SharkTums
I used to think Vortex was one of the better Arrow MultiLoopers, especially in the 'Arrow Seat' (Second to back)...not anymore. I still have a headache from riding Vortex two weeks ago!

Homer
I thought Vortex was alright, little painful, but nothing really special. You have to be kinda crazy to actually consider it a top 10 (then again, I'm the only one who thought Son Of Beast was an alright ride ).

coastrfreak2000
I really don't get why people say Vortex is rough. Maybe it's because my head is over the restraint, but I find it to be a pretty fun ride.
coaster05
Grizzly and Hurler are rough as I don't know what, Anaconda sucks, Ricochet isn't very fun like it used to be because of trims, and how is our Stunt Track better than your's? They're the same rides! And so what if Firehawk is a used clone? Be thankful KI even has a flyer! If Grizzly and Hurler are as rough as I don't know what then how can you like the two beasts. Grizzly was just retracked and my two 60 year old parents did back to back rides on both of KD wood. First I obviously know they are the same ride, but thaks for the exclamation point! Stunt track at KD is better because ALL the stunts work. BTW nothing at KI is mine I hate that place and I am not that fond of PKD, but the coasters seem more fun to me. BTW who give a rat's crap if a park has a flier. If they were so amazing wouldn't every park have one.
robbalvey
I thought SOB was the smoothest woodie I ever rode. Looking at your CF coaster list there is NO WAY SoB is the smoothest woodie you've ever been on. To name a few, you've been on Jack Rabbit, Racer, Rollo Coaster, Comet, and CP's Blue Streak. How are they rougher than SoB? --Robb

I still have a headache from riding Vortex two weeks ago! That stupid ride left a nice gash on my right knee. And we even rode in the front car of the coaster. Stupid Arrow. FeelTheFORCE
I rode in the front seat. Not one part of SoB was rough. All of the woodies you named are old, old woodies are rough, not a lot, but they are rough nonetheless. Especially Blue Streak, I'm not a real big fan of it. Godwyn
I'm the only one who thought Son Of Beast was an alright ride I actually didn't mind Son of Beast either. Always kept hearing about how bad it was so I was comparing it to The Boss at SFStL (my home park). In my opinion, Boss is much rougher.
All Clear
Can we get back on topic so I can resume gloating about how my home park is rumored to be getting a B&M while others' get Vekomas?

All of the woodies you named are old, old woodies are rough, not a lot, but they are rough nonetheless. Especially Blue Streak, I'm not a real big fan of it. You must have been drugged. Even in the front seat the rose bowl on SoB is one of the roughest moments of any wood coasters I've ever been on. Yes I will agree that SoB is smoother than it used to be, but it's still rough as hell compared to about 99% of the world's wooden coasters I've been on. And to get the full "SoB Experience" you really should ride it in a seat other than the front. Just so you can see what everyone else is talking about, and why people would think you're flippin crazy for saying it's the smoothest woodie you've been on. But to each his own..... --Robb
Erik Johnson
We rode in the first car, but in the 2nd row of SOB (Red Train). While the first drop was not too bad, pretty much the rest of the ride, starting with the beginning of the rose bowl section, really jackhammered us into submission. I think the only smooth part was the section where the loop used to be.
FeelTheFORCE
I never rode SoB pre-loop removal, so I'll never know the difference. I had the chance to, but I chickened out. I was going to ride it a second time in a different seat, but I already rode it by myself once, and my cousin's girlfriend wasn't feeling good and I wasn't going to make them sit there again and wait for me. When I rode it, it had just opened (they opened it around 2:00pm) and I got right on, hence why I got the front seat because there was very little people up there in the station...as I left, there was already a good line forming. I rode in the Blue train, by the way. I plan to return to KI next summer and also hit a few parks around that area as well, so I'll make sure to ride it in a different seat and re-evaluate it, but, as of now, I stand by what I said. Also, I lied, I forgot about Lightning Racer, both of them are much smoother than SoB, so SoB is the third smoothest wooden coaster I was ever on. ms13
Well you need to get to more parks then. Because it was pretty lacklustre when I went there. And people haven't really been coming year for the last 3 years. It's got almost nothing which the other big two Ohio parks don't have already. While I admit I haven't been further west than Cedar Point, and further south than Busch Gardens Virginia, Kennywood is my home park, so I know what makes a great park. Geauga Lake has potential to be a great park, but if it keeps loosing rides, and nothing is put in their place, the park is doomed. If good attractions are put in their place, and the park is cleaned up, then I believe the park will become more popular. That is just my opinion, however. raptor6
All is not totally lost for Geauga Lake! youtube.com/watch?v=K31b3EN8pAc The video is not probably too trustworthy (who am I kidding...this guy has way too much time on his hands and I would bet heavily that he has no idea what he was talking about), but remember all these rumors originated from screamscape. Some hope is better than no hope at all. To observe a more one-sided view of these rumors, take a look at these Geauga Lake Today forums: www.freepowerboards.com/geaugalaketoday/geaugalaketoday-about167-0-asc-0.html

almightyfire
I think that KD is a good place for it instead of KI. KI needs a new coaster also, but they have the beast and son of beast that are real thrilling rides. There isnt nothing that really thrilled me at KD but the flight of fear. Sorry I didnt know the height of Batmanso forgive me for the mistake.
lapseofreason
I won't believe this for now since they're rumors (and I still need my Thunderhawk credit)... but the whole situation with Geauga Lake pisses me off. This was my home park growing up... I went there numerous times, both when it was still Geauga Lake (I think Funtime still owned it then) and when it was a Six Flags. Every time I went there, I really enjoyed it. I remember seeing pictures in another thread of the other waterpark sitting there rotting. It makes me sad because there used to be a really cool kids' area there... I remember my brother marathoning the Rotor, and riding on the little ferris wheel that was over there. Now the Skyscraper, which used to freak me out, sits there among weeds and stuff. I mean, I know waterparks are popular in NE Ohio, but building an entirely new one and letting the area rot is beyond stupid. As for moving the coasters (so far X-Flight and Superman) that happens everywhere... but when they get up to possibly moving 4, I really have a feeling that CF doesn't care about this park. I really don't like the fact that they own it. I mean, I like the name change back to GL and all, but honestly I think the quote about going back to tradition is BS. I agree with the person that said they're out to destroy this park to get more people to go to CP. Now, I haven't been since 2001, but...I'm sure if I went back now, I would still like this park, and I don't want to see it die. The thing about continuing to rip out coasters concerns me because I'm really wondering if this is true, if they'll be totally evil and close the park. Although, whoever said the thing about turning the whole place into condos... I wouldn't put it past Ohio. Maybe they should get rid of the old waterpark finally, move the flats back over, and sell off the Sea World side instead. OK, I'm done ranting. Shockwave
I'm quite glad I hit Geauga Lake when I did. I don't have to trek all the way to Michigan's Adventure again if the SLC ends up there.
