Philrad71 Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 New York smells like A$$ I would say that here in Western NY, we smell more like Holstein cow ass or Lake Erie dead-fish-on-the-shore ass and not the stereotypical "someone farted next to me on the subway in Mid-town Manhattan ass." Our pro sports teams play like said ass. We had a chance to get a Bass Pro Shop in downtown Buffalo, but I think the deal fell through when they realized it was really not going to be called Ass Pro Shop. Most people around these parts still say, "Hey dude, I got me a piece of ass last night" and yep, they are also sportin' mullets and will buy out the tickets to our local ice arena if REO Speedwagon or Asia plays here (it really happened). Ohhhh....one could only dream of Darien Lake, Fantasy Island or Waldameer getting a new water ride and letting us make up a name for it! Alabaman's are soooo lucky!
thrillerman1 Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 In the words of B.R.M.C., "Whatever happened to my rock and roll?". At least the park comes off looking good in the vid.
SharkTums Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 I'd like to submit a name...now, full disclosure it's a total ripoff of the coolest name ever... KERSPLASH!!!!!!!
BarryH Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 How about "the Dothan Dive" or the "Decatur Dive?"
CoasterGuy06 Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 The basketball shot made by The Legendary Shots from Stratos Fear Screamer is featured in a new commercial for Flip
DBru Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 ]Also, can we start a grassroots movement to get this ride named The Alabama Hot Pocket? Gross. I love Urban Dictionary... On a different note, I'm very fortunate to live in a state that isn't known for a single stereotype.
Guy T. Koepp Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 ^Your kidding right? Doesn't everybody in Kentucky work for Col. Sanders? Guy " http://www.123helpme.com/preview.asp?id=105023 " Koepp
CoasterGuy06 Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 The park has announced the winning name and it is......Buzzsaw Falls. The ride will be built by SkyTrans Manufacturing. More information can be found here.
SamMarrs Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Buzzsaw Falls? To me, that just sounds so "meh"... I wish they would have found a more unique name. Alot of parks go along with the sawmill theme for their log flume or shoot-the-chutes ride. Oh well, I hope this marks the start of alot more expansion at Alabama Adventure! The park's been getting quite a bit of publicity lately.
netdvn Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 ^ It's a log flume... What do you expect? Anyway, the name is actually decent. Even though it shares the same name as the former Buzzsaw Falls at SDC, making it slightly less original, it's still a solid name nevertheless. Birthday - It's a step above Blackstone's new trend in naming rides (Mach Tower, Dragon Challenge, Cheetah Hunt) - Boy
DBru Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 I entered Tallapoosa Plunge (river in Alabama)...I thought it sounded kind of cool/different... And yes, Guy, I was totally kidding.
CoasterGuy06 Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 Hey guys! Alabama Adventure has released some concept art of Buzzsaw Falls that shows off the ride, its logo, and the plaza area around the ride. Some photos of land clearing have been osted to their Facebook page, and they say they will have photos of the concrete work up in a week or so. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Alabama-Adventure/78871446304 New for 2011! Buzzsaw Falls!
Shavethewhales Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 Hmm, I though there'd be a bit more too it than that, though the description never really promised more. Will it really be that shallowly sloped? Why SkyTrans Manufacturing and not Hopkins though? Or is this actually a Hopkins that SkyTrans is manufacturing?
samisthabomb Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 ^I sure hope it's steeper. I like the logo!

Will it really be that shallowly sloped? Why SkyTrans Manufacturing and not Hopkins though? Or is this actually a Hopkins that SkyTrans is manufacturing? There is some connection between the two. The old Hopkins president Jerry Pendleton is now running SkyTrans.
CoasterGuy06 Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Buzzsaw Falls has finally been topped off. I have attached a couple of pictures of it below plus a picture of something else that is "new" this year. Buzzsaw Falls topped off. It looks quit good in its setting. Looking up the lift. Hrmm.....what does this black train belong to?
twilight79 Posted May 21, 2011 Posted May 21, 2011 I'm thinking that the black train belongs to the Rampage, just with a new paint scheme for this season. Alabama Adventure did add a chain restaurant to the food vendors this year, "McAlister’s Deli" that is a big improvement. Buzz Saw Falls is almost completed. See the Park making routine test runs on their face book page. http://www.facebook.com/AlabamaAdventure?ref=ts
Devious Posted May 21, 2011 Posted May 21, 2011 Buzzsaw Falls has finally been topped off. I have attached a couple of pictures of it below plus a picture of something else that is "new" this year. New Trains for rampage? Yeah, definitely going to have to make it a point to be by there this year
twilight79 Posted May 21, 2011 Posted May 21, 2011 Wouldn’t it be cool if they added a big coaster like goliath, or dare devil of sfog in the woods behind wild river gorge? I've heard from a couple of people that the pirate ship isn't running again this season, that is really disappointing but may be they will replace it with a different ride if they can't keep it up and running
CoasterGuy06 Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 Both of Rampage's trains were painted black. They are still the same, but the one still in rehab had all of its wood replaced.
twilight79 Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 (edited) Buzz Saw Falls is now open! From what I hear everybody loves it! They actually added some theme to this ride, looks good. Buzz Saw Falls Buzz Saw Falls See more photos and video on their face book page. Edited May 29, 2011 by twilight79
samisthabomb Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 Wow! They really did a great job with this ride. Unlike some small parks, it doesn't look like they just plopped it down in that specific location. The landscaping is nice as well. I know that when I visited the park back in 2010, I was very impressed. The only thing that bothered me was lack of shade. Other than that, I loved the park! I hope to see more development around the place in the near future.
