ChainDog
Here's another link on that site: http://home.f01.itscom.net/spiral/hashima/hashima001.html. Since I don't speak Japanese I did a quick search on the name "Hashima". Here's the link I found: http://www.uwosh.edu/home_pages/faculty_staff/earns/hashima.html Truly a sad story, but quite interesting. I learned a little more about the Japan of the WWII era and the Mitsibishi corporation and thought you might be interested too.
socalMAN123
OMG that's creepy! It would be fun to buy that place out and play paintball in it! So man things to hide behind and great areas for bunkering! ---Brent 8)
CstrzRock
Just found out some more info on the first park. The park is actually called "Takakonuma Greenland" http://www.rcdb.com/pd1240.htm The same guy has an English site with even more pictures of the place: http://www.juergenspecht.com/documentations/?number=40&page=1 The Jet Star that you saw was not a Schwarzkopf... it was a clone. [Thanks Duane of RCDB for the links and information. ]
jackskellington101
Wow, that is exremely creepy. It's like straight out of some horror movie. You can't build a better looking set than that.
thefitness
strange....why are they all abandoned? the pictures look awesome though.
Ccron10
All you need is a gigantic tub of rust-away, a lawnmower, and a few coats of paint. But becides that the coaster looks functionable.
thomas2
Oooh I love the strangness of this place. It's so mysterieus; it would be great for a thriller or horror movie. Hooray for abandonded japanese parks!

Spookbaby
It's so sad to look at those pictures and think that at some point in time this were probably some awesome rides that tons of people rode, enjoyed, and possibly hurled from and now it's glory days are over. odene497
It looks like someplace I'd have a dream. That's so creepy and cool at the same time.
fanatix
I have seen these pictures before.... I even have some of the pictures saved on my computer. I think its sad and kinda cool to see. I wonder if the local kids go in at night or talk about the park as being haunted?

Coasterphreak
Very nice. Abandoned theme parks are a bit of an obsession of mine, so I always like to see more. If you want CREEPY, go look at these pictures of Heritage USA as it was a year or two ago (before they knocked down the waterpark and started restoring the buildings). www.illicitohio.com/SBNO/heritage/heritage01.html
Fallen Heretic
Some of these would make excellent ghost walks or similar type thing. Ive seen night time pictures of old abandoned parks with woodie structure still standing. And you thought the fog was creepy looking. Little lightbulb just went on over my head. The official TPR midnight abandoned park walks. Torchlight only. Now THATS a scarey thought.

thomas2
I wonder how fun that coaster was. Maybe it just sucked the whole ride and it wasn't worth standing. Guess we'll never know
the sound
Looks like Knotts. Alright, enough of me trying to be funny. And Lame. This is one of many parks like this. i remember seeing some photos of Old Inidana in its Abonded days. it looked realy creepy. As does thsi park. I can also rembember seeing some photos of a Ukrainean park near Chernobyl, before the explosion. ALso creepy.
Zen Coaster
As a couple of people have already said, it would make for a great scary movie set - as a filmmaker that was actually my first thought on seeing the shots. I would love to explore the first park - maybe before or after the 2007 Japan trip perhaps?
jynx242
It definitely looks creepy - but my first emotion upon seeing that was sadness. Imagine, all the people that used to go there with their families for a good time. You can picture it clean with fresh paint and people around - then realize what it is like now. sad
gisco
So is this park on the itinerary for the RPR weird parks of Japan trip next month?
gerstlaueringvar
Looks pretty creepy but an adventure must be great! Maybe we can find Japan's nuclear weapon underneath the park It's really magical that I can surf Japanese web! Even though I only know about 5% of the characters. cfc
So is this park on the itinerary for the RPR weird parks of Japan trip next month? Maybe they'll get ERT on the rusty, dilapidated Jet Coaster.
