SharkTums Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 Hey everyone! Does it feel strange that Thanksgiving is already here? Seems early or something! I think for the first time ever, Robb and I are just going to stay at home and do nothing. (By nothing I mean work really hard on a million things for the site, but no cool trips or family) Anyone have big plans? Flying, driving, family coming in? What are you planning to do.
Coasterlvr_nc Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 Driving 8 hours to Ohio to visit some family friends, and by family friends I mean friends of my parents... too bad KI is closed. >.
KaliGirl Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 For the first time in ages, I'm not cooking the dinner! But only because my parents and grandmother have made the move to TN already without me. So nobody to cook for except the dogs. I'll be heading to Napa for dinner at a friend's house, and trying to convince Carl that even though there will be a couple of kids, it won't be all that bad. BTW-Next time Carl's down there, put KT in his arms and take a picture of him for me. Don't worry, you'll get KT back in about 5 seconds.
Ccron10 Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 I think for the first time ever, Robb and I are just going to stay at home and do nothing. (By nothing I mean work really hard on a million things for the site, but no cool trips or family) Kinda sounds like what my family and me are going to do. Just my parents, my grandmother and me.
ParkTrips Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 Go nowhere oh, and watch Tech beat UGA.. hopefully I can score tix Fortunately my family is staying away this year. No inbred babies to be born at the end of next summer! My mom's not even cooking
ernierocker Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 First Thanksgiving with the wife's family. We are going to Kingston, TN. The rest of the weekend I will be keeping a 5 mile radius from myself and any mall in Knoxville.
Wes Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 No big plans either. I do get the day after Thanksgiving as a paid holiday, though, which is nice because our company didn't used to do that.
spaceace12 Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 Well, I will go to work at my p/t job at 9am and work till the last customer leaves and the store is secure (it was voluntary), then I will either go home or go to my Grandma's for dinner. Then I will go into my f/t job, it wasn't vol. but at 22 dollars an hour, I am not going to complain (plus I will have nothing to do until about 10:30pm so I will probably work on my coaster video for the years end). That is my plans
Tanks4me05 Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 The only thing I'm going to do is sit in front of my 42 Inch Toshiba Regza LCD TV, playing Mass Effect on my Xbox 360 until I die of sleep deprevation, dehydration, or starvation. Whatever comes first. (I pre ordered it a couple of weeks ago, and there's only 5 days left until it's out!!!! W00T!!!) But of course, my relatives from Pennsylvania, Washington DC, Albany, and some other places around Central New York are coming to visit.
Meteornotes Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 I get my eye surgery next Tuesday, so we'll be staying home for Thanksgiving, which we have never done since we were married. Mary will make food, and hopefully I'll be able to see it... dt
Nrthwnd Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 I have a pharmacy pickup, that day. But then - I "sort of" celebrated it, last month.
RaptorBoyASU Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 I'm going to SFMM in the morning, then off to some friend of a friend's place for dinner around 3pm. Sit around and play games that night. The rest of the weekend will be spent helping the sig other move into my apartment.
socalMAN123 Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 We're going to go hang out with my cousins and my dad's mom and brother. Then, for the important part (food) we're heading to my aunt's parent's house for dinner with all the crazy uncles. Yay for sitting around and somehow ending up making fun of some politician! ---Brent
arrowfanman Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 I'm sort of assist-hosting my families Thanksgiving. Elissa, hun. You do know you're invited to come get some bird or something. Door's open. -Jahan
AllenA07 Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 I'm not sure yet, with finals right around the corner I might stay home and just do something with the girlfriend. There is still a chance however we pack up and I make the 6 hour drive to my parents place.
onewheeled999 Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 Holy crap! Thanksgiving is next week?!?!
krazekiddd Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 I'm spending Thanksgiving with my peeps from the Midwest trip!
BeemerBoy Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 My mom's not even cooking Question is, will you be? As for us, Thanksgiving is the big holiday of the year for our family. Every year we rotate between hosting it in Klantucky, er, Kentucky and North Georgia, where the other half resides. We average between 60-80 people each year, which qualifies it as a yearly family reunion.....and a great opportunity for a kickass backyard football game! This year we'll be in KY, and I can't believe it's already that time of year.
ParkTrips Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 A Thanksgiving edition would be interesting, but Thanksgiving is expensive to prepare a meal for as it is, I do't need to spend a ton of money just to screw it up
RCFreak Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 I think there will be a small family thing, btu as I have to be at work at 4AM the next morning, I'm sure I'll be popping a few Simply Sleeps.
Nrthwnd Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 I don't need to spend a ton of money just to screw it up Sure you do. It's The American Way. (Edit: I must add, that I always find this The Most Anticipated Holiday of the calendar year - for better or worse, whichever way it {and one's family} goes, lol.)
Pufferfish Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 Normally, we go to Myrtle Beach for thanksgiving, but we can't because of two things, 1 my grandmother isn't in the health to make the trip, 2 my sister has to work thanksgiving with the theater, so now we're just staying home
SharkTums Posted November 16, 2007 Author Posted November 16, 2007 ^^^^I will gladly contribute some money to the "Cooking with Joe - Thanksgiving Edition"!!!! I bet others will too. Seriously Joe...If you'll cook a Thanksgiving Spread (Joe Style), and of course do a Photo TR, we'll supply the money!
larrygator Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 I'll be drinking a lot on Tuesday and Wednesday night. My mom cancelled Thanksgiving this year so I'll hang with my best friend and family on Turkey Day. I'll bring a Carvel Tom the Turkey cake. I haven't had a Carvel in about 15 years, and my best friend had to work at Carvel in High School, so it will be funny. Friday after Thanksgiving - back a destroying my liver at a wedding.
