The Official WEST COAST BASH 2013 Thread!

Recommended Posts

^At SFMM, I'd guess the headliner rides will be 30-45 minutes, and at Knott's 15-30 minutes. While it is a weekend, most schools will be back in session by this time so it should not be too crowded (certainly not enough to require a Flash Pass or Fast Lane). If you mean during ERT, as a general rule there are few enough people that lines are kept below 15 minutes and often are only two or three trains.

Oh man if the headliners are just 30-45 this will be glorious!

Certain ones will most likely be more like X2, probably Tatsu and Green Lantern, and possibly Riddler's Revenge.

Note that the time estimates assume rides are being run reasonably well. If there are one train operations or significant stacking, lines could be longer. I just know that last time I visited SFMM on a non-WCB Saturday (although one in December), I was able to get on all the coasters and leave by 6 P.M. even though I left the park for lunch at a sit-down restaurant. If you're trying to get on everything with minimal waiting, I recommend ending ERT at Goliath and going counter-clockwise from there. Depending on what time lunch is at, you could probably do Colossus, Scream, Green Lantern, Batman, Riddler's, Gold Rusher, Apocalypse, Superman, Ninja, and maybe Tatsu before lunch. It may be tempting to go to X2 first, but that ride rarely opens on time and the line will drop mid-afternoon (usually to below 30 minutes), plus Green Lantern and Superman have terrible capacity.

This sounds like a good plan. I was almost thinking the exact same thing.

Just got tickets for myself and a friend! Also my ClubTPR membership! This will be my first TPR event, and I'm so psyched! I'm flying down on Friday and back on Monday night, thinking about hitting up Disneyland for the day on Monday. Anyone care to join? My WCB bud has to work and I hate going to a park alone. School will be back in session, should be fairly quiet. PM if you're interested.

Just a heads up, I was at Knotts this past weekend and they now have new automated fluffy, fluffy bunnies filled with medicine and goo the cheapest being $13. The price goes up as the fluffy, fluffy bunnies filled with medicine and goo get larger.

So it looks like these digital lockers are spreading to other Cedar Fair parks. CGA got the digital "Go-Pod" lockers as well prior to 2013 opening. Much nicer to not have to carry a key. When we did the water park, the 3 of us stuffed 3 medium-sized backpacks (stuffed with clothes), 3 pairs of shoes, and our souvenir cups in a medium locker.

Wow, that was a lot of 'fluffy bunnies' in that post just now.

Hmm well I MAY get KBF in after all. Quite odd but my LA friend has...disappeared? No more FB, and I don't have his number, that's what I was gunna ask him for! Maybe he'll appear again by the time I leave, if not well...I'll have the morning of the 8th free then and can squeeze in ERT and some rides.

Just scored the knott's hotel on hotwire for 60 a night for both Saturday and Sunday. So if you haven't booked a hotel for the weekend it is available on hotwire right now.

Good to know. I was poking around on Hotwire and Priceline a few days ago.

Goliath is perhaps the one I look forward to most! Possibly Tatsu.

Does SFMM ever open the park a bit before official opening? Because I'm thinking of heading to X2 right as ERT is ending so I can beat the crowds to it when it opens up.

Im several pages behind at this point, but since this might be helpful to others, yes there's always the 10-15 min window that gold pass holders and Discover card members get in, so you could sneak into that time slot. They don't always open X2 early (frequently even if the ride is ready they will wait until there is a large crowd waiting before allowing you to enter the que) but if nothing else you could get to the front of the line for the first train.

And those last two have single rider lines which can basically eliminate any wait time if you're by yourself or in a small group and don't mind not riding together.

For anyone else going solo the full list of rides with SR lines are Viper, Revolution, Green Lantern, Riddlers, and Lex Luthor. For most you just go up the exit. Green Lantern and Riddlers' SR lines are a little more concealed.

Not sure if this has been asked already, but have the morning and night ERT rides been decided for SFMM? I really want to go to both days but I can't make the Sunday, and I might have to miss one of the SFMM ERT sessions, but I really want to ride YOLOcoaster so I would like to go to that ERT session. Thanks.

While the schedule is always subject to change and it has NOT been finalized yet, at the moment it's looking like YOLO, Luther and Goliath in the morning and X2, Tatsu, and Apocalypse at night.

Keep in mind the park is only open until 9pm that night, so you should be able to make it!

Do we get Flash Pass for the Six Flags day? I've noticed you guys had them on the Midwest tour; I was wondering if it's the same for WCB.

Last year there wasn't Flash Pass, but you didn't need it because you got so many rides during ERT, but if you want to buy it you can. And for buying tickets, if I'm going to buy three tickets but only two of us have Club TPR pass, can we get the Club TPR discount for the third person or not?
