goleafsgo Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 Well, i went to the Jays game tonight. I got great seats from a friend of mine's dad. Anyhoo, the Jays won (walkoff homer in the bottom of the 10th), and i got home and i saw the highlights... and i was on TV; for a total of about 1 second! anyone else been on TV?
Scaparri Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 I was on ESPN this year in May while at qualifications for the Indy 500. My brother and I have become sort of famous/well known around the Indycar circuit for our support of our favorite driver. We've also been interviewed and filmed by numerous new stations, but I'm not sure if we actually made it onto the news.
Carnage Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 What were you doing at a Jays game? Should have been at home watching training camp coverage on LeafsTV. With the opening of training camp the Jays,Argos, and Raptors officially don't exist anymore.
zaneymon Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 I went to a kids TV show for my 10th birthday and i was picked to play the first game of the day and i was on TV for about 5 min. Yea it was fun. Zane "I got a some random prizes out of it" Williams
Luxo Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 That's cool! 60 seconds of national fame! As for me... My mom's a child nutritionist who appears several times on the local news, and I am usually there to help her demonstrate certain procedures. Nothing major.
Satoshi Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 good thing goleafsgo was on TV! 1 seconds on the highlights made us soooo glad yeah! you're cool! question: should we accept the offer if TV crews asked for you to reply to the questions? yes or no?!
roasted_marshmallow Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 I was on Flames TV last year actually. During the season opener we went to a well known sports pub in Calgary and they were interviewing people asking them who their favorite player was and my response was "I cheer for the Flaming C on the front of the jersey, not the name on the back" and I was on the first episode of Flames TV on Sportsnet I think it was at the end right before the credits. Good stuff.
Homer Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 Robb and I have never been on TV. Best reply in this thread yet! For me, I'm on TV all the time. I'm not a celebrity, however, I do the school news. Lets just say the school news is not a glamarous job and there is always one problem happening and that we are the butt of the school.
rcoasters Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 I have been on TV 3-4 times. As some of you may know, I am a big DDR fan, so I was on TV to show DDR about 4 years ago ! Then all the times that I was on TV was that my girlfriends friends were part of a trivia show in which schools "battle" against each other with questions in general knowledge, politics, etc. I was part of the public that went like " WOOO, LET'S GO !!!".
SonOfBeastSucks Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 I am usually on my school's TV morning announcements at least once a week, and I was interviewed on New Year's Eve 2005 downtown by the local NBC affiliate and was on TV for a few minutes.
Bush985 Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 I was actually on the news yesterday in the Bay area for San Jose State Sports. I'm in leader in our Student Booster Club. Click here to see that (I'm just to her left at the begenning of the segment) I was also on the news earlier this year talking about What's New at Northern California theme parks. They actually brought me down into the studio and did a five minute interview. It was pretty cool. I'll try to get that on You Tube on of these days. I just gotta get it off hte DVD I have been on a few more times for small things, but those are the biggest. -RD
mr_teisco_delrey Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 Robb and I have never been on TV. Riiiiiiiiiiiiight!!
mr_teisco_delrey Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 I was on Disney Channel 23 yrs ago. I was in a stage band for a college TV show called "Coming On". We backed up other performers while the show was shooting at U of I in Chicago.
USRoadTripper Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 Most recently, I was in the Building the Biggest show that aired on Discovery Channel seemingly everywhere in the world except in the States! I was pretty surprised at how long the camera stayed on me! I was in the audience for a taping of the Price is Right in 2001...I didn't get called on down, but you can see me in the background yelling out prices hahaha And when I was in high school, I was briefly on Oprah. She had a contest where she asked people to make commercials for products they liked and she would air the best ones. So my family made a Certs commercial, with the tagline "Certs, for a breath of fresh air" and she showed it! And wouldn't know know that within a month, Certs was using my tagline in their commercials!! -Julie
Scaparri Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 Most recently, I was in the Building the Biggest show that aired on Discovery Channel seemingly everywhere in the world except in the States! I was pretty surprised at how long the camera stayed on me! Yeah, I've been kind of curious if I was visible much in that show. Would you happen to have a copy of it Julie. I'm curious to see how it turned out.
CoasterCrazy Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 I have been on TV five times in my life that I remember. Extreme Rides 2002 Royal Rumble 2002 Monday night Raw 3 times
TheKlockster Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 I was on that Supercoasters show on National Geographic that aired this year.
TopThrillCoaster Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 ^I saw that. It was awesome!! I've never been on TV but my dad was on the news before.
odene497 Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 I was a caller on Slime Time Live on Nickelodeon in fourth grade, i got the person slimed, and won a RAD 2.0 robot!, I wish the prize was better at the time. And no they don't just pick a name out of that thing and call, they told me I was picked like 2 weeks ahead of time, even though it's quite obvious they don't call a random person, I just thought I'd say.
Jew Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 I pretty much grew up on the set of the KTLA morning news out here in L.A.
DATman Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 Never been on TV, making this post utterly meaningless... Heck, I barely sneak into my High Schools slideshows, and I was lucky I knew someone on the yearbook crew...
ParkTrips Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 I generally try to avoid it, HOWEVER I did do sports broadcasting in high school on our local station. I don't want to see my face on tv, why would someone else?
DailyBugle_JL Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 I dont know if ive been on TV or not. Ive been hearing this rumor about me and Goliath. Ive never seen a Goliath commercial so i dont know.
Erik Johnson Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 Nothing really special. I did do several things for our local public access station back 1990 involving the "local Gainesville band scene." Cox Cable 8 rules!!
