TPR has changed my life for the better and has enabled me to develop really good friendships with people all over the globe. It's hard to believe that less than 4 years ago I became a member on this forum. Before joining TPR I wasn't really a part of any enthusiast community, I had heard of ACE but couldn't really push myself to purchase a membership. In 2009 finally stumbled across a TPR video uploaded on Robb's channel, it was the

I think. After that I found the forums and I lurked for a year before finally creating an account. Finally, on July 14th 2010 I made my first post to the forum!

I spent a lot of time posting in the "Random, Random, Random" forum that first year, playing the thread games, and just getting my bearings. I wasn't as educated about coasters back then than I am now, so I mainly lurked in the main forum. I have to say that TPR has taught me a lot about theme parks, roller coasters, and life in general. I slowly got to know who was who on the forum and began to really feel at home with this community. It wasn't hard to start making friends. I think 2011 was my peak as far as activity in the forums goes because at this point this was really the only way I was participating as an enthusiast. I didn't have the funds to travel, but I hoped to soon change that.

I signed up for the 2012 "New Hotness" tour, but sadly had to pull out because my 2001 Chevy Malibu's brakes decided to quit while I was driving down a busy 4 lane highway. My travel funds were mainly used to purchase my current vehicle, but I did have enough left to attend East Coast Bash that year. I have to say, for anyone who cannot afford a full tour the bashes are a great alternative! After two awesome days at KD and BGW I knew I had to get on a tour for 2013! I signed up for the Texas/Midwest tour as soon as I had my deposit money ready.

The benefits of signing up for a tour begin as soon as the private forum opens. If you are active on it and open up a little bit about yourself you will make friends before stepping foot on the bus! I could write a novel about my experiences on the tour, but instead I will just say that it was without a doubt the best time of my life. I'm hoping to go on Mini New-Hotness this year if I can get the time off work, and I am really jealous of everyone lucky enough to go on the Scandi tour.

Thanks Robb and Elissa for all the work you do both on and off tours (and Kristin for handing out wristbands and Q-bots!). My life would be drastically different had I not stumbled across your content back in 2009!

I'll tell you why I love TPR. It's our members. It's our members who support us and who continue to support us over the years.

While I'm appreciative of all the kind words you guys have give us (Elissa and myself), it really is about all of you.

So... thank you!

I love TPR because it is a community of Amusement/Theme Park and/or Roller Coaster enthusiasts who is welcoming to newbies like myself.

I also love to see the side discussions since most of us do have other interests besides just amusement/theme parks.

I like TPR for a bunch of reasons...

-Most active theme park/roller coaster forums on the internet.

-Great trip reports from everyone.

-The mods do a great job of keeping the forums professional.

-TPR members are friendly for the most part.

-Lots of great coaster videos and POVs.

-I learn a lot of things here first before I learn about them elsewhere.

I love because of all the awesome people I have met and the things I have done since joining up around here. Thanks to tpr, just two weeks ago I got to cripple my left thigh riding a kiddie coaster that in no way designed to handle a 6"5 280 pound adult with no children has any business riding(I felt no shame and needed the new credit anyway). If it wasn't for all the awesome people around here I probably would have never known that there were other people out there who share the same passion and love of all things rollercoasters and theme parks as I do and would have never have done the traveling or seen the country the way I have the last few years. Some of the most treasured memories I have are from traveling the country and seeing new parks and without everyone around here I never would have thought such a thing was possible.

I think they biggest things that bring me back here often are that 1. unlike a lot of other coaster/TP boards, this forum is always active and 2. Most people have a great (read: twisted) sense of humor and don't take this hobby too seriously. That there are so many knowledgeable people here that are willing to give great advice to others is the icing on the cake. Also, most of the trip reports here are thorough and interesting.

What brought me here originally were Robb's videos, which I found to be the best quality of any out there. I came here more and more often in 2012 to read all I could about Outlaw Run. Since then, I've found this community to be enthusiastic about theme parks, but not just fawning over the tallest/fastest/newest coaster. I love that we can discuss carousels, dark rides, and beer gardens with the same level of love (come on, who doesn't love a beer garden?), and also that when a park or chain has a terrible idea, as they sometimes do, that we'll just call it out and say, no, a Super Loop is not in fact a roller coaster, but thanks for playing. It really seems like we here have a desire for all parks to be the best they can be, and in order to achieve that, one must both demand high quality and reward it.

I love TPR because:

If you are going to visit a park, you can ask a large group of enthusiasts for tips.

Bag-O-Crap.

Fluffy Fluffy Bunnies Filled With Medicine and Goo always gets me to laugh.

The Park Index could be the best thing on the Internet.

This is also one of the few places on the Internet where people know how to spell.

Photo Trip Reports

And so much more, this website is definitely my favorite.
