Hilltopper39 Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 I never was a huge fan of the B&M Stand-ups with the exception of Riddler at SFMM and Georgia Scorcher was pretty decent. Chang was probably a little bit better than mantis (better layout for Chang, better setting for Mantis) but both rides made my legs hurt like hell.
DJeXeL Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 ^They weren't very popular as the last one built was Georgia Scorcher in '99. Sad, to say the least as Riddler's Revenge is 1 of my favorite coasters.
coasterbill Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 New paint... I have to admit this looks pretty good.
PSiRockin Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 The ride is being sponsored by M&Ms, rigtht? So it fits when they're all the colors... green, brown, yellow, red! Now we just need orange and blue.

Far left right by the red is infact orange (looking at pan tones and by the fact the right/red is darker in color ) and Blue is JUST slightly in the shot on the right side of the image.
PSiRockin Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 ^Yeah, makes sense. I should have noticed that! This promotion makes sense somewhat.
Fooz Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 The fresh paint looks great. I hope they get some landscaping and a good amount of path in that area. I think that corner of the park (and the view from the parking lot) are going to really benefit.
medusa99 Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 The park will have a nice clean new look when driving up. Its a lot better than 2002 when the first coasters you seen was gasm and rolling thunder.

As much as I liked the look of GASM it always bothered me that there was a giant open space between the station and the loops. Seemed like wasted space that could have provided some fun vantage points of the coaster.
CoasterPrince Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 I really like the architecture of the photo booth and station. Way better than the average square building.
tdub96 Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 Its cool to see the transition of a ride's identity, from Chang to G.L. here. I like how there's still yellow on some pieces of track.
alpengeistfan1 Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 The pieces were purposely painted yellow to incorporate "theming" into the ride. They are actually a different shade of yellow than Chang's.
coasterfreak101 Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 I don't understand why there's one green piece in that second corkscrew...weird.
alpengeistfan1 Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 Yes, I do not understand that either. My guess would be that maybe the "tunnels" would go around the bottom parts of the corkscrew and the green top part will be above the tunnels.
signaltwo Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 The green bit of track on the corkscrews may look a little weird from the webcam, but I have a feeling it'll look good looking up at it from the ground. It could work.
UnderCoverDrummer1 Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 It looks like vomit What on earth could someone have possibly eaten to vomit up a green and yellow roller coaster?
MayTheGForceBeWithYou Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Hooray! Can't wait to see the finished product.
larrygator Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Track is complete! Aren't tell supposed to fly an American flag when the track work is complete?
hyyyper Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Track is complete! Aren't tell supposed to fly an American flag when the track work is complete? I thought flag were just for 'highest point reached'-stuff. I could be mistaken tough.
medusa99 Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Putting an american flag up is up to the iron workers and six flags. My guess is they did not make a big deal about the track being complete with media there, they felt no need to put a flag on it. Maybe its just another bodget cut to save some money lol.

Knowing the pride that iron workers take in their job, I find it odd. Not a big deal, I just found strange. I'm glad the project is moving along.
