Experience Park
Turner Broadcasting System Asia-Pacific has announced plans for the world's first Cartoon Network-themed water park in Bang Saray, a tourist destination 20 kilometres south of Pattaya. An artist’s conception of the 1-billion-baht Cartoon Network Amazone water park being built on 35 rai in Chon Buri. Attractions will include a giant wave pool, a winding adventure river, speed-racing slides, family raft rides and one of the world’s largest interactive water-play fortresses. The first phase of the project, Cartoon Network Amazone, is being developed with the local Amazon Falls Co and will open next year. The water park is being built on 35 rai at a cost of 1 billion baht. It will feature a lush Amazon rainforest and cartoon heroes like Ben 10, the Powerpuff Girls and Johnny Bravo. Attractions will include a giant wave pool, a winding adventure river, speed-racing slides, family raft rides and one of the world's largest interactive water-play fortresses. When fully operational, the park is expected to attract 800,000 visitors a year, said Sunny Saha, a senior vice-president and managing director of Turner Broadcasting System Asia-Pacific. The water park site is a 15-minute drive from South Pattaya. "We are very proud to have Thailand as the spectacular backdrop for the world's first Cartoon Network-themed water park," said Mr Saha. "Thailand's reputation as the Land of Smiles and perfect weather will ensure a memorable visit for guests of all ages." Liakat Dhanji, Amazon Falls' chairman, said the Cartoon Network partnership marks Thailand's first internationally branded water theme park. He said Amazon Falls has used a world-class team of designers and attraction specialists to build the project. Atchaka Sribunruang, secretary-general of the Board of Investment (BoI), said the park will raise the profile of Bang Saray, a municipality in Chon Buri's Sattahip district, and create jobs. She said the BoI supports the project and will offer as much assistance as needed. Sorce:www.bangkokpost.com Officialwww.CartoonNetworkAsia.com] Website(Update) Official FacebookFanpage! _koppen
This park is actually starting to take shape (unlike all the other water parks that's announced for Thailand)! At first I didn't think it was going to be anything special, as most water parks Polin are involved in are small to medium in size. After they now finally updated their website, and added the ride's and a park map, boy was I wrong. This will be a pretty big park, very similar to the new Cowabunga in Las Vegas. Good for me, since I often go to Thailand for vacation (to bad that I don't like Pattaya, but I'll stand it for this). Here's a pretty standard complex with a Bowl, a Boomerango and a Pipeline (nice and shiny, thanks to RTM molding). Here's the major complex. The mat racer in there looks insane, with that downhill and up part followed by the octopus ring's and then another drop. This complex will also feature and trap door looping slide (pictured above, bottom left slide), a free fall slide, a pipeline with 3 big chambers (the big white thing, high in the air), and a King Cobra with an alien theme instead. There will also be a water coaster similar to a Master Blaster, and also Polin's biggest slide to date, the Magic Sphere (picture from Polin's website below) which is a big family raft standing almost 75 feet tall. That one will be themed to Ben 10, and an alien space ship, not the theme in the picture. The park will also have a clone of the giant play structure from the Las Vegas Cowabunga Bay, with a Cartoon Network theme, a lazy river, surf arena and a huge wave pool with a stage at the wave chambers, for in-pool concerts. There will also be a children's area, an adult pool and all those standard water park things. Settings for the park, in the sunset: Promotion video Website Here I might have missed something, there website isn't that detailed about the slide's yet. Looks like Polin is really stepping it up right now, and I can't wait to try out this new park, and the one in Las Vegas, whenever I get the chance. Gilly
Wow, this looks fantastic And the best thing about it, is that there will still be some of the old shows featured in attractions
Zcev5454
That racer looks awesome! Even just that first drop is insane, then you add the uphill part with tunnels!
WayCool64
I know this is sort of a nitpick theming-wise but.. where the heck is Ed, Edd n Eddy? That was one of my favorite Cartoon Network shows, and they're not part of this new water park, and yet Johnny Bravo, the Powerpuff Girls, and Kids Next Door (which have all been off the air for quite sometime) are? Ah well, the park still looks awesome anyway.
WFChris
^I'm sure the older rides and shows will set the foundation for the park and newer show based themed attractions will follow. It also may be a matter of how popular that particular show is in Thailand.
_koppen
The last pictures are from middle of February, so I wrote on their Facebook page and asked for fresh pictures, and 3 hours later this popped up. Looks like the water coaster will actually be the one with the 3 big chambers, and it looks really cool. The lazy river will pass right under the complex as well. Airtime&Gravity
I'm not a big water park person, but this new slide complex looks amazing. Hopefully we'll see more like this open up, and it is cool to see such a diverse variety of styles packed into one tower.

GrapesLie
You know what's funny is just a few weeks ago my boyfriend and I were talking about Courage The Cowardly Dog and saying that we thought it would make a great dark ride! I guess a water slide is cool too though! Honestly though this looks really awesome!
_koppen
It's not as up to date as the other photo's, but this one shows the park's custom themed King Cobra, something the other photo's fail to do. Source
StealthFan
I'm not really a fan of the colour schemes and patterns on the slides but that aside they do look like an interesting bunch of slides that I would love to try out if I had the chance. -Craig
_koppen
Work continues in Thailand. A new angle of the big complex: But what's most exciting is this shot, of the new huge CARTOONIVAL play structure going up. Looks awesome! From the parks Facebook.
