onewheeled999
There's a game on Steam that's on sale for $-21.00. That's 160% off its regular price! Â Too bad it's RailWorks 2012. I don't think you could pay me enough money to play that game.

onewheeled999
Today, I got assigned one of the strangest, and quite possibly one of the most difficult projects I've ever encountered. Â It's for my Psychology class, we have to have a mock addiction to ice, both cubed and crushed. We can't ingest any fluids that do not have ice in them: milk with cereal, coffee, smoothies, water.. If there is no ice in them, they can't come anywhere near our lips. As well, ice is an illegal substance, so we can't let anybody see that we use it. And I don't know if my teacher was bluffing about this part or not, but apparently, he gave the school supervisors a list of our names, so that if they see us with ice of any sort, we get an on-campus suspension. And to add just one more aspect to it all, he gave us all a mark on our wrists with permanent marker, that we have to hide. Â As difficult as I know it will be, I'm gonna try to go all out with this. It started after school today, at 3:04, and lasts until Thursday at midnight. Let's do this!
grrt
^ Well... good luck on that haha! Crazy teachers... Â Am making a commitment to be nothing but nice to people from now on... no yelling, no insults, only saying positive things. Hoping I can keep it up without having to repress anger... See, I've turned pretty angry over the years, and am hoping I can become the person I actually want to be, and used to be, before high school took its toll on my formerly good nature. Wish me luck! It started after school today, at 3:04, and lasts until Thursday at midnight. Let's do this!  Though not as extreme, this reminds me of when my cousin was in high school and one of her classes required her to decorate a blown egg as a 'baby' as well as make the basket for it....then she had to take it everywhere for that week and write up a paper about the 'taking care' of it and what she did/where she went.  And one of my friends had to take a plastic baby that had a chip in it and had to take care of it for 24 hours...she had a key strapped to her and you'd give the baby the key to 'feed it' and respond to its other demands. I'm sure you guys have heard of these babies and crazy assignments.
onewheeled999
Whew, my teacher let us end the "addiction" during class today, as opposed to midnight tonight. It was TOUGH, but I did it all the way through.
RAWKIN_coaster38
^Congrats! How did you do it? What was the hardest part? Â That actually sounds like a really interesting way to simulate addictions! Did anyone get caught with ice and suspended? And what was the marker supposed to simulate? And wouldn't the marker mark just wash off in a day, anyway? Â I'm really curious to hear more about this assignment!

onewheeled999
^Congrats! How did you do it? What was the hardest part? That actually sounds like a really interesting way to simulate addictions! Did anyone get caught with ice and suspended? And what was the marker supposed to simulate? And wouldn't the marker mark just wash off in a day, anyway?  I'm really curious to hear more about this assignment!  The hardest part was definitely when I first got home from school each day. I have to stay until about 6:00 PM since I'm helping build the set for my school's production of Thoroughly Modern Millie, and I was lucky to sneak a bit of ice at lunch some of the days, and get something to drink in the eleven hours I'm at school. When I finally got home each night, everyone would be in the living room/kitchen (there are no walls separating them in my house), so I couldn't drink anything for at least an hour, when I caught my chance.  And nobody got on-campus suspension, I honestly don't even know if he was serious about it. I hope not, because that's a pretty cool element.  The marker was to remind us of the experiment in case we forgot about it somehow, I believe. The hard part about that was that we couldn't let anybody see it, as they would inevitably ask what it was about. And he redrew the mark every day in class, haha.  It was a very cool (hehe, get it? Ice?) experiment, and you're right, it was a great way to learn more about addictions firsthand.

My first thought was that maybe it was supposed to represent track-marks or scars, to represent addicts who shoot up and have to also hide their arms. Â Well, sounds really neat, and congrats overall!
