cmullin Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 Everyone already said what I was going to say...good paint, bad ride. Took the words right out of my mouth
cal1br3tto Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 I really liked the previous purple and green color scheme, but the new one seems like a great update. Smuckers will discontinue the Knott's label on their jars of jellies. I will admit to having bought jam solely because of the Knott's Berry Farm label.
mr. cockblock Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 So when is Xcelerator's paint job going to get finished? I think they started painting the supports 4 years ago.
DougMJr Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 Hopefully Xcellerator will get some love within the next year. That would really be the icing on the cake after the improvements they are putting into that part of the park.
Wags Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 Yeah, not sure what to make of the Xcellerator's paint job... Too difficult to paint? Boomerang looks good. Did anyone else read the Orange County health inspection reports for the park's restaurants? PR disaster. They really need to evaluate their practices.
Double0Kevin Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 ^ I doubt that it's because it's too hard to paint. I'm sure it has to do more with the required downtime of the ride more than anything. Do you have link to these health inspection reports?
Wags Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 ^This page has links to the OC health inspections for ALL the food outlets -- even Dippin' Dots, which apparently had evidence of animals. http://ocdisneyblog.com/2013/01/03/a-look-at-knotts-berry-farms-restaurants-food-safety-record/
WFChris Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 EDIT: If you click the PDF you get the detailed reports. Just some gnats flying around the Dippin' Dots cart. No big deal.
MylesG4L Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 I was talking so much poop as they were painting boomerang "and I'm sure I'm not the only one", but I actually love it now that it's done
disney4me2001 Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 Yeah, I'll admit it too- I was skeptical about the choices for the new colors, but it looks good!
Wags Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 (edited) Check out this link for photos of Knott's spanning back to the 1930's: http://www.flickriver.com/groups/knotts/pool/interesting/ Cool stuff - construction of everything from the Independence Hall to the Sky Tower, Catawumpus, Knott's Bear-y Tales, Gypsy Camp, seals, elephants, tigers, and on and on... Edited March 3, 2013 by Wags
jray21 Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 Boomerang does look much better, but like everyone else said, it's still a Boomerang. Too bad about the Knott's name being removed. It's just a stupid label that really doesn't change anything, but it was a nice theme park reference to see when I went to Safeway.
MylesG4L Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 Welp, the surf glider ride is currently being made in Texas according to KBF's Facebook page.
MylesG4L Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 Knott's announced TMLR and the all new boardwalk/pier rides will open May 25th!
Koasterking48 Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 Any word on Windseeker? Is it close to opening?
Wingwright Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 Any word on Windseeker? Is it close to opening? I drove by Knott's on Saturday and saw the Windseeker swings sitting at the top of the tower. Not sure what that means...
XYZ Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 I drove by Knott's on Saturday and saw the Windseeker swings sitting at the top of the tower. Not sure what that means... It's better than the swings sitting at the bottom of the tower.
Crazy4Coasters! Posted March 4, 2013 Author Posted March 4, 2013 I still miss Boomerang's blue color. These new colors are very bright but I'm happy it got a new coat of paint. I thought I saw, on facebook, a picture of Windseeker with the water weight dummies onboard. Maybe they are doing some testing to hopefully get it up and running for the summer.
scbt Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 Meh, not really a fan of the color, but it is a improvement over the old colors.
boughtontroy Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 You heard Coast Rider, Pacific Scrambler, and Surfside Glider is going to be open on May 25th, 2013
MylesG4L Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 You heard Coast Rider, Pacific Scrambler, and Surfside Glider is going to be open on May 25th, 2013 Screamscape posted that Knott's confirmed it.
CoasterTimmy Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 Looks like they made a Evac system. For the Windseeker
