A.J.
Oh yeah, sure. I was merely trying to make a point that I think the huge investment in 2001 sort of put Six Flags America in a "hole" that they seem like they can't get out of.
coasterfreak101
But I think that it's obvious that they're finally trying. They've spent years making improvements to clean up the park, whether it be the paths or the employee pool. They repainted Superman and reopened the slides they left to rot five years ago. And now they're moving forward and adding in a used roller coaster. If they market Apocalypse and it works for them, if there's a decent ROI and SFI really sees that this park is worth investing in, then we might start to see more capital investments in the future. Â I'm not an SFA fanboy by any means, but it seems so clear that they're working on their image and that SFI is finally investing in this park after a decade of nothing that I can't stand when people trash talk it, especially when they haven't been in a few years. Â EDIT: Are those not new trains? I've never really seen the Iron Wolf trains, but I figured since they made a point to post pictures of the restraints that they were working on building the new trains? KDCOASTERFAN
I'm talking about recent history, not what happened 10 years ago, but the last 5 years. Also, think of this: What happened after 2001? The largest investment was Thomas Town which is a small investment.  EDIT: OK, I think I put the wrong fact down: Not that Six Flags didn't invest much into the park, but didn't invest that much in the park recently since 2002, it is true that they did do a lot of good investments in the turn of the century.  Let's not forget that they also removed many rides while offering no replacements & when there weren't that many new rides being added over a span of ten years removing the precious few remaining rides without replacement gives people in the region even less of a reason to visit than if those rides had remained & recieved proper maintenance to keep them in operating condition. coasterfreak101
Again from the SFA Facebook page: "Coaster pieces are arriving, making way for APOCALYPSE!" Â Glad to see that there's some white in there, and that it isn't as dark as the animation made it seem! Looks like another two-tone B&M for 2012! -Edge of Beast-
They made an old B&M look new again. Â Congrats. Â Let's just hope it rides as good as it looks. But I shouldn't get my hopes up.

Looks like another two-tone B&M for 2012! Â I think that's the primer,if you look closely at the end cap on the backside of the track segment you can still see a tiny bit of the original IW brown on there. The spine looks like a darker gray due to the shadow cast by the light source.I do recall when they repainted mind eraser back in 05 they used a similar primer before applying to new yellow paintjob so we havn't seen the finished colors just yet although I would've thought it'd be easier to repaint the sections after assembly similar to how KD did with Dominator. coasterfreak101
I assumed it was the real paint because the spine is clearly grey. So why wouldn't the entire piece be covered in primer all at once?

It probably was & that is what they painted thus far for that particular section....but then again some of the other segments look to have a light shade of gray as well. coasterfreak101
Exactly. And they're showing pictures of it on-site, after it's already been painted as far as anyone can tell. I think it's safe to say that these are our colors. Which I like much better than the dark grey and orange in the animation.

NewsPlusNotes
I reached out to the park about the ride's colors, and they just confirmed that the track will be orange and gray, so I guess it's just a work in progress in the photos! palmerleeberry
Hey, Hey, What can I say? I was just checking out this discussion page concerning Six Flags America and saw a press release that included this statement: Rick Howarth as its new park president. I do not know if I should excited, glad, or just plain doubtful on the new park president. I hope that he'll come up with some interesting ideas to help Six Flags America rise up from it's knees and become a great park one again! I guess that "we'll see" within the coming years.  "Don't look at me; I just want to lie in bed."

"No, it's Eggshell" "I say it's Khaki." "It's Sand Dune." "You're all wrong, it's Tan." Â Why am I reminded of being trapped at Lowes' paint department???? coasterfreak101
This is why I limit my color knowledge to the twelve important Crayola crayons, plus "macaroni orange," for good measure.
Geauga Dog
Does B&M check out the track after it's been dismantled to look for possible track that needs replaced or is that the park's job? After all these years as Iron Wolf I would think that there might be some stressed areas on the track that might cause a red flag and need extra attention.
