"Hot Dog Stand #3 costs too much"

This was a great park, better than I expected in fact. In general, I really love the well seasoned parks that have tons of history, old school rides, new school rides. Canobie has a very strange, but awesome dark ride, a last of it's kind caterpillar, not to mention for those who just want to chill, a nice boat ride on the lake. The row of pinball machines also helped to elevate the park in coolness. This was certainly one of my fav's of the trip!

^Yeah...the coaster selection was a bit sub-par, but I suppose they're trying with the Eurofighter. Do they have a "not above the tree line" ordinance or something? I noticed that you couldn't really see any of the rides from the boat ride...so if that's the case, their coaster selection may be somewhat limited.

Glad you all enjoyed my home park! Wish I could have been there the day you were all there, it looked like you guys had a great time!

I wish the indoor scrambler still utilized all the effects as well. For a while (some years back), they did almost completely dark with only strobes and fog and lots of loud music - it was really awesome. Don't know how it was when you guys were on it, but last time I rode it, it wasn't really dark and it was just some random colored lights. Still fun, but in the dark it definitely gives a different experience and doesn't feel quite like it's just a scrambler.

I really liked Canobie and felt they had some of the nicest employees we encountered on the trip. That being said, they could really use some better coasters!

So agreed! Untamed was a good start, but that Corkscrew needs to go and has needed to go for a while. I don't know how many expansion options Canobie has being in such a residential area, but I would love to see them get at least something to replace the Corkscrew... one can hope I guess!

For my ride it was just an indoor Scrambler with clear flood lights. No effects or anything. Some other people thought they got a few different lights, but we got nothing. I saw that they have equipment in the room to do fog, strobes, disco, etc, but none of that was being used.

I forgot to mention how friendly everyone was, it was amazing! Every single ride op and employee was smiling and interacting with the guests in a positive manner. Outside of Holiday World, I've never seen that anywhere. So once again, that ties into the "Holiday World Lite" moniker I have for the park.

Yeah out of all the parks Canobie definitely had the best/nicest employees plus they all seemed to know TPR was there. At one point an employee on the Starblaster actually was too nice...kind of got scared

TPDave drinking the Baltimore swill known as National Bohemian produced some AMAZING facial expressions! And I would just like to point out that I spent $3.50 or so on that six pack for him.

I was also amused that the rest of the six pack was consumed. This leads me to believe that some people will drink anything...

I got a few strobe lights on my ride on the scrambler, however, after seeing the sign on the door that indicated the ride would not be run without the lights on, I got a little sad. Still, great little park, the crew on the Eurofighter happend to get my award as the friendliest in the park. Now, my award doesn't really offer anything, not even a piece of paper, but nonetheless, it's an award.

Canobie Lake was just a very fun park! I really do love these smaller parks now more than the big ones. They had a great variety of rides, beautiful scenery, and everyone was just really nice here. Plus who doesn't love those RCT food stands? Untamed was my first eurofighter ever and I was surprised by how shaky the front was, back row was much smoother. Overall I think it was a great addition to the park! For an older coaster, Cannonball was pretty good.

Robb, how did you forget that our hotel in Canada didn't have power?! Alcohol exchange was great, especially for someone like myself who can't legally drink in the states!

For me, Canobie Lake was the biggest park surprise of the trip. I didn't know what to expect beforehand, but from what I had heard the park was good but not great. It ended up being one of my favorite small parks, and had two coasters any small park would be grateful to have (Untamed and Yankee Cannonball). In addition, I think Canobie had the best mix of new and old flats, as well as some really wet water rides and a very bizarre dark ride.

The night in Canada was very interesting. I doubt anyone will forget it unless they overdid it in the alcohol exchange.

Canobie Lake does look awesome! What was the covered caterpillar like? I'm not claustrophobic but I feel like it would completely freak me out for some reason.

I felt it was like a Music Express type ride but with a cover over it...it was fun but maybe it's because these are rare to find and I love "old school" flats. Definitely worth checking out.....

This trip had plenty of flats that are rare to find at parks these days.

It was quite interesting - definitely not small enough while covered to cause claustrophobia. The spinning was just fast enough to make it exciting.

As for Canobie as a whole, it was a very neat little park - the train ride, some of the flats, Untamed, the employees, etc. - I liked it just as much as Compounce.

The dark ride, on the other hand... Umm.. That was one hell of a random history lesson with multiple centuries and geographic locations.

I rode one of those at Southport in the UK back in 2006 and it was rather . . . odd (and it smelled a bit musty).

I need to hit these New England parks, particularly SFNE and Canobie. Any park with a goofy dark ride that includes not only miners but also mummies and pirates is OK in my book.
