P. 469: Hard-Hat Tour of the Wolf's Revenge

Chuck, thanks for heading over yet again. Verbolten is coming along really all. Something new and exciting, all while paying homage to what was there before it! I'm really looking forward to seeing the covered bridge done.

I didn't realize how large the event building was! It looked much smaller in older pics before the walls went up. Perspective is he darndest thing

Is Verbolten's drop over the river taller than Big Bad Wolf's was?

Rcdb.com mentions a drop of 88 feet for Verbolten, and says that Big Bad Wolf's final drop was 80 feet.

They drained the lake/"river" so maybe they tied them to a place where they won't hit the bottom?

That last drop looks more intense than the Wolf's. I don't believe it...

OH my god Chuck! How did you capture this amazing ritual? I have heard of it mentioned before, but never thought it to be true as they are a very shy species and have weight issues. But, it appears that you have captured the never before seen Rhine Riverboat mating ritual. It will be wonderful to see a bunch of little riverboats flitting about in the spring of 2012. Ahhhh amore' in the attraction industry. This is a day to remember and savor.

I'm just glad that BGW is getting its own launch coaster that really has nothing in common with Cheetah Hunt. It's nice that they're finally doing something more original and making the multi-launch part the only similarity between the two. Thanks for the update!

Wow. I always wondered where the pedal paddle boats came from... it's the effects of the riverboat mating rituals.

Nice job Chuck- you could get a job as a nature photographer, showing these rare and beautiful animals in their native lands. (And the Zierer Porn was -quite good- as well!)

This is what the I'd expect from a new animal planet show.

I wonder what kind of seeds they used to grow the footers. I would imagine they would be some sort of hybrid seed being as once they sprout above ground a strange piece of metal protrudes.

I see brake fins! Does this mean confirm that the bridge will be a MCBR?

I know if I were driving onto a bridge only to realize it was broken, I'd brake. Just saying. This ride's trains are themed as cars, after all.

^That's an excellent point. I hope there's an appropriate squealing-tires sound effect, along with the smell of burning rubber, before you plunge.

I cant tell if Im excited about this or not...

One one hand, its a terrain launch coaster through the trees with a freefall drop.

On the other hand, that freefall drop reminds me of Thirteen and how much it disappointed me, and I really hope Verbolten wont do the same.

^ But BGW isn't advertising this drop section as the most terrifying element of any coaster, ever. This coaster has been entirely advertised as an extreme family coaster. As long as you go on this ride with expectations for a fun experience, I think you'll love it!
