Mechanic Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Chalk up another only Goliath here. (And S:TE if it counted)
VegasCoaster Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 I've been on three and will be on four as soon as I can find the time to drive up to the Dallas area.
IggyACE Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 7/10 for me. Â Steel Dragon could have been my 300th but was not open during my visit! Â Fujiyama also broke the morning we were there!
CoasterFanatic Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 400+ Coasters and I have been on a whopping 4 of those. Â // Very sad
rcdude Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 I've been on three. Â Since Goliath is at one of my local parks, I've been on it many times. However, I've only been on Millennium Force and Top Thrill Dragster once each. I really would have liked to ride them once or twice more on my visit but I didn't have time.
deano Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 5/10 for me, time for another holiday. Â I thought Goliath and Titan were the exact same height and drop?
Keasbey Nights Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Goliath at Magic Mountain, Millennium Force, Dragster. Â Once I become of age and get a job, I'll hit up the rest, with the possible exception of those Japanese ones.
macca_boy69 Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 If Tower Of Terror Counts(which it should) i have ridden 1/12
andyuk200523 Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Unfortunatly 0/10 for me, although SilverStar will be getting ridden later this year
hansrubens Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 4/10  Silverstar - Millennium Force - TTD - Kingda Ka  After the West Coast Trip it will be 6/10.   ----Hans
SuperShawn Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 3/10 for me. Â Goliath, Thunder Dolphin, and Fujiyama.
coolcalicoaster Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 If Tower Of Terror Counts(which it should) i have ridden 1/12 Â It isn't on the list, so NO it shouldn't count.
monsterfan99 Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 2 - MF and Top Thrill this last weekend. Even that was close because of the damn seat belts.
What Now Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 I've been on 4 (STE and ToT are on that list. btw)
raptor6 Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Hey I just tried the link again and they now count Tower of Terror and Superman: The Escape as coasters, knocking off Goliath and Silver Star.  Here's the descriptions:  #4 Tower of Terror - Dreamworld, Gold Coast, Australia - 377 feet How tall is the Tower of Terror? Tall enough that 2.2 megawatts of power are needed to drive the motors during the incline, enough energy to power a small town. This six to seven second period momentarily doubles Dreamworld's power usage.  #3 Superman: The Escape - Six Flags Magic Mountain, Valencia California - 415 feet Built in 1997, Superman: The Escape is a faithful recreation of the Superman experience, down to a Fortress of Solitude loading area featuring the John Williams movie score. It also features a super top speed of 100 mph.  Still doesn't change my number however:  2/10 - Millennium Force and Top Thrill Dragster  Both of which are connivently at my home park of Cedar Point
coolcalicoaster Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 I just don't understand "Superman, Ultimate Scrap Metal" being on this list. Just cause the tower itself is 415 ft means nothing. It only goes half way up the tower. So if TTD added a 50 foot spike on top of the ride would that make it the tallest coaster in the world? It would be the same as counting Superman as a 415 ft ride.
davidmorton Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Ummm... 12 then. Â (assuming the list changed at some point (from reading this thread), otherwise 10 )
nannerdw Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 I've only been on 2, MF and TTD. Â At least their list is accurate this time, unlike those annoying "Top ten best rides!" lists that always go something like... 1. Kingda Ka 2. Son of Beast 3. Mean Streak...
packfanlv Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Since Silver Star is gone then my number is 8/10. If you count all 12 then it is 9/12 for me.
RCFreak Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 I just don't understand "Superman, Ultimate Scrap Metal" being on this list. Just cause the tower itself is 415 ft means nothing. It only goes half way up the tower. So if TTD added a 50 foot spike on top of the ride would that make it the tallest coaster in the world? It would be the same as counting Superman as a 415 ft ride. Â Why is it such a big deal for you?
The Bebes Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 I (Mr. Bebe) have to agree with coolcalicoasters. Â Not only does S:TE only ascend to about 325ft (on a good day), it also starts a good 50 feet above ground level. Hardly the ride they make it sound like. TTD and KK are truly 400+ foot monsters that actually carry the passengers to those extremes. Â Now, if S:TE mnaged to get people near the top, that would be another story.
Josh Linn Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Just three: Kingda Ka, Millennium Force, and Dragster.
