Android Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 Check this out! I thought it was really cool! it would make for one hell of a ride.
Carnage Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 Cool looking concept, but I doubt it would ever get built. What with all the problems that came with the 4D.
kraxleRIDAH Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 Uh. Looks interesting, but I think I'll pass. Think about how sick people would get on that. It's pretty much like a Space training sphere.
Xtreme-me Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 Cool idea but it would never happen. How would they control the chairs?
VegasCoaster Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 Controlling that mechanically would be a lot of fun and logistically it almost has to be computer controlled in order to have it load since it will naturally want to have riders on their backs. They could put little brackets on the side of the car and have that catch on a track to bring it to a horizontal position with, but all of this is too complicated. The Robocoaster will do pretty much the same thing and looks much better.
Worm Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 they can make it launched and call it the VOMIT COMET
the sound Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 Kind of looks like a robocoaster. Yeah, i'd pass on that one to.
Scaparri Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 That's just too much. Honestly, I wouldn't have a problem if coaster technology just stopped for a while. There is so much out there as it is and there is still so much that can be done.
phazan Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 I would rather ride a fun coaster than a super-futuristic coaster...I'll pass.
bulldogmom Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 Just watching that makes me sick. I'll pass, too. Besides that, I just don't think this would be feasible- would appeal to too few people to be worthwhile.
Guy T. Koepp Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 Why not just climb into a giant hamster ball and roll yourself down a hill. Same effect, no harness.
pete4winds Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 ^ isn't that already being done, too? I don't remember the website offhand, but I know it's been posted here before...
Sean Menefee Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 Why not just climb into a giant hamster ball and roll yourself down a hill. Same effect, no harness. Ahhh Zorbing.......
exmouse Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 There are plans for a robo coaster coaster. ie. a Robo coaster arm travelling along coaster track. Kuka were dsipalying it at IAAPA a couple of years back. I guess you could call this a 5D coaster.
steel Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 That's just too much. Honestly, I wouldn't have a problem if coaster technology just stopped for a while. There is so much out there as it is and there is still so much that can be done. Exactly. I don't even like the concept of the Robocoaster. It doesn't feel right to me.
exmouse Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 In fact scroll down half way and you'll find the robocoaster on track concept. http://www.coastersandmore.de/rides/iaapa2004/iaapa1_e.shtml
Satoshi Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 1d coaster element -- only straight parts 2d coaster element -- up & down and straight parts 3d coaster element -- up & down and straight parts, turns, loops, twists 4d coaster element -- up & down and straight parts, turns, loops, twists, and seat rotations 5d coaster element -- up & down and straight parts, turns, loops, twists, seat rotations, and robo coastic motions? i think 5d coaster is gonna make you feel dizzy so the motion is way too tight for people.....
Jayjay719 Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 Looks interesting, but I agree let coaster technology slow down a wee bit.
Canobie Fan Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 How would you even load a train like that? Unless it came into the staion as an invert coaster.
Guy T. Koepp Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 A 5th dimension coaster. That sounds great. www.tunefan.com/5thdimension.htm Guy "They are one of my favorite bands. It's high time someone made a coaster out of them." Koepp
cfc Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 ^They could call it "My Beautiful Balloon." As for the "5D coaster," that's OK--reckon I'll pass.
coaster-inc Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 what they should do as a 5d is the 5 dimension is customer interaction.... IE they get to roll around a set track but get to control the cars movement to however they want to ride, no rides can be the same and can be as puke inducing as people dare to go...
