AllenA07 Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 I'm an astronomy nerd, but I really enjoy Sky Walk and Solar Walk on the iPad. When working with the telescope neither are going to replace a traditional Star Atlas. However it does a good job of giving you a general idea of where things are and gives some great information about the objects yours looking at. The back light does cause some havoc with my night vision however, even in "red mode." The telrad mode is also really useful! Now if you're looking for a "boring app" I can't say enough good about iAnnotate. If you work with a lot of PDF's this is really a fantastic program. I'm already amazed at how much money this one is saving me in printing costs.
nitro4ever Posted April 14, 2012 Posted April 14, 2012 Temple run is a great little game for iOS. If you haven't played it, you should.
Ace Of Spades Posted April 14, 2012 Posted April 14, 2012 Naaah. But seriously, Tiny Tower. If management games pique your interest, you can't go wrong with this one. It's slow to start, for sure, and it does get redundant, but there's no better game to play in tiny increments. Absolutely this. It's the only "Free-to-Play, Pay-to-go-Fast" game I've ever let near my phone, and for good reason: it's the only one that doesn't make you feel like an illegal immigrant for not buying "coins" or "bux". Game's fully playable for free, and a boatload of fun. I absolutely love it, and definitely recommend it to...everyone really.
molemaster43 Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 I am updating my list of recommended apps: Angry Birds (All 4 Editions): Shoot those dastardly pigs and make sure they regret being born (All versions $0.99)(Some have free versions) Draw Something: Draw a picture and have your friend guess, or vice-versa. ($0.99 or $1.99)(Also a free version) Jetpack Joyride: Dodge lasers and zappers as you collect coins in this fun little game (Free) Paper Toss (All 3 Versions): Throw some paper into a garbage can in this very addicting game (All are free) The Price is Right Decades: Play many of the classic pricing games and win showcases - VERY ADDICTING ($0.99) Temple Run: Escape the hybrid monkey-spider things as you avoid dying (Free)
gisco Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 Don't have many that are great but the one I use the most is from Family Tree. I'm into Genealogy and I can do research from my iphone or ipad and it will automatically sync to my desktop.
Hang And Bang Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 I went back a few pages and didn't see anyone mention it, so I'd suggest GetGlue. It's a check-in/social network app for movies, music, tv shows, games, books, and general topics (including roller coasters!) I'm totally addicted to it!
Angry_Gumball Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 I recommend "Roller Coaster Trivia." Go download it and you'll see why! It's not just some lame trivia but some pretty good stuff!
Hhappy Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 I recommend "Roller Coaster Trivia." Go download it and you'll see why! It's not just some lame trivia but some pretty good stuff!
SoCalCoasters Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 I recommend "Roller Coaster Trivia." Go download it and you'll see why! It's not just some lame trivia but some pretty good stuff! And I have the high score. +100 nerd points for me. In all seriousness, it is a pretty fun app.
Jojo19799 Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Anybody else playing The Simpsons Tapped Out? Hanno, I know you posted about this months ago, but I just heard about The Simpsons Tapped Out last week! Of course I downloaded it and I'm already addicted to it. And for those of you who have not, download the Roller Coaster Trivia app. You won't be disappointed.
jray21 Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 I'm currently playing Offroad Legends, an off-road truck racing side scroller game, and Pudding Monsters, from the Cut The Rope makers.
Wes Posted February 10, 2013 Author Posted February 10, 2013 I'm having a lot of fun with Scribblenauts. Very addicting!
Zem Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Shadow era is a very fun TCG for iOS that is really fun. ChronoTrigger is now on iOS and is considered by many one of the best games ever made. Hundreds is another great game as well as The Room for iPad.
gisco Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 I have been playing Star Wars Angry Birds lately. A little bit different than Angry Birds
DCA_Chris Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Been striving for AAA+ Full Combos recently in Reflec Beat. Imagine musical futuristic cyber table tennis. Here's the arcade version: [youtu_be] [/youtu_be] Plays pretty much the same on iPad, only a little smaller. Try it out, it's free!
SuperShawn Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 I have been playing Star Wars Angry Birds lately. A little bit different than Angry Birds I've been obsessively playing this lately too. Mixed with Angry Birds Space. When one has a level that gets too irritating I switch to the other for a bit.
jray21 Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Been playing Ghostbusters. It's fun, but nothing amazing. It's free, but it's one of those games with a lot of premium items. I haven't bought anything, and don't plan to, but it takes quite a while to move up levels. https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/ghostbusters/id583354857?mt=8
cedarpointfangirl Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 I came across "Waze". It is a traffic app. This is one of my most used apps. Basically it is people around your location that send traffic notifications in and around your location. You can also send the notification. Drivers helping other drivers. Police, accidents, heavy traffic, road hazards. It will voice alert you if you are approaching an accident within a few miles of the route you are traveling on. My work schedule puts me in the heart of rush hour morning and evening. My drive is 35 miles plus each way. It has been extremely helpful. It has helped me avoid heavy traffic, accidents. It gives me time to find an alternate route.
Zcev5454 Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 "What's The Phrase" from Zynga is great! It's basically the phone version of Wheel of Fortune, but had a much nicer interface than the official Sony app.
Zem Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 LetterPress is an amazing word game that you guys should try out. It's really fun and involves more strategy than the standard mobile word game. It's free but you can pay if you want more than 2 games going at once. SpaceTeam is another amazing iOS game revolves around multiplayer play with others in the same room as you. You have to tell your friends what to operate on their own control panel while trying to take commands for your own in order to fly your space ship through various hazards. It's completely free so I'd recommend giving it a try with some friends or family members.
