The Knott's Berry Farm (KBF) Discussion Thread

P. 651: Montezooma's Revenge project terminated?

Recommended Posts

Curious. Last night the back-hoe was digging in the area immediate adjacent to the station platform, which I am convinced will remain and be reused. As you can see in the first picture it looks like the back-hoe is digging a trench of sorts around itself, leaving itself high an dry on an island of dirt. Now in daylight we can clearly see that the pile of crushed concrete is much smaller and there appears to be a bunch of it in the area that the back-hoe was digging, just inside the fence on the left side of the dark turned up dirt area. We can also clearly see that the right side of that dark turned up dirt area has been raised up leaving the pile of concrete in a sort of depression. I believe that we are beginning to see the first bits of construction rather than deconstruction.

If they leave the station; then we know that train size is limited by current platform width, so Dive Machine and anything else wider than two seats is out. Would we be down to one of the two new RMCs as coaster options at this point? The Aquatrax didn't look too bad but I don't see Cedar Fair or Six Flags theming anything as well as that previous video from Asia. With all that rockwork and tunnels; it looks more on a Disney or Univeral type attraction that relies too much on scenery to make a family coaster appear more exciting that it would be out in the open as a steel structure with no scenery.

^ For real.

I do take everything literally. I have no concept of sarcasm or jest.

First, he said major.

Second, the he said coaster.

Fireballs are neither major nor roller coasters.

Super Loops are great roller coasters. They have way more inversions than other roller coasters. Knott's should build a Larson Super Loop coaster.

Honestly, I'd be happy with an Infinity Coaster. Seems like the kind of thing that could pack a lot of thrills into that small footprint, and there aren't any Eurofighters / Infinity Coasters on the west coast.

An Infinity Coaster or Eurofighter wouldn't be the worst thing in the world, but it certainly doesn't have the wow factor that a dive or a hyper would. And yes, I've heard all the naysayers talk about how Knott's doesn't have room for a dive or a hyper, but they could fit one in if they wanted to (just look at Silver Bullet). I think that Boom's replacement has to be pretty large in scale due to them getting such an early start on construction. Also, they will need a shiny new ride to syphon off some of the masses that will descend on Star Wars land in 2019. If they build something that really stands out, it may convince some of the Disney-ites to spend a day at Knott's during their trip.

Guys, imagine the possibilities. Dueling super loops @ 7 loops each makes for 14 loops. They can interlock them. And can they crank those super loop coasters up to 8 loops a piece? Knotts would have the loopiest coaster on the planet! WORLDS FIRST.

Is it two credits though?

They should build dueling Super Loops since the last dueling coaster the park built didn't quite work out too well.

Call it: Windloopers

This whole thread has gone to hell with all the Super Loop talk. I would love Knott's to get a giga coaster, but it's just not a realistic expectation. A dive coaster could totally fit, especially if it goes over towards Ghost Town. A realistic addition could be an Intamin mega-lite, but if we're going with a renewed relationship with a manufacturer, my bet is on TOGO.

To be fair its better than incessant webcam screenshots that all look the same.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks they basically all look the same!
