Maverick is better because:

It's longer

It has a variety of elements

If I remember correctly you can feel a hill or two on Maverick; since TTD twist you don't feel the drop.

I really liked both of them for different reasons. I don't think they are really comparable, beyond being Intamin rides at the same park.

I don't even see this as a competition. TBH, last time I rode TTD I found it to be completely boring, offering me no thrill at all. And since it's a ride built completely on that "thrill factor" and not really a "fun factor," I got off thinking that I had just wasted 30 mins of my life. TTD is definitely something that is great the first time around, but once you're over the launch it's pretty boring and, to be blunt, a pointless waste of time and energy.

Maverick on the other hand is a masterpiece. Not only does it have that insane "thrill factor," but it also has the "fun factor." It's perfectly smooth (I wont even try to argue with the pansies who call it rough... a drive down the highway is equally turbulent), it has a launch, a lift, inversions, airtime, and some insane forces. It pretty much combines all of the best parts of all of the best coasters in the world and puts them in one awesome ride.

I could go on longer about how awesome Maverick is, but I think I'd just bore everyone. You get the point. MAVERICK FTW!

I voted for Maverick, but only because it's a "true" coaster. TTD is much more thrilling to me. And I know I'm probably a rarity, but I found Maverick pretty painful, and not very enjoyable, (especially through the canyons and other areas with sharp turns). Will I ride Maverick again? Heck yeah, I'm not smart enough to stop just because of pain!

But I have to agree with Scappari too, and say, MF beats 'em both!

Maverick delivers a fun, fast, and long overall ride complete with a couple of inversions, high banked turns, an amazing drop, and an enclosed launch section as well as extensive theming and scenery.

Top thrill Dragster is a great one trick pony. It has the launch and the drop. They may be fun, but not nearly as great as a well rounded ride such as maverick.

I think the only reason people experience pain on Maverick is because they are riding it wrong. And yes, you CAN ride a coaster "wrong(ly?)". They tell you not to lift up your arms, but people do it anyway. They tell you not to lean your head forward. People do it anyway.

This is too easy. Maverick by far. TTD is fun, but it only does one thing while Maverick not only does every type of coaster element, it does each one right.

BLAME THE RIDERS!

This is very true. I rode Maverick multiple times, with my hands up, with my hands on the shoulder harnesses, and with my hands on the handles. By far the most painful rides were when my hands were on the shoulder harnesses. I actually got a bruise from the bottom of the first drop when my hands were there. Hands up gave many of the same difficulties. When my hands were were they were supposed to be, the only "roughness," if you can even call it that, was the overaggressive Stengel.

(Btw, "wrong" is correct.)

This poll is ridiculous. Maverick is much better than Dragster. Not even a competition.

I agree with you on Maverick, but I'm sorry....how can you not be thrilled by Dragster? Or even call it boring? A 0-120 launch, flying straight up into the sky, then spiraling back down to earth. I just don't see how anyone could get off not have some sort of "thrill". IMO, I think it was built on Thrill, Records, and Fun.

But hey, maybe riding it once or twice a year keeps it fresh.

BLAME THE RIDERS!

Yeah, my wife refreshed my memory about that morning when we first rode Maverick. My first couple of rides...hands up...by the third ride...hands down. Plus, we moved to the front seats which made a huge difference too.

Okay, the truth....I'm a wuss!

Thought I think TTD is the biggest, best adrenaline rush I've had in my life so far, I think Maverick is better. It's my favorite coaster. Pure, all out insanity. Airtime here, inversion there, insane tight curve all over! I really wasn't thinking much of this ride, but holy poo poo, this ride is great.

I completely agree with JZ. While Maverick isn't my favorite, it's definitely up there. It's hard to compare the two because they are different and unique in their own ways. TTD offers the biggest rush I have ever felt, while Maverick isn't as thrilling, it's definitely one of the funnest coasters I have been on.

I much prefer coasters with substance to those which just draw on a gimmick. So Maverick's great combo of airtime, inversions and fast dives were a treat.

Dragster certainly isn't an everyday ride, because everyday it'll break down. Wind, rain, malfunctions, you name it, and it will happen. Make no mistake, it's a real adrenaline rush, but after waiting through 2 stoppages and 2 hours in an awful queue just to ride the first time, it does sulley the whole experience.

I think that Top Thrill Dragster is way better than Maverick. I've loved TTD ever since my first time on it. But after my first time on Maverick last year, I never became a big fan of it. I don' think it has many good "elements" and it's quite painful. I'm not one to be putting down a roller coaster, but Maverick isn't a good coaster. They went from building a great coaster in 2003 (TTD) to building some random, not fun coaster in 2007 (Maverick). While Maverick is many people's #1 coaster, it's on my bottom 10.

I have not ridden TTD or Maverick, but I must say Maverick looks the "better" coaster. I have been looking at pictures and movies of both and Maverick just seems to get the edge over TTD.

So in conclusion, Maverick!

^^^ SHUN THE NONBELIEVER!!! shhhhhhuuuuuuuuunnnnnnah

I gotta say, I think Maverick is better because while Top Thril Dragster is crazy insane and whacked out and awesome, its a one-trick pony in my book. Maverick has speed, airtime, inversions, and everything else a coaster needs to be good.

Why did you shun me when we both agreed Maverick is better?

Yes, my brain is slow, very slow. lol

He didn't. Three arrows means he is referring to the person three posts above him, not you.

People need to stop doing this. Seriously.

Dragster is like a date in high school, the long anticipation and quickly its all over with and nothing much afterwards, maybe a picture but that's it. Maverick is like dating after high school, where you mess around, have some fun, there's no waiting, you get beat up a little bit, then it's off to their place where it's a wild ride at the end.

Yeah... I'd take Maverick.

Sorry, I don't get what you mean.

Could you rephrase this so my small brain could understand?

Thanks
