  1. I got lucky and got my DE VIP card, credits for paying through the pandemic and picked up the cup in under 10 mins but I went up to member services as soon as I walked into the park. Some of the lines since have been totally nuts. I really wish they would do away with the cups or at least make it optional. They are definitely an annoyance to have to carry around besides always wondering if someone is going to try to steal or mistakenly take yours. I like how Cedar Point offered both but but a refill time on the disposable cups. No issue at all with that. I'd rather be limited on refills and get a disposable cup instead of the plastic carry around ones.
  2. I haven’t been back since this went up to see it myself but apparently there was an RV parked next to Tomahawk. Not sure what it would be needed for. The area being closed could totally just be for staffing but it will be interesting to see how much of this and the Goliath area potential get a steampunk retheme.
  3. Don’t think I have a great shot but there are two of these open air structures in the queue for shade. The entire area looks really good.
  4. Similar to Great Adventure SFNE is going to offer Coaster Power Hours but for one night only. Free to members and season pass holders. Reservations are required. https://www.sixflags.com/newengland/events/coaster-power-hours
  5. Sounds like Friday will still be mask mandated and limited capacity. Saturday is the day for it to go away.
  6. We got our first visit this season on Sunday to. Park wasn’t crowded but lines were slower with the row skipping. Pretty much certain that won’t be happening anymore starting Saturday since reservations are going away along with the mask mandate. We did get to checkout Supergirl. Actually broke down on our first ride. Sat elevated for maybe 10 mins at most and then they lowered us. Got on again just a few minutes later with no issues. Confirming that the ride sign is gone from Goliath. Beautiful day but got hot quick. Was glad to see that Blizzard River was open. As we were leaving I noticed a pick up window for member skip the line passes next to the normal flash pass building. I don’t remember this being there so either I missed it or it’s new. Either way happy it’s there now. Overall we had a great day and enjoyed being back.
  7. Add Lake Compounce to the growing list of no masks needed if vaccinated. Also the need for reservations is ending soon. Updated guidelines can be read here: https://www.lakecompounce.com/plan-a-visit/health-and-safety
  8. SFNE has announced that SUPERGIRL Sky Flyer will be opening for Member & Season Pass Preview May 22nd & 23rd!
  9. Been a while but Candymonium back on July 2nd 2020. Such a fun coaster!
  10. Yes that’s the lot! Entrance is past the main lot and on the left in front of the water park just before the employee lot entrance if coming from the West Springfield direction.
  11. Here’s more information on the announcement! https://boston.cbslocal.com/2021/04/27/massachusetts-reopening-phase-4-outdoor-mask-mandate-bars-amusement-parks-road-races-governor-charlie-baker/
  12. I loved the front row on this coaster and just the gradual climb up to facing straight at the ground before final dropping and ripping through the station. After that it was good luck and hope for the best. Had a few good rides and a whole lot of terrible jack hammering ones as well. Seems like the right choice to finally remove it but with SFNE not even able to open rides yet I do hope that they'll still commit budget to replace it when it does comes down. Otherwise that will be a pretty large empty spot in the middle of the park. Even if it wasn't running it still looked good there at least.
  13. LC doesn’t open until May 8th and there will still be safety restrictions. Not sure where you heard otherwise. I do agree that Mass. needs to let SFNE open though. Today started the Dinosaur walk through but people are getting more and more pissed that rides can’t open. Think it’s great that the park is still trying but rides are what people ultimately want.
  14. Did see someone post a video of Wicked Cyclone running in the rain Sunday. I'll most likely be driving past the park tomorrow so if anything is running I'll try to grab a few pics. EDIT: Looks like SFNE is going to have a little more walk through with no rides at least starting April 10th - May 23rd. Dinosaur Walk-Thru Experience details up on the site now. Also see dates showing up in the app but doesn't look like you can reserve yet. https://www.sixflags.com/newengland/events/dinosaur-walk-thru
  15. Total guess but at this point I think the park probably knows when they will be allowed to open but might not be able to say just yet. Like the two HITP events we will probably see an announcement with a short window to opening day from there.
  16. New LC logo and a mention of a massive transformation coming as part of the parks 175th anniversary. They also moved opening day up to Saturday May 8th now. https://fb.watch/4owSXQJ7ws/
  17. I'm hoping that like SFMM once they do get the green light that opening day will be pretty quick from there.
  18. ^Just meant no direct timetable to have a get ready goal. Totally agree otherwise. I mean I did get to walk around SFNE for the holiday walk through and the new DC Universe lit up sign was in and Supergirl was already partially installed at least so work has happened at the parks.
  19. Sorry about that. Yes I get the essential stuff. I guess my point was it had been and then the parks themselves weren’t open and had no real timeline when they could open at least from what I had seen. So they had no reason to work on it. Now that they can open there isn’t a ton of time to do much at this point. My bad for not reading your thought correctly.
  20. I’d love to be wrong but I highly doubt you will see this. With that same logic why weren’t all the 2020 rides installed already. They announced them. Reality is things change and saying it would be closed for track work wasn’t a guarantee of a conversion. Could have been that they didn’t even want to put budget towards standard repairs with the potentially limited season so they decided to keep it closed even if they did get to open the park which as we know never happened. Even if they still had a budget green lit to do it Cuomo has had nonessential work on pause throughout NY so other than maybe small sections they really wouldn’t have had time to work on it either.
  21. I think expectations need to be realistic this year. They are moving forward with a lot of the rides that were announced for 2020 now for 2021 but not even all of them throughout the chain. I don't think you will see Predator or any coaster in the chain get this type of upgrade this year and it will be interesting to see how long it takes before a major overhaul like that takes to come back into play as the parks all try to recover.
  22. Happy to see the SF's chain putting the park opening dates out there. Not sure if it was a leap of faith with SFNE since they weren't able to provide a firm date just yet. Crazy how Lake Compounce, practically just down the road, was even able to open last year since it's in Connecticut. Hopefully the Mass. Governor follows NY's lead with letting the park open for this season soon. Can't wait for some Superman and Wicked Cyclone rides!
  23. It's not what you would consider a typical SF's park. Very family focused but still a nice park to visit. Comet has a great history and is still a lot of fun. They tend to keep good care of it. Totally agree. For all parks in NY it's great news. I'm sure Legoland is also relieved to see this news. The Lake George area in general is great location in the Adirondack's to visit so a stop at TGE is just icing on the cake.
  24. TGE is opening May 1st! https://www.timesunion.com/business/article/Six-Flags-Great-Escape-to-open-May-1-15963033.php
