Kyle Coleman Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 Looks like a great line up of slides and add in a virtual line system for no waiting and I will be there opening weekend. Was wondering if there will be any kind of local discount though.
_koppen Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 Is there a rendering of the play structure? The only thing I could find is this one, from above.
coastercrazy216 Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 I know that Polin is the primary supplier for this park, but will they be supplying the play structure as well?

Jew Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 The Facebook Page for the park has a pretty good rendering of the entire park, in which you can clearly see the play structure.
_koppen Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 Yeah, I saw that, I meant a more detailed picture, like they released on their slides. But I have been looking around tonight, and I don't think there is one.
montezooma Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 From this ariel view of the park you can see construction is progressing quickly on our new site. The Lazy River, Wave Pool and several splash pools are beginning to take shape as well as building pads and parking lot.
jray21 Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Cool picture! Looking forward to seeing it all come together!
Moose Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 (edited) Thanks for the update. It looks much bigger than the original Cowabunga Bay! Edited January 23, 2013 by Moose
montezooma Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 (edited) Here is an update and some construction pics. Hard to believe when you look at these pictures that we will be open this Summer. There is a ton of stuff going on underground. The parking lot has been completely graded as well as the wave pool, lazy river, slide splash pools and pump houses. They have also begun to carve out the area where the mat racer slide will descend below group before it makes its uphill finale. Â All of the plumbing, electrical and foundation work is now being done on the main administration building as well as the adjoining bathhouse. The buildings should begin to go vertical soon. Â Concrete is now being poured in the wave pool and it is rapidly beginning to take shape. Polin has manufactured 75% of the slides and there are a couple shipments in transit now. Fiberglass should begin to show up at the site mid-March. The excitement in the area is unbelievable. People drive by the site constantly honking their horns and driving by with "thumbs up." We have a deal with the local Station Casinos and one of the coolest things they are doing is coming up with a custom Cowabunga Bay slot machine!!! How cool is that? Â Here are some pics: My new offices for the next couple of months...trailer trash! digging a major hole for the downhill-uphill portion of the mat racer. plumbing, electrical and foundations begin for the main food service which will be called "Bullwinkle's Boardwalk Eats" Rebar being placed for the caissons of the wave pool. Here's a POV from the deep end of the wave pool. This will soon be buried in concrete. Yep, here comes the concrete. That's it for this update. More later. There is also some cool theme stuff we are working on. Here is before... And here is after. Edited March 2, 2013 by montezooma
Guy T. Koepp Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 Looks like things are progressing nicely Shane. I can't wait to get out there to see this place this in June.
Kyle Coleman Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 Looks like some good work so far. Already planning on me and my buddy being there on memorial day.
Philrad71 Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 This will definitely be at the top of my list for my next trip to Vegas...looks like a lot of fun and it's cool that the Station casino's have a slot machine named after the park! Â Not being overly familiar with the Henderson area, is there a Station casino near the park? The one I am thinking of up in that area is Boulder Station...is that fairly close? Just thinking of a close place to stay that would be near the water park.
Jojo19799 Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 Thanks for sharing Shane! I hope to visit Vegas this summer, and I will definitely be making a stop at Cowabunga Bay! Â Now that I think about it, I might as well make the trek to the original Cowabunga Bay and Lagoon. It's only a 6 hour drive from Vegas.

The Sunset Station is just across the freeway from the park but the Fiesta (more budget minded) and the Green Valley Ranch (top of the line) are also near by. PM me and I will give you a special Cowabunga Bay promo code for a great deal on rooms!  I pretty much live at the Sunset, great place with nice rooms, Starbucks, Mexican and Italian restaurants and Margaritas to die for.
jray21 Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 Thanks for the update Shane! Can't wait to see it all come together. I'll definitely be visiting this summer!
cfc Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 I think this is the first "rebar POV" I've ever seen. Â Â Glad to see the project is moving along so well--good luck, Shane!

Thanks Shane...I will definitely let you know when we make a visit!  I have stayed at the Fiesta and Texas Station on the other side of town before as they were very close to where my Great Aunt & Uncle and Aunt and Uncle used to live. I have never been to Sunset or Boulder Station, but do prefer to gamble at places like this because they cater more to the locals. Plus the rooms are very reasonable!  My Dad is already out there with his brother and my sister and brother in law are flying out on Thursday...I'm so jealous!
_koppen Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 I have a question Shane, what will be the capacity of the park, at the same time?
montezooma Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Update picture from March 1. Still a ways to go but with crews working round the clock there are major changes every day.
gisco Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Love to see the construction pictures. How do you get that over view picture? Â Taking a closer look at the picture, the place looks huge!
Hercules Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Awesome Shane. I can't wait to see the place when I am out there at the end of June!!!
