Canobie Coaster
I remember when we all thought Goliath's addition spelled the end of Flashback. Oh times have changed.

ice1972
I remember when we all thought Goliath's addition spelled the end of Flashback. Oh times have changed. They need to tear down Goliath and Flashback and put something sweet in.....there’s a good chunk of space there if Goliath and Flashback are gone..... Canobie Coaster
Did anyone make it out to SFNE for Cyborg's commercial shoot? I'm intrigued to hear both how the ride is.
RyanVaitkus
I was at the park yesterday and luckily was asked to be on the test run for the commercial for Cyborg: Hyperdrive. The queue is surprisingly highly themed for other things seen previously for things in SFNE. The ride takes place within Star Labs and it’s just a Chance Freestyle. There are screens around the lab explaining some sort of story but it was quiet and relatively inaudible; I’m also hoping that the animation gets some sort of update before it opens, because it is currently really bad. The queue for the ride is very short it’s just a cattlepen behind the gift shop, so I would expect opening weekend to have some lines outside the building. That is another thing, the entrance to the ride is a little obscure being off to the side of the building. The ride itself was enjoyable! It was in the dark with lasers and lights, animation and dialogue; but once again you could not hear any of the dialogue. Another strange thing about the building itself was the garage door which led to outside. Looking at the front of Star Labs there is a garage door which if opened leads right into the attraction. So this attraction that takes place in the dark is not actually in the dark because of the beams of light that glare through the garage door. Also, when the attraction reaches its maximum angle (I guess) you are blinded whenever you reach the ceiling as you are confronted with rows of LED lights right in your face. The building seemed like it was just able to fit the ride. Sorry that this is jumbled and seems to relatively bash the ride. Overall, great ride but a little underwhelming. Hope I didn’t spoil the ride for you all. Any other questions just ask!
Canobie Coaster
Thanks! Sounds like it'll be quite the disorienting ride. As for the light trickling in, I'm not too surprised. I remember hearing the old Joker's Wildcard was like that.

ice1972
As much as I want to ride the new ride....it was clear from the beginning it wasn’t gonna top any of the coasters they already have.../
mary.pesik
Don't worry. They have The Grid in this new ride. Turns out the screens and effects were off for the commercial shoot. I CAN'T WAIT TO HEAR GRID'S VOICE

mary.pesik
Also note I do not want to be spoiled tomorrow! I am going on the ride sometime in June! If only this site had spoiler tags... I am avoiding all talk of this ride tomorrow!
AmyUD06
Your best bet would be to avoid the forum all together then....
mary.pesik
I'm split. I REALLY want to see Grid and hear his voice, but then again, this is my equivalent of Endgame. I want to experience it for myself.
Srosdude
Grid doesn’t have a voice though. It’s a small skull on a screen, that’s it.
ice1972
Well? Anybody ride yesterday? Might head up tomorrow.....
coasterbill
Goliath is apparently open for the season for anyone that cares. Hurry up and ride it before the next catastrophic mechanical failure which should be any minute now...
Canobie Coaster
My friend is chaperoning a field trip there today and asked for an overview what to ride. And I'm pretty sure it ended with "forget about Goliath, it's a lost cause."
Sluggo77
Goliath was running when we left the park around 2:30 pm today.
Canobie Coaster
^ Did Batman open up? My friend said that was the one ride they found closed but it looks open per QueueTimes. They did get on Goliath and hated it.
Sluggo77
I actually didn’t get over there. Harley Quinn was our last stop but I think Batman was running. Just wasn’t really paying attention.
ice1972
What is the actual reason Goliath has been closed so much? Is it one thing or just an S-show of problems keeping it down? We were there last Sunday and it was running but we didn’t ride it.....just watching it go through the boomerang you could see the seats rattling so hard....and when it goes backwards through the boomerang I swear it’s not gonna make it - looks so slow
Canobie Coaster
I know it can't run below a certain temperature (I think it's 50-60 degrees but someone else may know exactly), which is a problem in New England. And then it has a whole litany of mechanical problems.
coasterbill
It can usually run down to 40 degrees during Fright Fest but I'm not sure what the start up temperature is. Silverwood's has an insanely high temperature limit but that's because they don't have an evacuation platform in the cobra roll like New England does. It's the only coaster in the park that ever closes when the temperature gets too low when it's been running all day. It also doesn't operate in the rain or on any day ending in a Y. As far as the mechanical issues that it has, I don't know and I don't care because the ride sucks anyway. I'd rather ride Flashback.
Canobie Coaster
^ I will take Goliath over Flashback, but I only really ride either if I'm with someone else who wants to.
