Weird Roller Coaster Dreams

Recommended Posts

Last night I had a dream that, rather than being placed about in pieces at Frontier City, Excalibur was relocated from Astroworld to some really stacked (like Grona Lund) Six Flags that sprang up in 2000. It also had a huge mountainy facade, kinda like BMRX or something, and the MCBR above the first drop got a fake viaduct built around it. It was painted brown and white, technically the same scheme as Fiesta Texas' Arrow mine train.

I dreamed about walking along the free way to a park with 6 RMC coasters. There is an RMC family coaster with blue track and white wooden supports, an RMC Invert (steel) with 4 across seating trains and 8 inversions, an RMC woodie like Wildfire at the top of a mountain, a yellow RMC steel coaster with purple supports that is around 250ft tall, an RMC mine train and an RMC launch steel coaster. I even remember the layout of some of them and I felt ejector airtime in my dream!

Another fun thing is the park offers a $35 Club TPR discount.

Could you describe them in detail? I'd love to make a NoLimits mockup.

Not a coaster, but I had a dream that I was on a Windseeker (Cedar Point) but instead of doing the normal cycle (up slowly, spin around on top, come down slowly) it went up slowly, then dropped (like a drop tower). Then it did the normal cycle. I thought that this is actually a good idea, a Windseeker/drop tower!

Because a wind seeker doesn't already have enough downtime.

Last night, I had a dream about how I went to Yomiuriland just to ride Bandit. I was there when the park opened, and I ran to Bandit with other park guests in a manner that the GP runs to X2 when Magic Mountain opens. So I get in the queue, and after some indoor switchbacks, the line goes at least 3 stories up some ramps, and then it goes under the station and it passes by some bedroom. I woke up when I got to the loading platform, I woke up.

Last night, I had a dream that I was at Holiday World, and when I rode Thunderbird, it apparently had Superman theming. It was still the same orange B&M wing-coaster that it is in real life, but on the ride itself, there was Superman theming along the track in sort of a Bizzaro-SFGAdv style.

Prior to riding I305, I had a dream where I was waiting in line. I waited at least three hours through rain, thunder, and a bunch of break downs. Then, on another random coaster (for some reason it looked like Wicked Cyclone...) nearby, the train derailed and ran into the crowd waiting for I305 behind me, killing a lot of people. I still didn't leave line. And when I got to ride, I sat down, the cable connected to the car, and I woke up.

Then, there was when I was at WDW with parent, siblings, and one cousin. We spent the day in a really different version of Magic Kingdom, then stayed at a hotel nearby Hollywood Studios/MGM. My cousin and I saw ToT and jumped out of the window of our fifth-story hotel room, and ended up in another Disney park alive and well. We went around, saw a few people I knew, and then came across some sort of large countdown clock with a man in a space suit on. When the clock reached zero, my cousin and I were on some sort of RMC, and watched the crowd start cheering. Then, the astronaut man started to choke himself to death with some woman (wife?) watching on.

(Weird note: I woke up the next day and Niel Armstrong was dead... )

I once had a roller coaster dream 20+ years ago - I was riding on Viper at SFMM, it got stuck on one of the loops, then became the Matternhorn at Disneyland. In that dream, I was trying to figure out how I went from being on Viper, to Matternhorn, and super disappointed because I wasn't sure how to get back on Viper, and was confused how I got from from one park to the other.

All my life I've always had dreams about amusement parks, even ones I've never been to. Usually it's about being on a roller coaster. Both bad and good dreams.

A bad dream.

I was on Limit at Heide Park (never been) and I apparently murdered the ride attendant before getting in the ride. And I've never ridden a Vekoma SLC before but in the dream my head was knocked around like everyone says they do. Then when I got off I set the station on fire. And I'm not a sociopath either so I don't know why I did this.

A good dream.

I went to Busch Gardens in Tampa (never been but soon to change) and I was with my friend Jasmyn and a bunch of little 8 to 10 year old children (mostly boys). I remember going on Montu all by myself and apparently having all my bags while on the ride and nearly losing them. But then I met Jasmyn and the kids and we rode this kiddie ride that I do not remember what it was. Then, we all rode Sheikra (which Jasmyn has told me before she would never ride it but in the dream she did) and the kids were pretty quiet but Jasmyn and I were making weird snarling sounds and the kids were looking at us like "WTF are you guys doing?" Then I woke up and was so sad to find out that didn't actually happen.

Any amusement park related dreams you wanna share? Good or bad?

I have park/coaster dreams quite often.

One of the recurring ones:

I'm a passenger in a car that is approaching SFGadv. Suddenly from above the treetops the skyline appears.

I'm surprised and delighted to see that they've compressed the entire coaster line up into one footprint. Every coaster is still there and functioning, they've just moved and/or reprofiled them all into a single, tangled mess of interacting near-misses.

El Toro has been moved to the centre of Ka. Nitro weaves in and out of El Toro and the hammerhead turn now "thread's the needle" of Superman's pretzel loop.

You get the idea.

In my dream I always grab the updated park map and become hopelessly lost trying to navigate my way through the clutter to find the new entrance to El Toro.

I had probably the saddest, worst coaster dream (or nightmare) I've ever had the other night. I dreamed that I went to HP and to my dismay Skyrush was not running. So I left the park that day hoping that it would be running the next time I visited, but I came on this site to try to see why it might be down and I found to my horror that Hershey had plans to get rid of Skyrush, as they considered it to be too intense. Worse yet, I discovered that they had plans to sell it to Silverwood, of all places, and I was crushed, since I didn't know if I'd ever go out west and I'd never be able to ride it again. So (and obviously I was Donald Trump wealthy in this dream) I contacted HP and offered them more for Skyrush than Silverwood had offered them, and I bought the coaster. I had it dismantled and stored on one of my properties (clearly I had much more than the one acre I currently live on!), and I was walking around looking at the pieces of track waiting for the day I would be able to ride it again.

So then I set about trying desperately to find a park here on the east coast (preferably within driving distance from me) that would buy and install Skyrush. I tried to sell it to SFA, KD and even BGE. For some reason I had to find a place for it soon, and I was getting all the more desperate trying to keep it close by. I woke up as I was still trying to find Skyrush a home close to me.

But the irony is of course (as obviously dreams make no sense) if I had enough money to buy Skyrush, I would have been able to climb aboard my private jet and go to Silverwood and ride it as often as I pleased!

I had a dream where I was on Volcano and the volcano actually erupted for some reason and there was ash and lava everywhere but for some reason it didn't touch us. The layout was much different than in real lift, it was miles long and wove around the park and the volcano erupting and us speeding away made it one insane dream. About a month later I actually went on it for the first time

I've had a reoccurring lucid dream of riding Maverick, and at the apex of the 95 degree drop, I fly out of the back seat. Right before I hit the ground, I wake up, flailing my arms and legs all over the place. I've had it enough that I just find it funny now, and I flail around, and then laugh to myself and go back to sleep.

I had two roller coaster dreams in two nights in late June.

The first one was that I finally got to go to Cedar Point with my dad, and the weather was dark and stormy without clouds/rain/thunder. The first thing we rode was Raptor, then Rougarou. For some reason, the park was very cramped with food stands (but everything was a walk-on) and had roughly the same layout as SFFT. Raptor was where IRat is and Rougarou was where Boomerang is. Then we walked over to Maverick (which was located in Spassburg) and one of the trains started glitching down off of the track like it sometimes does in TPS if you left it running too long before the x64 update. I then woke up and for the rest of the week all I wanted to do was go to CP and ride Raptor and Rougarou

The second one was where I was on some kiddie coaster, but it had the most extreme laterals and airtime ever. We were just getting thrown around like ragdolls and it was super fun. I woke up with a sudden urge to ride a kiddie coaster

Thread Necromancy!

I have been having weird dreams lately, where I am in a park near the entrance and trying to get to a specific attraction, but as I try to get there I keep getting distracted by new rides I have never seen before. The longer I dream the less sense things make, to the point where the park starts to look completely different to its real-life version. For example, I dreamt that Silverwood suddenly had a set of Premier launched shuttles like Batman & Robin: The Chiller, even though I have never seen or been on that ride

That dream is weirder than Radiohead's music video for paranoid android. And that says A LOT.

-Ate on a picnic table at Parc Asterix with a silhouette of OzIris in the background (which looked NOTHING like the actual ride). We took a monorail and looked at a defunct coaster in pieces, that looked like a Schwarzkopf and Pinfari coaster merged together.

-Went to Alton Towers. Was walking in the X-Sector and watched Oblivion. I walked to a tiny river with tons of litter dumped into it. Runaway Mine Train went past it.

-Went to Adventure Island, with one of the park's halves filled with rides - but they're defunct. Left the park riding nothing - even though half the rides were open.

-Was riding Slammer with a large crowd on some seats. I put my hands up as it started spinning. The dream then cuts to me breakdancing on the restraints.

-Was going to Cedar Point. It was midday. Went to ride MF (with only the lift hill and station, nothing else) but couldn't ride it because it was getting late. We drove home and it started raining. I was dropped off at a school for babies and locked in.
