krazekiddd Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 Love the pics so far! I can't wait to read the rest. It will give me time to keep busy until the East Coast trip!
slither37 Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 Beer is good. Great TR. Captions are great. I assume there were not permanent injuries on the triangle of death. I wonder how many people drank the equivalent of the trip cost???
i am legend--in bed Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 just curious, but was there a Part 1 to day 3? EDIT: OK thanks
gisco Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 just curious, but was there a Part 1 to day 3? Yes, look here Bobbejaanland Robb just never said it was part 1
thecoasterkid Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 An open bar, roller coasters, and a bus ride. If that isn't asking for trouble than I don't know what is! Robb and Elissa, it looks like you 2 put on yet another incredible trip. And yet another one that I wish I was able to take part in. Bonus points for putting up the picture of Divv flashing the Hooters Crew gang signs! I can't wait for my next TPR trip!
TheRealTinkerbell Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 Who are Lian and Barry? Are they the Park Managers? I so want to visit Toverland so bad. It's such a great idea of an indoor park. Sadly, parks like that would fail in the US and A terribly. Thanks for the updates!
downunder Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 Great updates, I'm glad the trip went really well. Hope you're catching up on some sleep now before the fun begins again in August.
packfanlv Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 Great updates. It really looks like everyone had a great time. KidTums is so darn cute as well.
thrillgeek Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 Wow that's alot of beer! I've got to try one of those motor bike coasters. They look fun. Jeez do you guy's ever stop gorging yourselves with food Haha glad all is well on the other side of the world!
ELZ Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 The Bobbejaanland/Toverland day was one of my favorite days of the whole trip! The beer and food at Toverland was insane, it actually let to the start of the petition to rename Troy to "Beer". Such a crazy amazing place, although apparently someone, and i quote "had an accident" in one of the play slides. Bobbejaanland was such an awesome park too. Everyone was in such a good mood that day!
SteveC Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 ^Elz - for the record I think we had better be clear that it was not anyone from TPR who had the accident (bad accident -rear end issue....OMFG) as it happened before we arrived!
PKI Jizzman Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 Wow, three hours on a GCI! That'd be heaven!! Seeing all this stuff makes me want to get on a TPR trip..soon! Thanks for the updates! -JZ
Ryancrash Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 Toverland really hooked us up - one of my favorite ERT sessions on the whole trip. Troy was so amazing, I rode it 26 times - it was even better than Thunderhead I thought, which is saying a lot in my book. THANK YOU TOVERLAND!! "TROY!... de sensatie... la la la la la..." Ryan
Homer Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 Amusing updates so far. I just hope the rope course video is going to be edited like an episode of MXC, complete with innuendo and 50,000 replays after somebody gets hurt.
Jeroen_twee Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 still not sure why the Dutch named a beer 'Bavaria' maybe they are just paying homage It's called after a part of Germany, where this kind of beer comes from. I know this park, and it's like Kid Tums paradise, if it's only for TPR!
Machtin Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 It's called after a part of Germany, where this kind of beer comes from. Trust me, it doesn't taste or look like any beer made in Bavaria. It's just what they want to make you believe. I always wonder how many people have actually purchased Bavaria beer thinking it was a German brand... I've never seen it being sold here in Germany, btw. Troy looks sexy indeed and it really makes me wonder why I've never been to Toverland... Stupid me!
ginzo Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 "TROY!... de sensatie... la la la la la... And to think I almost had that song out of my head.
fdelhomez Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 Toverland's looking very pretty, I love to see your TR! Awesome, tomorow I'm going to ride the abnormal boomerang of Walibi Rhone-Alpes! Thx guys for what your doin' for us!
ELZ Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 [And to think I almost had that song out of my head. haha never!!!! that song is permanently stamped into the mind! same with the euromir song, which i will sneak in to the next DJ set I do.
coaster05 Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 it's certainly not insulting i think it's really cool that americans visit our "in my opinion" crap parks when you check what the us has to offer for a european guy it should be the other way, we europeans should visit the us asap to ride all the awesome coasters that are standing there Having just gotten back from the Europe trip I must say, "You have lost your mind!" The Europe parks absolutely own the US in all aspects. The food is better, the theming is amazing, and the ride selection is better. About all I can say about US parks is we have more coasters. Rich "By next year I will have more Europe credits than US" Bitner
zjerre Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 indeed, us has more coasters and that's why i want to go to it asap
TheRealTinkerbell Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Indeed, U.S. has more coasters and that's why I want to go to it asap Sorry, but I had to fix it. I had a severe blonde moment when I read "us has more coasters." I seriously had to read it 4 times before I realized what you meant. Sorry once again.
ebl Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Interesting how this Vekoma mine train is able to operate with all of its "locomotive's" wheels in place, while the ones at Disney have had the second set removed after the 2003 Disneyland crash of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad---also a Vekoma ride, I believe.
