MagicSpringsGuy Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 I just got back from a cast celebration at the Magic Kingdom at 3:30 in the morning, and they were testing the 'ice' lighting on the castle for the Christmas parties. I was able to get a couple of photos on my way out. I took this one with the thought of using it as a desktop background This is the first year they have done this to the castle here, and it looks amazing!
piers Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 That does look really amazing, I really love the different ways the light up the castle. It looked awesome at Halloween. Much nicer than when they added those awful plastic cake decorations a while back!
CoasterJunkie Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 WOW!!! Its looks AMAZING. I wish I was going to the party just for the pictures. I would love to have a wallpaper of that
Hattuchili Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 They are doing the lights since a few years at Disneyland Paris for christmas, but this looks really amazing! I wish I could be there for the christmas time! Â --Soren
montezooma Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 I am going to be there next week, when does the Christmas celebration begin?

Flippero95 Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 That looks so cool! (no pun intended). I'm trying to convince my husband that we should just 'skip' Christmas this year and go to WDW instead. So far, no luck.
Chrissie Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 That is gorgeous!! Â I don't know why they didn't do it before! Wish I was there
mcjaco Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 ^ I was thinking the same thing. Now I want to go back again.
RCFreak Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 That's friggin' awesome! Can't wait to see how DL's tiny terror turns out.
Cyber.Fiber Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 Wow! The Castle Looks Lovely! Now... How much did it cost?
exit english Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 Oh man, Oh man... I really want to go now. Â -Josh
nay Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 That looks amazing! I can't wait to see them when I go next month.
nay Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 ^ Yeah, I just can't resist the holiday events at WDW!
SharkTums Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 We'll be there over the Xmas break as well! Probably closer to New Years though.
jackskellington101 Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 Very pretty lighting scheme. How much longer till they turn into Cinderella's Festival of Dancing Lights sponsored by Sylvania?
MagicSpringsGuy Posted November 11, 2007 Author Posted November 11, 2007 Here are a couple more pictures courtesy of the cast preview for Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade. This is me. If you ever get to the Magic Kingdom between now and January 5, come say hi! It looks like it turns purple when the parade comes by. Sorry about the tilted angle. I had to reach over some people and wasn't able to see my screen. What it will look like with the Holiday decorations on Main Street.
mmousefan Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 ^ I was there too in the cast preview of the parade. When we got there the castle was turned off and I was hoping that theu would lit it, and then when the parade was about to start, BUM!!! They turned it on. Let me tell you the pics doesnt do justice to the Castle prettyness. Its so awesome!!!
socalMAN123 Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 Wow, that looks incredible! This proves how much more the Disneyland castle sucks! Brent "all we got was some stupid pigeon poop!" Shenton
haiderodes Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 ^ Disneyland is getting their own special treatment for Sleeping Beauty Castle. I'm sure it will be pretty cool in its own, petite way.
moviekid21 Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 I was wondering if anyone knows if WDW does the same thing as DL with their Haunted Mansion and making it all "Nightmare Before Christmas" themed?
