  1. I was shocked to see this today. Would certainly make things interesting.
  2. Nice warm day in Upstate NY today. Decided to enjoy the day at TGE. Park was actually pretty busy. Credit to them for still having Raging River open. It was a welcomed cool down. Overall we had a good time.
  3. What a huge year 2020 will be for the Busch/SeaWorld parks. This looks like a cool new addition as well.
  4. Didn’t really release much new info today. Can’t wait to see the full POV. So awesome to see another incredible coaster added to BGT!
  5. Looks great. Definitely need to plan a Texas trip.
  6. If it does get built it will be a must stop for sure.
  7. That looks sick. Sounds very impressive if they do get it built.
  8. Oh yea the sale won’t start by then. To bad since you could have used it closer to you later this year and all next year. Cyborg is the newest ride and has low capacity so if you want to do it that may be one to do early. It’s a family indoor flat with some decent theming down by Superman. If you want a spinal adjustment hit Goliath earlier if it’s open. It can gain a line just do to capacity to. If you have a history with SLC’s still don’t skip Ridder. New restraints have made it fun without head banging. Wicked Cyclone is awesome. Post your thoughts compared to Cyclone here after you get to ride it. Outside of that just go to the ride types you enjoy the most.
  9. Depending on when you are planning to go you might want to just buy a season pass since the sale is coming up very soon. Get’s you admission and free parking every visit for the rest of this year and all next year for all SF’s parks. Not separate water parks though. Best coasters are Superman and Wicked Cyclone and both are great day and night. Much improved coaster lineup now compared to the Riverside days. Harley Quinn is my favorite flat. If you are looking for a nice sit down restaurant to break up your day Cals in West Springfield isn’t to far away and I’ve never had anything I didn’t like there. It’s really good. https://www.calswoodfiredgrill.com/
  10. Last fall I was told that the DC area could be added for HiTP down the road but not for 2019. Again could be and that idea may be dead now.
  11. ^Yea I had heard different wheels were being used so that might just be it. Just strange why it was only one train doing it consistently in the same spots each time. In other visits I hadn’t heard it at all but Friday was definitely the most humid visit for me so far this year. Regardless I think new trains with the newer Intamin design would be an upgrade to this already awesome coaster.
  12. No wasn’t rough at all just didn’t sound right either. Strange that each train has sounded off recently. The ride was awesome regardless.
  13. We went to SFNE yesterday late afternoon / evening for the 4th fest. When pulling in the preferred lot was packed. I thought the park was going to be packed but to my surprise it wasn’t. Longest waits were Cyborg, mainly due to capacity. I would have skipped but others in our group hadn’t been on it yet so we waited. I believe it was around 45 mins. The other was Blizzard River which we hit first. Maybe 20 mins at most for that. Went to Cyclone and walked right on. Superman was maybe 10 mins and Harley Quinn about the same. Fireworks went a solid 15 mins and were overall good. One thing I noticed is that the red train on Superman was making a pretty load squeaky / grinding sound in several sections of the course. Blue didn’t have that sound at all. Would really like to see them invest in new trains for next year. Outside of that operations were good and we had a great time at the park.
  14. Six Flags Great Adventure held their media day for the new Wonder Woman Lasso of Truth and TPR was invited to attend. Wonder Woman is a Zamperla Giga Discovery which the park is billing as the World's Tallest Pendulum Ride. For comparison it's the same larger size/version as CraZanity at SFMM compared to other park installs. This massive pendulum stands 17 stories tall, spins 40 riders in counterclockwise circles, while swinging back & forth at up to 75 miles per hour. At it's peak it reaches 172 feet in the air. This new ride is now the third consecutive addition/improvement in this general area of the park and it's located between Batman: The Ride and Justice League. You won't have any issue finding it since it's huge! The weather was not cooperating at all early for media day. We have a 3 hour drive to GA and it poured the whole way there. When we were literally 10 mins. from the park the rain started to slow and by the time we parked it was down to basically a light mist. For our reverse POV it had totally stopped and was just a heavy overcast sky. As you'll see in the pics we even got lucky with a couple of hours of perfect weather. Long story short we avoided the downpours. Not everyone was as lucky. When talking with Kristin, who is the parks awesome Communications Manager, earlier some got drenched including herself. This isn't a water ride but early in the day it pretended to be LOL. As for the ride itself we love these flats. My third favorite ride at SFNE is their slightly smaller Harley Quinn version. Riding that a bunch we knew what to expect and although very similar I felt that there was even more hang time weightlessness when WW was in full swing. Both versions are awesome and provide a different experience based on location in the park. I think we ended up riding Wonder Woman 7 times during the event and every time we had a blast. This is such an awesome addition to Great Adventure! We all know that the World's Ultimate Thrill Park has a great coaster collection and outside of that Wonder Woman is going to draw visitors big time for a long time. Thank you to Kristin and the entire Great Adventure team for inviting TPR and for the fun we had while there. As always thanks again to Robb for letting us represent. Here’s the video from media day. [youtu_be] [/youtu_be] Here's some pics. Wonder Woman Lasso of Truth! Why we are here. Besides just loving the park As you can see the weather wasn't ideal to start but regardless the ride looks amazing! Jay was taking the majority of the pics as I started messing with my new GoPro Here's some of the signage talking about Wonder Woman. Just getting started. And here is where the weather became great. Wonder Woman in action. Due to the rides location we parked in the employee lot. Here's a shot of the recently turned on solar panels covering this lot. The park is almost completely powering operations by solar now. As a park in the Northeast great job Great Adventure! Here's another shot from the employee lot as we headed out. Blue sky's were gone again but we enjoyed them while they were there. Oh and yea, Wonder Woman is huge. Thanks again Kristin and the Great Adventure team. Until next time, goodbye to Great Adventure and Wonder Woman.
  15. Awesome report. Very cool with the midnight opening event as well!
  16. You would need to open and decorate the entire park to get to that ride and it's a Trabant. Yup basically they would outside of what’s closed in the north end already. Also tough if there is any ice with the stairs or ramps to get down there but it really was hinted at as a possibility.
  17. They have hinted at expanding HITP possibly next year but we shall see.
  18. The funny thing is I felt that Cyborg was the fastest at the very end once it was flat again.
  19. I think you are asking how it compares to Reverse Time. I apologize because I can’t answer that. I haven’t been on it. Different rides per say though. Seem similar outside of Cyborg having a lot more theming.
  20. Thanks! Totally agree. Taking a simple flat and going beyond just placing it adds so much more to it. It’s like Blizzard at TGE. Simple scrambler not themed even close to this but still better indoors than a standard scrambler.
  21. TPR was invited to attended the CYBORG Hyper Drive Media Day at Six Flags New England. CYBORG Hyper Drive is a Chance Rides Freestyle which seats 24 riders per cycle, features a 2 minute ride cycle and is located inside what was the Hall of Justice building. For those unfamiliar this is located in the DC Super Heros Adventures section of the park next to the iconic Superman The Ride. CYBORG features an original story line where guests are invited to S.T.A.R. Laboratories to help Cyborg test a new top secret technological device. Once arriving at S.T.A.R. Labs visitors enter a small but highly themed indoor queue. From there you enter the ride section of the building. Once the ride starts and the story unfolds, the evil, sentient cybernetic system called GRID hacks into the mainframe and takes control of the entire lab. From there riders find themselves caught up in the battle spinning and being lifted in the air while Cyborg wrestles to regain control of the enormous machine. Throughout the queue and ride there are specialized lighting, video and sound effects. Once Cyborg saves the day guests exit through the DC Super Hero Store gift shop. Since riding I've heard mixed reviews of the experience. What I can say is although this isn't the biggest or craziest flat the park took a smaller addition and gave it a lot of extra's instead of just plopping it down on a pad. I really like how the queue looks and the ride section is good just thought a little more could have been added like mirrors on some of the bare wall areas to highlight the riders and the rides lighting package which is behind you. The other suggestion would be to turn up the sound a bit. Outside of those thoughts I see this as being a huge hit for families and with it being only the second dark ride in the park it's a welcomed addition for a chance to get out of the hot summer weather. Lots of credit for the park taking the extra steps to make it a true themed experience. Thank you to Six Flags New England for inviting TPR to CYBORG Hyper Drive Media Day and thanks again to Robb for having us cover it. Here's some pics from the event and a few park provided ones as well. Heading towards Cyborg for Media Day Entering DC Super Heros Adventures Here is Cyborg! Another side showing that it's S.T.A.R. Labs. A few of DC's famous Heroes and Villains were here for the event. Me with my Superheroine! SFNE Park President Pete Carmichael Kicking Off Media Day. Pete handed things over to SFNE Communication Manager Jennifer McGrath. Once the presentation was over Pete came back in and Jen started a countdown from "Six" to open the ride. Pete says we are at 4. So that's where you go in. Pete welcoming everyone in to try out CYBORG Hyper Drive! The park had invited 24 Scientist and Chemist from Roger Williams University in Bristol, Rhode Island for the inaugural ride. After the presentation they posed for some pics. As a thanks for their participation the park provided the University with a check for $2,500 towards a student attending the University in the fall of 2019. They also gave the University 500 tickets to the park. Here's some shots from inside the queue. Due to the nature of this being an indoor ride it was hard to get any in ride action shots but here's one of the ride. When in motion that big white section above the ride is a video screen as part of the experience. Here's some park provided on ride shots. Until next time. Thank You Six Flags New England!
