p. 337: Quantum Accelerator family coaster announced for 2025!

Recommended Posts

55 minutes is still bad on a Thursday. Even during the summer months. In past years you would only have to wait 15-20 minutes on Weekdays most of the time. Line was bad Monday when I was there it was at least a 2 hour wait. Once again that's on a MONDAY.

I was at the park yesterday and employees were saying Superman had a 2-2.5 hour wait pretty consistently. The line was back towards the S shield switchbacks. On our last ride, we heard them say that VR would be stopped at 9 pm, presumably to clear out the line. It appeared less than half of riders were using VR.

I tried the VR twice. The first time, my screen froze in the cockpit and the ride was very nauseating since the headset scene wasn't moving with the coaster. I ended up closing my eyes and it wasn't a very pleasant experience. The second ride, my headset was working during the lift and then I saw a "Your Device is Overheating" message. I was able to hit ignore and the VR worked! The VR was cool, but I don't think I'd experience it again. The movement was very well synched with the coaster, but the headset was shifting on my head during the ride's crazy airtime.

Im really intrested in the water coaster and possible the drop capsule slides as far as the water park goes. Im just trying to get a good bit in in a half day.

Typhoon almost always has an hour wait or so if the water park is even somewhat crowded. I had to skip it yesterday. I rode Bonzai Pipeline yesterday and it was about a 15-20 minute wait around 5 pm. The initial drop was quite the thrill, but the transitions between turns was a little uncomfortable (you could really feel where the slide pieces came together).

That happened to me at La Ronde. Did it just stop completely or did you just keep turning around in the cockpit staring at the back of your seat?

"Your Device is Overheating" message.

I'm so glad this is happening. Hopefully it continues and a few of these things overheat and die. I also love to hear that it only works about half the time an that people were waiting 2+ hours only to be told they couldn't use VR. Hopefully tons of people go to guest relations and complain and we can go back to enjoying this great coaster the way it was supposed to be enjoyed without overheating, non-calibrated cell phones strapped to our heads.

I get to try Superman Krypton Coaster's VR on Tuesday but I already support removal of the VR just because of how stupid it is for capacity. It's probably even worse for rides like Bizarroman: The Steel Ride because they're top tier rides at their park. SKC may be the second best coaster at SFFT but even when IRat has a 20-30 minute line SKC is never more than a 3 or 4 train wait, even for the front. I'll bet it's over an hour now, even when IRat is a walk-on.

^Difference is that at Magic Kingdom lines actually move even though they are long.

I bet it takes forever to load one of those Superman trains and have everyone strap their VR devices...

The problem is hardheaded people. My wife and I rode this. While entering the station, you put your headset on and flip up the phone. Jump on the train, restraints, pull down phone. We are ready and the train doesn't leave for another 3 minutes... People just fiddle faddle in the station then after they get on the train they try to put on their headset.

That's all well and good if the headsets work but quite often they don't and have to be switched out. Plus the first time you put those things on it can be a little confusing if you haven't done it before. The proble with this idea is that it's a stupid idea.

If anything I actually think the VR would have been more exciting as Bizarro than Superman, adding to the intense effects that were already there! The visuals could have been even crazier, and they would be welcome to keep the music I'm still not over the transformation, give me a few more years

Not arguing any of your points (especially the last one). But since we waited in line for 45 minutes and walked by 3 signs explaining the procedure (with typos) we figured we would, I dunno, READ them so it would not be confusing to us when we got in the station. Absolutely agree though, can't wait for these to be gone. It was sad because this was my first visit since 2007 and I only was able to get one ride. So, instead, I had to suffer through many re-rides of Wicked Cyclone.

Well looks like I'll definitely have to get Fast Pass for Friday August 5th! I can't wait to go back to the park. I went on Northeast Tour 2011 and had a great time at the park! Looking forward to riding Superman back as Superman!

They shut the VR off yesterday around 6 because of rain and didn't put it back on the ride for the rest of the night. Line ended up moving really fast. One thing that pisses me off is that even when they shut the VR off they still assign seats. Great job six flags great job. Give us the old station set up, get rid of this VR garbage. PLEASE!

I feel like nothing shows Six Flag's incompetence better than the way they've lessened the experience and butchered operations on the possible #1 coaster in the world over the last 8 years. They could have done nothing this entire time and had a better customer experience.

I think that with many of the issues that VR brings, Six Flags will cancel it on most if not all rides by 2018.

Maybe it's just a 2016 season thing. We can hope lol

I am hoping for that too, but I think Six Flags will remove it from only a few rides next year hoping that they can fix some of the issues with VR.

I don't care if it stays in the park, just take it the hell off of Superman and put it on another coaster. Keep it the hell away from Superman and Wicked Cyclone and put it on Batman or Mind Eraser and then I'd be fine with it.
