KBrylczyk Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 I just realized we have no clue what this will look like once the sun goes down. I can only imagine the ridiculous lighting and (hopefully) smoke effects.
Oblivion100 Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 The the theme will be even more darker
ElvisLuv Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 How much room does this park have to grow or is it a case of reinventing what's already there? I understand there's some restrictions on it by the local government.

I understand there's some restrictions on it by the local government. This is being build on the ground that used to house a Western village and the Silbermine darkride. So no growth. They really get a move on now.
Murfie Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Man this coaster looks so awesome! I wonder what the color palette is gonna be once they add more non-rock theming? Is it gonna be really dark and black or is it gonna have a mini village around the station and stuff? How much room does this park have to grow or is it a case of reinventing what's already there? I understand there's some restrictions on it by the local government. I think there was an announcement at some point about them wanting to use any new land they can get their hands on for a waterpark/hotel/conference stuff. And that they want all new attractions to have the level of theming of Chiapas, so I guess they are gonna keep cannibalizing older attractions and areas in the future. Which is fine by me, makes it a really jampacked and unique park .
ElvisLuv Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 This a must do park for me along with Efteling. I don't get to pond hop much so I'm looking for quality and uniqueness not really size.
Paradox Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 Update! Vekoma footers are now on site and more unwrapping and theming is taking place.
coasterkid124 Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 Every picture of this project finds a way to amaze me a little more. A question about the Vekoma footers... Is this a joint project between Intamin and Vekoma? Or are they just doing some subcontracting?

KBrylczyk Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 ^ I swear if it's a friggin' boomerang...
DoinItForTheFame Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 The track on the right side of this photo looks simply... perfect. The track work, and the level of detail seriously just take my breath away. This is going to be such an amazing coaster!!
TyRush Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 Interesting the track doesn't feature Intamin's white friction strips
Coaster Hero Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 ^Not all of their recent coasters have it. I'm assuming it varies by coaster. For example, though a bit different, Skyrush has custom designed wheels designed to bleed speed and slowly decrease pacing throughout the course, made of a custom polyurethane blend. It was suited for the design. In Taron's case, I guess friction strips aren't going to be necesary
rcjp Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 Interesting the track doesn't feature Intamin's white friction strips I'm sorry if I sound ignorant but which white friction strips?
johnnyknottsville Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 Interesting the track doesn't feature Intamin's white friction strips I'm sorry if I sound ignorant but which white friction strips? That White line that's on the track is the friction strips I believe their talking about.
rcjp Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 ^Oh, thanks. I assumed that was just the paint coming off as the track got used (never noticed new coasters had those too)
johnnyknottsville Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 ^This is my first time ever hearing it referred to as a friction strip, Intamin is the only coasters I've ever see it on. I didn't know it had any purpose far as friction, I thought it was just something Intamin did to their tracks lol
TyRush Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 They are found from a couple manufacturers, if I remember correctly it is to help with friction between the wheels and track (obviously) to lower the wheel maintenance. Correct me if I'm wrong!
KingRCT3 Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 This strip is a special coat of paint and help the contact between wheels and rail to be smoother and lose less speed. Many Intamin have those, but Karnan have a few section with them as well. It's up to the park to ask for them or not... but it's like super expensive! I don't remember the exact price I've been told, but it's certainly not "just a white strip".

I don't remember the exact price I've been told, but it's certainly not "just a white strip". Are you sure that it is both: 1.) Super expensive? -and- 2.) Optional? I only ask this because almost every single Intamin coaster has these "white stripes" on the track. Even family coasters. If it is "super expensive" I really wouldn't think a smaller park would put it on a really small family coaster. Seems like at that point it would just be a waste of money. Also, if they were optional, why does almost every single Intamin coaster have them? I feel like if it were optional, and expensive we would see them on a lot less coasters than what we see them on.
KingRCT3 Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 Altaïr at Cinecittà has them, not Crazy Coaster at Loca Joy. Both are the same 10 inversions coaster. That doesn't prove my point, and I'm not sure, no. That's what I heard for someone who has a foot in the industry and certainly had to ask manufacturers for some budget estimations, so I trust him on that.
RCT3Bross Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Just found some fresh photo's, also just went back in this thread to look at the ride at the beginning of the month, it's insane how much goes down here in little time. So I'm going to show you these pictures and tell you how it looked at September 1ste: In the back we see our rock wall without Scaffolding, 26 days ago it was still there. Also the little rock towers steel frame was placed at the first day of this month, but the most notable is the wood work, all that uncovered wood has been placed these last few days: Like this wood work: All footers where nothing but concrete pillars at the start of the month now they're amazing, also a lot of track got out of it's cover: At the star of the month this had only shape, no texture no life, right now it's out of Scaffolding: Again awesome details: At the start of the month they where still busy getting the concrete walls up of this trench, Now they dug a deep hole: Also let's not forget the new footers shall we: Source and more. Okay a lot happened this month alone it's only a guess how far this ride is next month, Earlier fears of this ride not being done in 2016 have lowered but still it's a big area and they're far from finished as it looks right now. But the main reason I wanted to let you guys know is that we soon will reach November in wich we most likely have no or just a few updates with the park being closed. So I expect a large step up in December when the park is open again.
DoinItForTheFame Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Oh. My. Sweet. Baby. Jesus. That coaster is simply beautiful. I haven't seen a roller coaster this visually appealing in a LONG time. I know I have said it before, but the level of detail on this project is simply amazing. Like...
