinking maybe they are just going to wait until that's all done, and open them both together?

Well this is disappointing. I'll put these two (3 as I won't make the trip) in the "just missed" category this year along with Lightning Rod and SFMM Green Lantern/New Revolution. I wish they didn't announce it as new for 2016 when they might miss the entire business season.

Maybe I'll make a 4th straight trip to Wildwood Ultimate next year.

Work on the Miler continues. Great photos courtesy of Great Adventure Connoisseurs group member Leo.

I know I'll probably get blasted for this, but that looks really ugly. Like Gale Force is such a good looking ride, but the Miler right on top of it looks straight up ratchet. I realize the park is strapped for space but the aesthetics are driving my OCD up the wall. End of rant.

I walked by Gale Force last night. Looks great. The color combination is perfect and it dwarfs everything around it. I'm excited to check it out when it opens.

It is really close to the neighboring houses/apartments/hotels so hopefully the noise issue is worked out.

There were a couple of guys in the station and climbing on the train. It looks like there is still quite a bit of work to be done on the station area, and they need to build a permanent fence on the street side. Currently you can walk right next to the track with no barrier.

While Gale Force looks like it going to be a ton of fun to ride, and I've enjoyed watching it go up, I've felt like it was ugly right from the announcement. The paintjob is fine but the layout and supports look like a 5 year old came up with it. The Miler only makes it worse. I still want to ride the sh*t out of it. In fact I'm getting exited to ride the Miler too.

I've never once been negative about the ride not opening. It is what it is, I was just giving an update.

Didn't mean to specifically jump on your case. Just seeing as both pieces of information were posted on top of each other on PCC's Facebook Page I thought it was fair to mention the good news, also.

The webcam seems to be working again and the Miler looks almost done. Cant tell if the station is done for it yet as its off-camera, but they've certainly gotten a lot completed around the Gale Force station. Maybe we do have hope for a brief 2016 opening.
