I thoughts about what does the “Dr. Diabolical’s” tease could me, but a scenario pop up

what if it doesn’t gotta do with changing the existing ride, but instead it’s a followip attraction like a Vekoma Madhouse

Just imagine it: across the street from Cliffhanger where they have the Slaughterhouse 6 maze is now Dr. Diabolical’s mansion where she invited you to get more fears outta you

I'm not talking shit, but it strikes me as funny how the new chef will be offering... burgers, pizza, and chicken fingers. How novel. 😆

SFoG gave us the exact same spiel last summer.  New chef, new hand breaded chicken fingers, new pizza and burgers.

Can't wait for the new pizza at the old SF parks! /s

will try it Sat, and see how they stack up.. but I'm hearing they are a great improvement over the burgers Bubbas and the Rockville Cafe used to serve.

Surf coaster dive machine cars.  Then they're gonna change the name to Dr. Diabolical's Cliffjumper.  Continuing to follow in SFOG's footsteps, they're also going to repaint the ride and have it SBNO for a full year.

I don't want to, though.  I'd rather imagine a decent change.

mainly about how post merger the park got permission to hire a full time main chef, and they've already started improving the food.  Launching 4 new options (a new burger, 2 new pizzas, and hand breaded Chicken fingers).   and that the merger also gave them the ok to rename and update unique experiences (Chubacabra stuff), as well as getting unique merch for certain coasters/events.    So all in all, he believes the merger is good for SFFT in particular (as "they gave us everything we wanted!")

he also talked about improvements thruout the park with painting/updating things.  (including the new - and now open - Daily Planet that serves as the entrance/exit to Superman & the exit for Supergirl.

there was a good focus on DCUniverse, and how the Monorail is now testing, and they expect to have the whole area open by Spring Break - which would be early March (I THINK that's the timeframe he gave), and apologized about Kid Flash.  He had no updates on it, but said that they continue to work with the Manufacturer, and that it's still considered SBNO.

Sangerfest Hall is finally getting finished with it's update, and that wall will be coming down, which will not only add more seating, but also bring back a single service line, where you won't have to go to separate queues for different dishes to make a meal.

he also said that tho it won't be ready for 2025, they are working on a drink pkg option for 2026 that will tie to the pass holder, and give the option of using a paper cup or a refillable cup for drinks.  but again, that won't be in 2025.

he talked about Dr. Diabolical again, reminding how they had lowered the height requirement, so 'she could enter into Pediatrics now". . .and once again teased that she was not satisfied, and demanded a meeting with the Ride Manufacturers and park mgmt.    so SOMETHING is coming in regards to that in 2025. . either a small flat added in the area, or some tweak to the ride?   No idea what it could be. . it's already themed to death, so it can't really be more theming.    But we'll find out more "later this year"

other than that, and the schedule of 2025 events, that was pretty much it.

Man I hope some of these changes extend to the other legacy SF parks! I've been waiting for the paper cup option for a long time, the refillable cups are such a pain to carry around. And as far as most SF food, for the most part it can only get better, and while burgers/pizza/fingers are a rather dull "improvement" and I would like to see some different stuff......at this point I'll take it if they are truly better. Although I would sure love a grilled cheese stand like at KI; Tom & Chee is the greatest grilled cheese that ever was or will be and I won't hear anything bad about it!

I actually got to meet Chef Rudy on Saturday. . . and the new pizzas looked amazing, as did the new chicken fingers.

(didn't get to try the burgers).

very nice guy who came over to SFFT from being the chef for the Spurs.

I know they still do some work for GCI but surely that alone isn't enough to keep them in business. How do you mess up a kiddie coaster this badly though? Glad I happened to get the credits by sheer luck at SFOG last year when I was there.

I got to attend the opening of the DCUniverse area the other weekend at Six Flags Fiesta Texas (it also overlapped with the Mardi Gras celebration, so did some of that too).

the area looks great, and with this open now, SFFT has the biggest assortment of DC Universe themed rides in North America (even if we don't count Kid Flash, which has been a paperweight for a long time now, and seeing the announcements that it's getting removed?  just confirms whatever lawsuit was going on is now concluded).

anyways. . here's some pics.

my quick takes on the 3 brand new rides?

Cyborg (Nebulaz) - it's great, running both forwards and in reverse, with heavy theming (Kilg%re takes over control of the quantum mechanism and makes the ride go crazy) - forwards is slightly more nauseating than the backwards portion.   I actually fit in this Nebulaz, tho I saw many people get walks of shame - so if you don't fit in a seat, ask to try another one, as even tho they claim the seats are all the same?  some of them have slightly longer seat belt clamps and I had no issue riding - 1st time I've ever fit on a Nebulaz.

Shazam (spinning drop tower) - a very gentle ride, it reminded me a LOT of the SFOT parachute drop.   really long cycle, and more of an upscale "bounce tower" than a drop tower.   looks amazing at night with the lighting package.

Metropolis Transit Authority  ("Monorail") - the station is a *stunner*.. . subway tile, and a queue that looks like waiting at a train station.   the ride itself is a bit short (shorter than I expected it to be, and it actually looks shorter than the original plans showed (where it went around the Gotham City Crime Wave swings) - it now cuts in front of it.   There is no onride audio (a shame, as it would be great if it pointed out things you pass), tho there is audio in the station that teases the train arriving and leaving.     it's high enough to get some great views, and with even a slight breeze was very comfortable on a warm day.    They do only allow 3 adults and one child maximum in each car - so this could cause quite the line on a busy day, as there are only two trains with 4 cars each.  I have to assume that is for safety reasons, as out car - with 3 adults - seemed a bit shaky on some of the turns.    it adds to the thrill level of this gentle ride tho, I thought.

Batgirl (the kiddie coaster) is running great still and the new colors look really nice on it.

same with Green Lantern (zoom jets) - the new color scheme is fantastic.

Poison Ivy (up up and Away), really works well with the gondolas redone as giant fruit with vines (and shade) in the queue now.

I did not ride Penguin (convoy) even tho it had opened with some statues in place, as they still are not quite done with it, and expect a few more dioramas to be added to the track area.

anyhow. . here are some pics :)

for the month of March, they are starting out with Flash and Harley Quinn

I may have gotten "confused" meeting "the Flash" during Mardi Gras. . . I didn't get any beads, but the actors all had a good laugh.

got a mini behind the scenes warehouse tour and got to see the maintenance shed where they keep the extra trains for all the coasters.

IMG_8028.thumb.JPG.62da15e728e70e8bd6b27cedddb45bef.JPG

and then found out Harley was out now. . so went back to DCU for a pic.

kinda behaved myself this time.

it's very, very good.

(and indoors with cushioned seats and air conditioning)

and to top it off, I got to ride on a parade float for the evening Mardi Gras parade.

for once, I got to be a Pirate, instead of being the swiss girl - (for some reason, when I do the parade, they always wanna dress me up as the swiss girl) 😛

ready for the parade to start, and to toss out hundreds of beads!

the area looks great, the park is fantastic, and the Mardi Gras food is all really good.   Highly recommend checking it out while the event is still going on!

Looks like a nice balance of kid stuff and thrills. Great area for families - prefer seeing things like this where kid stuff just isn't segregated to one section but instead integrated around larger stuff (Hersheypark does a great job at this).

This park routinely shows how it somehow is always a step above the rest of the company's lineup.

hmm. .. it's not a bad idea, but the space where KF is located is more conducive to replacing it with another flat.

now. . . if they  were willing to cross the pond there, and extend over the grass at lone Star lil's ?    I could see them considering, but I just don't see them getting rid of any more of that great lawn (they lost a 3rd of it when they put in cliffhanger).

but it's not a bad idea if they can find a space for it somewhere around the waterpark?

The reason why I wanted to see them replaced KF with a another Junior coaster instead of a flat because we still needed a stepping stone coaster

Roadrunner is back open (finally) :)

But yes, we still need that out and back Jr. coaster for the boardwalk. . . the Fiesta version of Judge Roy Scream

Correction, it is Grid who takes control of the quantum mechanism. I panicked when I saw this at first, because Grid is criminally underused and Kilg%re instead of him would've been a snub.

But they have the same audio from Cyborg Hyper Drive at SFNE, except YOU CAN ACTUALLY HEAR IT NOW. HALLEFUCKINGLUJAH.

have you been to the park and ridden it?

I'm asking because i could *swear* I was told that was Kilg%re who has taken over the ride, when riding (he argues with Cyborg who tells the riders to calm down and he'll save them via ride audio)

a query on Google got me this response:

The phrase "Kilg%re" appears to be a reference to a specific theming element within the Cyborg (Nebulaz) ride area, which is part of the DC Universe section of the park

I'll listen again next time I'm in the park. . but just wondering if you went and rode it and heard it differently?
