Weirdest wood coaster:

Tyrolean Tubtwist at Joyland Children's Theme Fun Park in the UK. It has so many unusual characteristics (for a wood roller coaster) that it's barely a roller coaster at all! It's one-of-a-kind, it's side-friction, it has spinning cars, it's electrically powered (except during the dips), and it's the only thing close to the old Virginia Reel-style of roller coaster that is currently operating.

Weirdest steel coaster:

Hexenbesen at Seilbahnen Thale Erlebniswelt in Germany. It's one-of-a-kind, It's a flying AND a suspended model, it's self-operated, and it can only take one passenger at a time. It also has a strict weight limit of 65 kg. which, as an American, I find highly offensive and I will not stand for it (standing makes me tired).

Actually this was designed to be a new form of transportation, so I guess this is kind of like a prototype?

Have to agree on Hexenbesen and Tyrolean Tubtwist. Why doesn't Tubtwist get much attention? Is it just an out-of-the-way park? I assume adults can fit on it. I'm guessing it's one of those rides that is fun for sentimental and historical value rather than thrills, kind of like Leap-the-Dips or tamer Scenic Railways.

I'm going with Space Fantasy at Universal Japan. The whole thing had some backstory about, oh, a princess and comets and stuff, but it was all in Japanese, so I have no idea what it was about. But that didn't matter, as the ride was a lot of fun--especially the seizure-inducing ending.

^Is that even... a coaster?? If it didn't have those 1 foot tall hills I guess it wouldn't for sure.

/\ Yeah, I don't know why it counts either.

Somewhat ghetto-looking ride with motors in the cars that propel it up the lift, after which it becomes a gravity powered ride.

It's called Black Hole... Lets make it bright red and theme it to Asia!

Extremely pointless ghetto inverted, with a hill over a rock climbing tower.

OMG! OUCH! Whip Lash Baby! But yeah I'd still ride it!

Whiplash would actually be a pretty good name for a coaster.

Anyway..

Even the RCDB Entry for this ride calls it "unusual looking"

These caps are from Blackpool Pleasure Beach taken in 1947 showing a coaster with seating like on a today rafting ride.

@Knoebels: Can you please re-create this?

Steel coaster with a wooden coaster train

Last year, during the TPR Mexico tour this was included and there is even a POV! (different trains, though)

^ At 1:32 in the video, I can imagine the designers:

- Guys, I'm out of ideas. Do you have any suggestions on how to finish this ride?

- Naaah.

I heard that was the backup name for Mean Streak back in the day...
