Hmm, from this trailer, it looks like the sort of movie I would want to see, which means two hours of giant robots blasting the crap out of everything on the planet. However, I've read other articles about the movie that says there's a lot of "comedy" in it, which is NOT what I want to see in a movie about giant robots (lame-assed comedy = less time for sequences of destruction and death). So I'm sort of skeptical at this point...

I stand by my original thoughts...It's very nice of Michael Bay to attempt his own version of Independance Day! Seriously, everything from the movie posters, to the trailer just SCREAMS "Hi, I'm Michael Bay...This is my Aliens coming to Earth" movie. It just so happens that I'm totally butchering a franchise in the process!

I mean, the effects look great, I'm sure it will have the typical Michael Bay nonstop action sequences, but I don't see much more to it.

If it's true that they just moved Die Hard 4 to the same release date I worry about how well this movie will do since it seems like very similar demographics to DH4.

The trailer was put together well. We honestly almost never run out to see a movie when it first comes out. If the reviews are generally positive we may go out and see it. Yeah, probably wait for DVD. Like Elissa said, it really looks a lot like ID4...a movie which I did not like at all.

^^ Penguin? *shudders*

If it wasn't coming out next year, perhaps--but there is just too many movies I want to see coming out next year, that Transformers isn't amazing enough to make it into "next years budget".

Maybe on DVD, if the reviews are decent.

Definately looks better than the teaser trailer that was out earlier.

I mean, it looks cool, and lots of stuff blowing up is always good. But War of the Worlds also looked cool from it's trailers, and look how that turned out.

I do have hopes that it will be good though. If there was a poll option for Semi-intrigued, that's what I would pick.

But it's most likely a DVD rental for us.

Growing up with these toys makes me want to see it, no matter who directs it. I think it will be a pretty good movie. Probably not the best groundbreaking movie ever made, but entertaining anyways. I'll give my $10 at the theaters.

The trailer itself looks pretty good. Lot's of good action money shots and they did a nice job of showing just enough of the robots to keep fans intrigued.

I agree with Rich, if you grew up with the toys and were a fan in the 80s, it's a must see no matter who directs it. I happen to actually be a fan of Bay's films so it's a no brainer for me.

If he wasn't going to be in Spain at the time, I know I'd be sitting with Derek in the front row on opening night.

I will go see it. I loved transformers when I was a kid but i have only seen the, no information movie trailer, at the movies. So I really dont know what the movie will be about. But I will go see it probably.

Grew up with Transformers as my fave cartoon so I have to support this. Looks quite cool and it was sweet to see Optimus Prime show up.

So what if its like every other action movie - what action movie isnt? They are all the same.

Sorry, these kinds of movies just ain't my cuppa tea, although, I will probably end up seeing it because of my eleven-year-old brother.

I will wait for opinions of fans, To me it looks like a story that just has Transformers plugged in. (Similar to Street Fighter and everybody knows how that movie was) I will say wait till DVD for now but maybe if I have some hours to kill at a layover in DC I might see it. I would rather see DH4 but I cannot see both these movies coming out the same day.

I'd like to see this in theaters, but if it sucks as much as Michael Bay's last remake (Miami Vice), then count me out. Hopefully with Spielberg behind it, it will be a decent film.

Uhhh...Michael Bay had nothing to do with Miami Vice. That was Michael Mann. Michael Bay's last movie was The Island.

Michael Bay did not do Miami Vice. His last movie was "The Island."

It definitely doesn't look like the same Transformers I grew up watching on tv and playing with (still do sometimes when I'm really bored). From the preview, it looks like something that could keep me interested for the duration, though I wish the robots looked less bionical-like. (where are you supposed to hide your doors, wheels, etc when you're a giant robot version of Paris Hilton, complete with buggy eyes and everything?) Bay will probably ruin it for me, as I haven't really liked anything else he's done, but I'll go see it in the theaters just to pay my respects to Optimus and the others. But I won't be there on opening day, I can guarantee that (unless there's a special showing on the TPR bus over in Spain!)

I was able to see the trailer, definitely looks like it will be a good action movie. It's too soon to tell if it will have a good plot, acting, etc. though

D'Oh! That was a brain fart on my end. I guess I'm more optimistic, now.
