TheBannedKid
Sounds like a rumor... http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=35614
itnotfair
I agree. Especially the part that says: New Attraction - Rumor - (10/8/08) That's what tipped me off!
TheBannedKid
Hence, perfect subject matter for the Rumor Superthread, and not a separate one.
itnotfair
Agh forums...you know I spent 10 minutes looking for a KBF superthread before I posted this so nobody would get mad? Sorry to break the rules.
FlyingScooter
Okay, here's my latest rumor; Cedar Point, in attempt to gain stock-holder confidence, announces their New Wood Coaster for 2009!!!! Son of Mean Beast Dipper Streak!!!! could be fun...
jpdupuis
It was now a question of time, but cedar point revealed a clue on the on-point blog! A shipment of wood. A recent shipment, that is. Within the past week. We love receiving shipments like this. We suppose you could say we never get board with it. It's Cedar-fantastic. We bet you're all pining to know what it's for... Just leaf it to us experts and we'll search the park's trunk for answers. Thank you, thank you. We'll be here all week. Link here So...a woodie coaster...prabably! Let's start this crazy rumor machine! The picture in question
coasterlover04
Cedar Point will be adding treese next year! However, they are going to make them so they don't have to be maintained. Just apply a fresh coat of paint every spring to make them look like new. Seriously, it's probably for an overhaul of Meanstreak.
Carnage
^ Unless "overhaul" means "flatten and rebuild" I doubt it's for Mean Streak. They wouldn't make a big fuss about something like that, as that happens every year. My best guess would be a GCI on the beach replacing Disaster Transport. Or an aquatrax. Wes
^ I think there was a rumor that GCI was going to overhaul large sections of the ride...sort of like what they did for Son of Beast.
robbalvey
^ I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not! GCI never touched SoB....someone else did that work. I'll bet they are building a fence. --Robb
Wes
I thought they were the ones who did the section where the loop was, although maybe I just made that up because I remember hearing that news from Scarlet Johanssen while we were riding a unicorn. jpdupuis
Looking again at the Cedar Point's blog, i saw that some word were in italic...and i was wondering...what do they mean?? -Board -Cedar -Pining -Leaf -Trunk So...is cedar point entering in the "marketing" teaser for the new attractions...(Hersheypark is the best exemple with fareneith)? We'll discover it soon i guess!
natatomic
^They're hinting at the name of their next coaster, Son of a Beech.

Homer
Types of firewood available at Camper Village is the answer.
coolhandluke
Trash cans going organic? If this really is something substantial, why have we not heard about it before now? I realize this place isn't the most fond of CP, but its news is still prominently discussed here.
Astat
There are essentially no construction markers anywhere at Cedar Point as of last weekend, other than a couple red and yellow flags off to the side of the Frontier Trail that have been there pretty much all year. It's probably wood for rehabbing one of their existing coasters. If they were building a new one, there would have been a lot more evidence of it by now. The CP blog posted a teaser involving wood near the end of the '05 season as well, and that just turned out to be wood for rehabbing Gemini. RedB
^ I think there was a rumor that GCI was going to overhaul large sections of the ride...sort of like what they did for Son of Beast. Yeah, that's the rumor on screamscape. Though I have to wonder, is Mean Streak savable?
Homer
Well, it seems that Screamscape has posted yet again the rumor of Disney still looking into buying Busch. I really hope it is as off kilter as it sounds and doesn't happen. If it does, likely that Busch Gardens Africa will go away because of Animal Kingdom. Anybody but Disney, anybody... RedB
I'm personally hoping the rumor of the Busch family getting a financial partner and spinning the parks off comes true.
scruffy
Yeah, that's the rumor on screamscape. Though I have to wonder, is Mean Streak savable? Depends if Cedar Point can get Mean Streak running like it did the first years.
sam06pr
I'm personally hoping the rumor of the Busch family getting a financial partner and spinning the parks off comes true. I think that is more likely than Disney buying BEC. I highly doubt that Disney would buy a park, they prefer to build new ones. Why would they buy SWO DC and Aquatica when it is not in their resort area? If Disney and only if, Disney were to buy a park from BEC, it would only be Discovery Cove
kalvin
I think Cedar Point is gonning to tear down Mean Streak and build a CGI coaster in its place and SFA and CGA will become Geauga Lake.
cprocks22
^While I pray that's true, I doubt it is. My guess is a new something* going in on Millennium Island, why would they build a permanent bridge over there just for a scare zone? *Doesn't mean wooden coaster, I would love if it was, it very well may be for something else entirely however. Groteslurf
Walibi Belgium : the removal of Vertigo is now also a fact according to the newspapers in Belgium. According to the papers, WB will NOT open a new ride next season. So the novelty for next season will be that Vertigo isn't there anymore
