DarkStitch626 Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 Premier rides are all down..so I guess the Intamins caught a case of the bird flue!
pkdcoaster Posted September 14, 2006 Author Posted September 14, 2006 Premier rides are all down..so I guess the Intamins caught a case of the bird flue! Well IJ, FOF and Jokers Jinx are all open. I think it is just the SF Premier Shuttles that are down (Chiller & Freeze's) JEFF
Top Thrill Dragster Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 Xcelerator has been down since 8-20-06 due to catch car problems.
DarkStitch626 Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 ^^ I was keeping it in context because alot of premiers are down thats all.
SharkTums Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 Derek rode Storm Runner over the weekend. Could it just be that the crappy park (knotts) didn't take care of theirs, and TTD and KK are always broken?
FLIPDUDE Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 Derek rode Storm Runner over the weekend. Could it just be that the crappy park (knotts) didn't take care of theirs, and TTD and KK are always broken? Watch your mouth! Knott's is buckets of fun! But I do agree, TTD and KK break down like twice an hour. which is pretty impressive considering it takes two hours to repair it each time. but seriously, one time I had to wait like 3-4 hours for KK while I was already standing in the station itself, because it kept breaking down! it broke down like 8 times that day
rabid disney Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 Superman down here runing as sexy as ever.
gyjdnb Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 have to say that Superman here in aus does seem to be the best behaved of the rockets. kanonen also seems to be pretty reliable (though not when the tpr tour was there) stealth was down for a couple of weeks, but is back running consistently now. Rita is fairly good- dull ride, but works most of the time. so the smaller rockets seems to be working best. Looks like any 500 foot monsters might have to wait for a while.
pvcoasterguy Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 Well, the amount of stress that is put on a ride that goes 120 mph+ is enormous. The smaller rockets are obviously going to work better as less stress=less maintainence/downtime. Though, of course, some blame would have to be put on the parks. I feel the rocket coaster system is only good for smaller rides at this point, until the technology becomes more reliable.
Carnage Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 kanonen also seems to be pretty reliable (though not when the tpr tour was there) Kanonen ran just fine when we were there. Speed Monster was the only rocket on the trip that had problems.
gyjdnb Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 ^ ah yes my bad. All those scandanavian rockets look the same
CoasterFanatic Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 Speed Monster was the only rocket on the trip that had problems. Yeah, but Stealth did catch a case of the "bird flew". // glad it waited till we left before blowing up
gyjdnb Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 made quite a bang by all acounts. scared the crap out of the ride ops, not really surprising.
deguy123 Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 I rode KK Friday night 9/8, must have went down after that.
pkdcoaster Posted September 14, 2006 Author Posted September 14, 2006 Looks like only the Mega Rockets were affected by "something" or maybe one big coincidence Thanks for everybodys input. I hope KK is open next week for credits sake (OK 128mph sounds like fun) JEFF
saxman47 Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 yeah from what I've heard KK was running all night friday till 1am, then mysteriously sat and sun it was closed all day with no signs of any activity. They even closed off the whole Golden Kingdom area, which is not good. anyway I hope it is up and running by the 23rd because I'll be at the park and I finally convinced my dad to come along and ride El Toro and pkdcoaster I'm not sure if you've been to the park this year yet, but dare I say you may have a new favorite woody Make sure to take some good video, your 1999/2001 gadv video is one of my favorites!!
RaptorBoyASU Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 I read something about a TTD incident over the weekend, but couldn't find details. So that's prob just a rumor, but I've also heard all the mega rockets ared down.
pkdcoaster Posted September 14, 2006 Author Posted September 14, 2006 and pkdcoaster I'm not sure if you've been to the park this year yet, but dare I say you may have a new favorite woody Make sure to take some good video, your 1999/2001 gadv video is one of my favorites!! I have not been there since Oct. 2001, so there are a couple new things I need to try out Main goal is El Toro but it would be nice to ride KK as well. I love the Grtadv video as well but it is just my footage, my buddy Chris did a fantastic editing job on it. If anybody goes this weekend (SFGAd) please update us on KK, thanks. JEFF
TPDave Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 Stealth is by no means reliable at the moment, It's not been down for days on end in about a month, but it has it's 20 - 30 minute closures on a daily basis.
Hercules Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 Seriously though, is it really a surprise that they are down?
jamesdillaman Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 ^ Um, Yes! TTD's been operating almost daily for a couple years. Sure it has it's downtime, but MF has been closed more this year than TTD has. -James Dillaman
Hercules Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 Eh, I'm not surprised. Almost daily eh? Didn't have an oil leak that had it down for a few weeks towards the end of the season last year?
