DiSab Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 I bet $20 they'll try to call the incline loop the "Thorpe Park Loop." But seriously, this is looking like a solid ride. Looking forward to seeing it run.
WFChris Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 I glad to finally see a drop that I've been making for years in No limits come to life I'm glad I wasn't the only one thinking this when this ride was announced!
andyuk200523 Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 Swarms Corkscrew has been completed and also the first drop plane has been started..... Photo from Go Merlin on Facebook Looking good Swarm
bundy2989 Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 New update on facebook from the developers diary.
andyuk200523 Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 Nice to see different angles however I wish Thorpe wouldn't post old photos!!! In the 3rd one they haven't even started constructing the corkscrew, yet in the photo I posted it is complete! I am all for Dev diaries, however they need to be up to date, honestly Thorpe!
Ed Farmer Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 With the similarities between the two, I'm curious to see if that trim brake made it onto X-Flight's design.
sammmmmy Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 I almost forgot about the theming for this ride! That airplane's gonna look amazing to riders!
Bryce232 Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 I really can't wait to see the heart-line roll and the scenery that it goes through. The station looks great too!
gisco Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 Nice to see different angles however I wish Thorpe wouldn't post old photos!!! In the 3rd one they haven't even started constructing the corkscrew, yet in the photo I posted it is complete! I am all for Dev diaries, however they need to be up to date, honestly Thorpe! Doesn't seem like they are as excited as the rest of us as to what is going on!
nemesis-storm Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 Swarm's track is completed Diary FB Link here
Gerstlauer1 Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 Thanks for posting! That coaster is looking great! I like how the airplane ticket to Heathrow is very cheap from Copenhagen...
Bryce232 Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 Is it just me or does the design make it look rather small? Oh well, the scenery should make it super awesome. Two wings down, one more to go. Come on Six Flags!
andybarnes84 Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 In typical UK fashion the ride will be very short but well themed, Wild Eagle this ain't! But that first drop should be interesting if taken fast enough. Strange to have another church themed station after thirteen but hopefully this one will look a little more impressive
dominoes Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 ^This station looks much bigger and more impressive! Plus, it doesn't have an annoying electric thingy...
jason10 Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 I do agree that the station does seem to be very impressive, let alone the rest of the ride. It will be interesting to see the plane once it has all been constructed along with the rest of the themeing. The interaction looks superb! I'd love for there to be some sort of splash element on the turnaround over the water.
Bryce232 Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 They're starting to test the clearance between the coaster and its theming/supports/track. Photos courtesy of Developer's Diary on FB The signature twisteee! "In many places, the track structure is a near miss in himself" It's a tight fit!
RollerCoasterSmi Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 ^ Great pictures, it looks like The Swarm will have alot of head & arm choppers. On that last picture it appears that the envelope tester touches the theming, I don't doubt B&M or Thorpe but it does look really close (almost too close)...
Bryce232 Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 It's a REALLY tight fit... from Developer's Diary on Facebook
dominoes Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 This could rival that copy at Six Flags...
thrillrideseeker Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Wow!! That is very close, but amazingly awesome!! ~Matt
Jerrykoala2112 Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Is it even closer than the X Raptor fly through? This ride is shaping out very well!
