  1. Hey everyone! I was planning on going sometime, probably a weekend, to the parks. I plan to get the flash pass/fads pass or whatever they call it. I wanted to know which rides we should hit first since it’s been about 5-6 years since I last went. Any advice I would greatly appreciate it
  2. Hello! I’m planning a trip to go to USH for HHN (third time; bringing a newbie who’s never been to the park or Halloween time), for October 12th. We have the VIP passes. I’m wondering what’s the best strategy to hit the rides and houses. I was thinking arriving before opening and hit the tram first. What would you suggest? Any help I would greatly appreciated. Pic unrelated
  3. Hello everyone! I’ll be attending attending Scary Farm for the first time. We have the VIP. We’ll be going on October 11th. We plan to hit the rides as well. I’m lookin for the best advice for what to hit first (haunted houses and rides), what to avoid, what not to miss, etc. I’m going with someone who has never been to the park before. Pic unrelated.
  4. Does anyone know if they’ll be a Meetup for Six Flags MM and/or Knotts this year?
  5. More pictures of DLR Friday and SFMM Saturday. I'm a foodie! Give me sugar!!!!!!!! Riding Alice in Wonderland. Love the refurbishment. Very classy. All those feels... Best thing ever!!!!!!!! It's so beautiful... Blue Bayou before opening. Dapper Dans. First Dole Whip of the day. I saw Peter Pan walking alone. I asked him if I could take a pic with him. He told me, "Sure! Just don't tell anyone."
  6. That trip was so awesome. I did DLR (arrived at park opening). For the first part of the day, I was solo so I was able to pretty much walk on a good amount of rides within the first 3 hours. For a Friday, it wasn't bad. SFMM was so kick @ss! TC was the best thing ever! TC Backstage. So awesome. DLR The bakery at Critter Country. This was delicious. All that sugar... Enter backstage for the tour of TC. I don't like apples but they do look yummy. The lunch buffet wasn't bad. Thanks to the father and son who won an extra pair of tickets for the backstage tour of TC, and gave us their extra tickets. We were able to repay the favor. It was so nice!
  7. More pics, y'all! Payphones...that brings me back! singemfrc/Bryan and I posing on SpM. singemfrc/Bryan and I on SM. "The Doctor"...dude SEND ME A PM!!!!!!! Where are you, dude? I'm petting Toothless. I like danger! More posing. I like posing apparently. The Doctor and Marlin riding X2. Dudes; send us a PM! If you send singemfrc/Bryan a PM, he'll send you a video of the both of you on this ride.
  8. This was a really nice surprise for me. I was getting all geared up to do some sort of running of the bulls, but it didn't happen. Instead, it was calm, civilized, and completely pleasant. I loved that the day started out this way. Instead of arriving at TC all out of breath, I got to enjoy some nice conversation with my friend during a leisurely walk. Definitely a great way to start the day. I'll join everyone else in giving a big thank you to Robb and Elissa. The event was great, and the amount of work put into it was quite evident. Thank you again, can't wait until next time! You're not too far from my neck of the woods! Norcal!!!!!
  9. Every day has been leg day for the past several days. My thighs and calves have bruises from the restraints of the SFMM rides. I think they were from TC.
  10. Robb and Elissa did an amazing job. Thank you again for everything! This trip was a blast. This was my first time doing an event like this, so I was so surprised how nice and awesome everyone one. TC was beautiful! One of the most craziest but funnest roller coasters I've been on in a long time. I have several bruises on my thighs and calves from the restraints (I'm sure from that ride). I'm the one that's pointing (photo bombing). That's Sarah who's looking classy! TC Backstage. TC Backstage again. TC Backstage. Myself and singemfrc posing for YoloCoaster.
  11. Yes, it was awesome! Bryan, if you could make the pics Sarah sent me into a gif, that would be so cool! We'll have to post it here.
  12. Hello! This was my first event [did SFMM], and it was amazing! Met so many people, and everyone was very nice. Met Sarah, who tools some excellent pics of me under Goliath backstage. Met two awesome dudes, Matlon and "the Doctor." We were suppose to exchange info but misplaces each other when the park closed. Will post more of a review, but it's almost 1am and need sleep.
  13. Hello, y'all! I'm planning on going to SF: MM for the September meet. I know it's not on topic; but anyhow. I'll be going to this park on July 16th. The last time I went to this park was during early 90's (90-92). I know a lot has changed. I was planning on going with my cousins for one day. We plan to be there before opening, and I was planning on purchasing a Flash Pass for all of us. I was wondering what's the best way to hit the park? If someone could give me some guidance, that would be wonderful. Pic unrelated.
  14. Went to KTB last week. Lots of fun. Last time I was there was '89. Went on I think 5 rides total that day. Rode Xcelerator 3 times in a row, rode all three in about 20 minutes. Timber Mountain Log Ride was fun, but man--those AA are scary as hell. Silver Bullet was cool. Supreme Scream was alright. Pony Express hurts my back. Ghost Rider almost was like Final Destination. Would go again.
  15. Went last week at SFMM. Hit FT first. The line was an average of 60 minutes, though we did see it longer during the early afternoon. We did X2 twice. It was my first time riding it, because every time I go to the parks it's always closed for maintenance. The ride was pretty cool. First time riding it, the ride was smooth (rode the front left inner row). Second time (front right outside row), it was rough. Green Lantern (or I like to call it Plan Parenthood), was smoother, but that was because the weight was balanced. I think we only flipped once. Overall, it was pretty good day. Use the Flash Pass, and barely waited in line.
  16. Since it's still close to opening day I'd say to hit Namtab first, that line could be long all day. Normally the best plan is to hit either X2 or YOLO first and whichever one you don't do first come back at about 4:30pm. I'm going the week after and I think we're probably going to do X2 first followed by Namtab and then hit YOLO in the afternoon. It is a little interesting that Namtab is in the far NW corner, X2 is in the far SE corner, and YOLO is right smack in the middle. What the hell is Namtab?
  17. I don't think Ninja will be leaving before Viper (I don't think either will leave any time soon), and I don't know about the day to day mechanical maintenance costs of a suspended coaster versus a sit-down but as far as up time goes it seems to be just as reliable as Viper (it's almost never down) and I'd bet it has a higher ridership. I'm also guessing that the park would be more apprehensive to replace a coaster in the middle of the mountain than they would on the outskirts because I think it costs more to have one custom built for the terrain. Personally I like Ninja, it's a fun relaxing ride through the trees, it's way better than the snooze fest that is Draggin' Iron at Cedar Point, that's for sure. Hiyah! It wasn't very enjoyable to for me, at least the near the end of the ride. Poor Jeff though...
  18. Read this article and I thought it was interesting. Thoughts regarding the article, or is it forbidden?
  19. Agreed. I can't stand Roar, but I'm hoping they retrack the entire ride and not part of it.
  20. I typically start at the Boardwalk and go counter-clockwise around the park. For coaster order, that would be Xcelerator, Boomerang (skip if you don't care about credits), Coast Rider, Pony Express, GhostRider, Silver Bullet, Sierra Sidewinder, Montezooma's Revenge, Xcelerator. Other than coasters, the only must ride attraction is the Timber Mountain Log Ride, but assuming you aren't pressed for time I'd also recommend riding Supreme Scream and the Calico Mine Ride (if it is open by the time you visit). For flat rides, if you've never been on that model ride it, but otherwise skip unless there isn't a line. Depending on when you're visiting, you could encounter anything from walk-ons to 1 hour waits for major attractions (possibly longer during holiday weekends), but if you plan a full day you should definitely be able to get everything done (don't purchase Fast Lane...rarely worth it at this park and doesn't include Xcelerator). Finally, be prepared for some major changes, as the park today is nothing like what it was when you were young (don't worry, it's still a good park, just different). Thank you again. I know it'll be different since I was last there. I'm kinda excited to go there. It's been ages.
  21. Thanks. It's been forever since I was there. I remember Monsue Revenge (sp?), the time machine dark ride, the rapids ride (I think it was called Big Foot), and the log ride. I know there was a cave/train ride if I recall. I just remember how amazing the fried chicken is there.
