P. 235: "The Curse at Alton Manor" dark ride opens Spring 2023!

Recommended Posts

^So would you say it is a trim break of some sort? Sounds like one

It could very easily be a part of a brake run. Pitch axis angle changes in brake run sections are don all the time nowadays.

You can put brakes on any vertically-curved track if the brakes on the train point downward, which Gerstlauer's usually do.

The car parks are full of Smiler track and supports that are ready to be transported over to the site but nothing of specific note, only thing worth mentioning is two pieces of curved track, like a bunny hop curve with pneumatic magnetic brake fins on..... That's it! Nothing that resembles either lift hills nor this 'secret element'..... You're guess is as good as mine!

I know which one you mean, saw it on some pictures I can't easily retrace. But if you ask me it looks like trimbrakes for the low speed hills between the double dive loop and the Batwing and between the Seaserpent and the Cobra. So the only parts where we can get airtime in the entire ride. It's kinda the only logical place for them. I still wonder though when they get the lift, On the pictures not much new track seems to arrive there.

I think these may be the images you were trying to find.

Credit to towersstreet for the images.

These pieces seem to be some form of a braking system. I would suggest a trim, but the multiple connections underneath the track make it seem as if that piece won't be able to take much negative Gs, if that was for one of the airtime hills. I think it could be for one of the top of the lifts.

^ If it was for the main brakes then it wouldn't be the kind that can be lowered, it would be fixed in position like on Mystery Mine. Those track pieces have a bunch of little connectors coming off of them so I think they may be destined for the top of the first lift (the one that is rumored to be a launch) for trimming purposes.

Looking at the pre-drop that's leads into the first drop. We already need one piece of track to level the track after that we can use 1 of the 2 where stays the other one? Looking at the connections underneath they can make all sorts of supports underneath them so they could catch the negative G on that.

Here's the new update in full. (from a few days ago apparently more track is up today).

Looking as good as ever. There should be another update tonight from TowersTimes.
