cmullin
West Coast Bash tickets have SOLD OUT! Thank you to everyone for your support! Did you sell out last year too? I feel like I bought my ticket fairly close to the event days.

I feel like I bought my ticket fairly close to the event days. Last year we had more tickets available as we had more rides during ERT. We like to scale things a bit so that we can ensure lines will be short during ERT sessions. Usually lines during West Coast Bash ERTs are non-existant. Perhaps towards the start of ERT, but you should be able to get in PLENTY of rides!

Sir Clinksalot
Finally got the "all clear" for WCB!!! See you all at Knott's (and at SFMM during the day).

dylanreich
I'm excited to finally get to ride Full Throttle! I haven't been at all this year because of college. The ERT rides are basically the best ERT group that they can put on, and if lines are shorter this year...
LoonAZ
Finally got the "all clear" for WCB!!! See you all at Knott's (and at SFMM during the day). Â Gregg, Â Just read your SFMM update on that "other" fan site. Do you think any of the outages you reported will affect ERT next week? Is Apocalypse still closed? And X2 possibly down as well? Yikes! All these summer operations issues has me a little worried. Edited August 29, 2013 by LoonAZ
dylanreich
Oh crap, I forgot about X2's problems (the lift chain broke right?). I know last time that happened it took a long time to reopen it. Hopefully they've learned from that though, like having another one on site... But not them.

paulthomas
Is anyone from South Florida going to this?? Â I'll be there all by myself.. this will be my third time attending West Coast Bash... The last time I was there was the first year they did night ERT... I must have been one of the last tickets purchased or something.... Â I saw on the website X2 and Apocolypse were down... I'm hoping at least Apocolypse is open.. that would be a new ride I'd love to add to my list.. Â Paul
cmullin
SO are we expecting big crowds during the day at SFMM, or should we be able to get in plenty of rides during the day as well.
JeromyL
Wouldn't it be awesome if they loaded one of the backwards trains on colossus for us during ERT time (make up for X2's closure
sfmman2000
Just an FYI for anyone looking for a hotel deal for WCB: Â Hotwire's secret rate hotels now clearly show amenities such as free internet, free breakfast and free parking. With help of a Hotwire/Priceline hotel list site like betterbidding.com, it's very easy to narrow down which hotel you're actually booking. Â I'm not a shill for Hotwire -- their taxes and fees often make the deals not so hot... but I've found some good deals before, especially when comparing Hotwire with the best rate at Kayak. Also, on the main page you'll often see a coupon sign-up for $10 off any booking, which can make a deal even hotter.
JJLehto
I know I know, it happens, we'd not be the only ones affected and all but if X2 is still down when we're there...well yeah I realistically don't expect to make it out to CA again anytime soon. Oh please be open at least for one ride
Barge84
This X2 talk is making me sad. Hopefully it's open since it was closed when I was last there in 2001.  Thad + TPR + 2013 = Closed rides  No worries, though. It will still be an awesome weekend. robbalvey
Thad + TPR + 2013 = Closed rides It kind of bums me out to see someone post this. It's not like we can control what happens with rides at parks and I really think we do as much as possible to still show people a great time even when it happens. Â Please don't blame TPR when a park has an issue with a coaster.

I was just trying to make a joke about the bad luck that we've had, but it definitely didn't diminish the fun I had on the Texas/Midwest tour. chickenbowl
^ Hey, at least Xcelerator opened back up! Xcelerator>>>>X2. X2 was very rough this season, plus you still have Tatsu and Full Throttle!
JJLehto
Disclaimer: Â Yes, obviously TPR has absolutely nothing to do with this, (anyone who'd be mad at TPR is just dumb) and it's even beyond the hands of SFMM (Maybe? Im giving botd to keep my disappointment down ) and yes, I know this happens...it's like when people would fly from the UK for TTD just to find it closed down, crap happens and no, it wont ruin my entire time. Im quite excited still. That said I think there's nothing wrong with a small vent...this does kinda suck. Don't imagine going back out to CA any time soon, and X2 was kinda part of it all...after 11 years was stoked to finally get on that unique ride which is nowhere else in the US. So hope I get no flak for just stating I am pretty bummed out, but yeah being mopey won't open it up. Â Hope Apocalypse is up as they say it should be. Looks like a real fun woodie. Im packing, and will be flying, driving and savoring CA so I'll see yall at the WCB!
sfmman2000
I'll take Apocalypse over X2 any day! Â Although for those coming out to SFMM to ride X2 for the first time, I do feel bad about that. It took many years after X was built that I finally got to ride it due to to closures.

We had two hours of ERT on it last year, and I only rode it once, it banged me up so much. Tatsu, Goliath, Apocalypse, and YOLOcoaster are my top 4 choices for coasters at SFMM, so this is great, but I would have liked to get one ride in this year. Hopefully we get another ride for ERT, preferably S:EFK, so the lines will be even shorter.
