I have been informed that we were beat this year by a haunt up east, only due to budgeting issues and a change in fire code that caused use to have to redesign several old rooms to meet fire code and blow our budget so only a few of new rooms opened this year, but they only beat us by a few 100 feet by our guesstaments since we have yet to be measured this year. We still have the Pit "the maze" and our humongous bubble room this year though.

Out of curiosity what time of the year did you come through last year?

I think it was the weekend before Halloween. We waited in line over 3 hours I believe, but it seemed to go by pretty quickly.

Just stumbled across this place, in San Diego...apparently the cost to get in is 2 non perishable food items. The Haunt's known as the McKamey Manor and is known for being a highly interactive haunt: actors can and will make contact with you and they even warn you not to wear your best clothing in there as you will come out 'looking different' (as in getting sprayed with fake blood/getting spit on as though someone vomited blood on you). I've never experienced this and found out they video tape your experience.

A video of the maze, the entire tour is up (from a previous season), cut into parts.

Anyone in the area may want to check this out if you don't mind the high interactivity level of it.

I know Ohio has some GREAT Haunted Houses.

Some of my favorites are

Haunted Hoochie/Dead Acres -Pataskala, OH

Dead Acres/Haunted Hoochie

This haunt is just f**king insane! The actors grab at you, put their chainsaws against your body and legs, plus totally invade your personal space. The wait can sometimes be 2+ hours. But it's totally worth it in my opinion. Plus they now have a 3D maze which I hear is also pretty cool.

The Terror Fest-Columbus, OH

TerrorFest

The special effects, props, and sets in this house are pretty good for a Columbus haunt. I had a great time at this haunted house. It also helps that the place is ALL INDOORS! So even if it's raining, which it tends to do that a lot in Ohio during October, you can still stay dry and enjoy a scary good time.

Lastly I haven't been to this one but I'm planning on driving out to visit it, is the Ohio State Reformatory's Haunted Prison Experience.

Haunted Prison Experience

I'm pretty excited about this haunt because I haven't really heard anything bad about it. I'm a big scardey cat but I LOVE being scared and this seems like it will be a great place to test my limits.

Even though I have never been. I do hear however that The Dent Schoolhouse is another AMAZING haunt in the Cincinnati,OH area.

The Dent Schoolhouse

So if you are anywhere near these haunts or feel like making a trip I say definitely check them out!

Bumping this for the fall haunt season.

My favorite haunt was Rocky Point Haunted House in Salt Lake City, UT. This thing was constantly rated top haunt in the nation, but sadly the owner decided to call it quits after 20 years. I have never been in anything like this place and the sets were top notch. The final sequence you actually walked through the main floor of Leather Face's home (Texas Chainsaw Massacre). They even pumped smells like rot and blood into some of the areas. The graveyard was the set of the queue location and as you waited the scare actors would stop scaring everyone every 15 minutes or so to perform and dance to Michael Jackson's "Thriller." It made the time move so quickly.

If you are a haunt fan. You have to check out some of the old photos.

Universal Halloween Horror Nights and Dark Harbor at Queen Mary are currently my favorite haunts that are running. The only minor note I have is that it is impossible to enjoy these places without a "front of the line" VIP pass. The lines are just ridiculous.

I am visiting Eastern State Penitentiary this year. I am going to try and make it to Bates Motel, but it might get trumped by the creepy and reportedly haunted sister haunt, Pennhurst. Let me know if I should change my decision.

A lot of the sets from Rocky Point are still in use at the 13th Floor Haunted House in Phoenix, Arizona. Hope this brightens your day.

As posted previously, McKamey Manor looks absolutely insane. I'm going to try and get to Sinister Pointe this year, it sounds so cool.

The 13th Floor at Circus Circus casino is fun, 13 rooms with something scary in them, and last year you were involved in an exorcism that goes wrong.

Eli Roth's Goratorium is a year round haunt that will be opening on the Las Vegas strip this month.

Really wish I lived in an area that had more of these haunts around. Being in the middle of the bible belt, they are few and far between. The Ripley's Haunted Attraction in Gatlinburg actually does a decent job with their Halloween event. They double their actors and usually add a couple new rooms each year. About the best I've got around me.

^ I loved the ending in that one!

Several of my favorites are...

Ghoul Mansion *Shameless plug* - Sharon Pa

There is two attractions here Ghoul Mansion and Carnevil. Both attractions share the same building which result in some very twisting paths which allow for some pretty unique tricks. Detail is top notch and the artist who does the 3D in Carnevil has some of the best work I have seen. If your in the area stop by and say hi to Dippy this year will be the best yet!

Haunted Hills Estate - Uniontown Pa

Didn't know what to think about this one but it was an option for an add-on for Haunt Con so we decided to check it out and im glad we did! We went in May which meant one of the attractions wasn't open for us due to construction but didn't matter as the other two attractions were great.

The first we did was Legends set in an old barn this obviously had a backwards hillbilly theme. The actors were really good (Surprised me since this was the first they acted in several months) while going through the house you are required to do alot of crawling and they do a good job at splitting/ switching up groups so those hiding in the back would have to lead.

The second attraction was Challenge Trail. I knew absolutely nothing about this one so I didn't expect what was coming. This was a VERY interactive haunt and you are required to do various activitys throughout out the trail working closely with a group of strangers. Several included shoveling coal, codes, puzzles, shooting, and beer pong (Yes Beer Pong). The theme around this haunt is you are trying to control the Zombie apocalypse and at the end your must escape when a hoard of Zombies come after you.

Those are just two but if you are looking for area haunts or info a good site I use is Haunt World

Come to Atlanta. We have Atlanta Zombie Apocalypse which is in an old abandoned hotel and Netherworld which is rated as one of the best in the US every year and is split into two haunted houses that are quite awesome!!!

That is a bummer for you as I can see that area not being a huge draw for haunt operators.

However you have several in Knoxville Frightmare Manor, Trail of Doom (Cornmaze), and Frightworks. They all advertise together so all their pages are in one link here.

Really Excited for this year. I was just told about Haunted Play which is more along the lines of the New York one mentioned earlier (minus the period blood?) in LA with you being part of the story. It was created by Hollywood stuntman Jon Braver (Who's worked on movies like The Dark Knight Rises, Spiderman 2, Crank, and many others) and produced by Neil Patrick Harris, so there's a little extra tossed in the special effect department.

It looks freakin' Awesome!

I really don't go to many local haunts except for one name Boogies. It is seriously very intense, there is a part in the maze on which you enter a actual maze. It freaks me out every time. Basically because I can never find the exit out, and also the actors with chainsaws actually touch you with the chainsaw. Which I seriously hate because one time I had grease all over my brand new jeans, but it also scares the little crap out of me. I also volunteer for a camp ground maze, which was pretty decent. I was a jester's little minions, me and some other man would jump out of this huge jack in the box an run out and scare people. It was fun.
