What do you want to see in your home park in 2015?

Recommended Posts

I thought it'd be fun to see what people want to see in their home park and than compare that with the announcements coming out most likely summer of 2014 and see if anyones wish was granted. With that being said state your home park(s) and what you'd like to see there and why. Try to make it a realistic wish.

Knotts: I'd love to see a thrill coaster put in. 2015 will be ELEVEN years since a thrill coaster was put in and I appreciate the family direction the park has been going, but eleven years is a very long time without a thrill coaster. I know rumors of a giga are still out there and I'd LOVE to see one and I don't see that being out of the question. If Magic Mountain doesn't go with a euro fighter I could see one at Knotts instead of a giga. Also a good flat in place of Windseeker (if they don't use that room for their new thrill coaster). I'd also be happy with a RMC re-tracking of Ghostrider as the layout is really good, but the ride is VERY rough.

Six Flags Magic Mountain: I'd love to see at least one side of Colossus get the Iron Horse treatment with or without an inversion is fine with me, but mainly I'd like a nice and high steep drop and continuous speed. Its not that its a bad ride, but its rather boring and seeing what the guys at RMC can do would make this ride a night and day difference. Where Deja Vu was I think would be a great spot for a euro fighter similar to Dare Devil Dive. Its not a crazy thrill ride and is good for kids wanting to brave to the next level in coasters. I'd also like to see a flat ride put in maybe like a Giant Frisbee as the park doesn't have a lot of flats.

Dorney: A GCI wooden coaster. It has been rumored since 2008 when the park got Possessed instead and after Hercules was removed, the park could use another wooden coaster besides Thunderhawk.

Great Adventure: An interactive dark ride. The park has enough coasters and added some flats/non coaster rides recently and a dark ride would help round out the park's collection of rides.

My home park is Canobie Lake Park, and... well, I've already been spoiled enough for Untamed not to care if they get anything for a while, but if they did (and they could squish it in there, since they are relatively cramped for space), I'd like to see them put in a junior coaster, preferrably a Vekoma Roller Skater, if only to bridge the gap between the pitfully small Dragon Coaster, and the larger thrills (Cannonball, Corkscrew, Untamed).

I wish Orbit would go back into operation in 2015 if it isn't operating in 2014, and I'd like to see East River Crawler get back to its old self and not a tamed-down version of itself. I would maybe like to see a themed Gerstlauer spinning coaster in Ragin' Cajun's place because I really miss Ragin' Cajun a lot.

If not what I mentioned above, then I'm not sure if I mentioned this already in the SFGAm thread, but I would like to see Orleans Place get converted into a DC Comics area. I mean there are already TWO New Orleans-themed areas, which I think is overkill. I would like the Rue Le Dodge moved to the County Fair section and replaced in the DC Comics area with a flat ride, like maybe a Zero Gravity/Round Up ride or something.

My homepark is Six Flags Mexico.

Of course, I'm very excited for the RMC treatment on Medusa, but I think the park REALLY needs a B&M or any Intamin coaster. The "best" manufacturer we have after RMC is Chance Morgan, which is great, but not as great as the two I just listed.

Hopefully!

Wait till you ride on Medusa and you will know that B&M is not as good. Intamin, maybe RMC is still not there. But RMC can definitely beat B&M

I would like to have a Chance Hyper Lite, but probably after knowing if it's as good as it looks like in KK.

The only US park I've been is SFFT, so I've ridden B&M and RMC Coasters, and yeah, I liked IRat more than I did Goliath or Superman, but would still be good to see that kind of coaster in my homepark.

Unfortunately, I haven't ridden an Intamin, and I'm dying to do it one day. Hopefully, in my home park.

Instead of the flat promised for Playland (PNE) in 2015,

I would love to see rather, a steel coaster that completely

encircles the park itself. And not that hard to do really.

The whole park is basically a rectangle in shape...

...with a coaster on it's side.

And the nasty rough old corkscrew at the back of the

park, torn down and replaced with an El Loco. Original

design or custom, like in Vegas. I'm good with either.

I want USH to redo the Jurassic Park ride. I doubt Potter will be open by the same year Marty McFly goes back to Hill Valley in the Future.

Iron Horse treatment for Colossus wouldn't be bad at SFMM, but I'd like to see the park fresh and clean before that happens.

Not really local, but I would love for Sea World SD to get a new coaster (Maybe a wingrider?)

At Waldameer, I know I'm going to see a huge wave pool larger than many of our nearby large water parks (bigger than Cedar Point, Sandcastle, and possibly Darien Lake) along with revamped changing facilities, more concession options, and luxuries like cabanas. However, what I want to see is our attendance projections to come true which is estimated to be an increase close to 20%. Putting that into perspective, Ravine Flyer II increased attendance by 20% and revenues by over 30% in 2008 and we haven't looked back as we have had all but one season beat 2008 since then. I can only imagine another 20% increase on top of what Ravine Flyer II brought us.

Challenge Accepted.

I'll do all the So Cal parks since I'd consider them all local parks.

Disneyland Resort: I'd like to see a major project underway for both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. I don't really care what the attractions are as long as they aren't just clones of something at another park and are actually new rides (not a redo of an existing attraction). I would also like to see no more admission increases until these projects are complete, but I feel that is far too wishful thinking.

Knott's Berry Farm: I'd like to see a replacement flat ride for Windseeker and a new dark ride for 2015, along with a partial/full retrack of GhostRider using Rocky Mountain's Topper Track. The layout is perfect the way it is, the ride just needs to be smoothed out a bit. I'd also like to see something new for Knott's Soak City.

LEGOLAND California: I'd like to see a copy of Polar X-plorer from LEGOLAND Billund with one or two small attractions to compliment it.

SeaWorld San Diego: I'd like to see a new version of Antarctica from SeaWorld Orlando, but with a more complete ride portion closer to what the original concept art shows of the attraction.

Six Flags Magic Mountain: I would like to see the park take a break from building new attractions and instead focus on upkeep of everything currently at the park. I would also like to see the park begin work on Iron Colossus and do the transformation well without destroying the original ride concept (aka 2 tracks that are designed for racing trains).

Universal Studios Hollywood: I would like to see construction accelerated to have Harry Potter Land open summer 2015.

Well i don't visit it that often anymore but i still consider The Efteling my home park.

It would be great if they started construction on their big new Darkride(Hartenhof) in 2015. in the meanwhile they can add some smaller things and upgrade some of their rides. Like they are doing to their Rapid River right now, that's a big maintenance job!

My homepark is Walibi Belgium because it's just a 30 minutes drive from my hometown so... Yes, I know it's not an outstanding park but in 2015 it's getting 40 years old. At least I hope they are going to build something major for that anniversary year because the last 'big' new attraction was Challenge of Tutankhamon in 2003. I heard some rumors that Bobbejaanland, only 45 minutes away from me, is going to build a new attraction in 2015 (they say a new roller coaster) so I think 2015 is going to be an interesting year .

BGT- I would love to see a RMC woodie or Intamin prefab replace Gwazi. With Kumba, Montu, SheiKra, and Cheetah Hunt, either one of those new additions would give BGT the best coaster lineup in the US.

SeaWorld- An Intamin mega would look great to go along with Kraken and Manta.

Universal- Keep doing what you're doing, adding new theming and rides to both sides.

WDW resort- I would love to see a lot of Marvel come to the parks, but with Universal that's not going to happen, so I'll take more Star Wars please.

Well I consider 5 parks as my home park. Since Houston does not have a real theme park but that could change.

Kemah Boardwalk - I love to see a custom El Loco but I could see them bringing in some unique flat rides.

Galveston Pier - change out a ride or two for something different. Not a whole lot of room to deal with.

SFOT - better park operations and a dark ride with A/C

SFFT - remove the old car ride and build a coaster

SeaWorld San Antonio - just build a new ride period. I swear this park is the step child of SeaWorld parks.
