Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

P. 2038: Top Thrill 2 reopens on May 3rd!

Recommended Posts

I've been thinking, what if "in a whole new direction" meant backwards instead of going forwards. They could have 2 trains, maybe one backwards and one forwards giving "in a whole new direction" meaning. Probably not true but it would be a good idea IF the ride was smooth.

I'm all for a record breaking-looper as long as there is at least some substance to the ride. That means a custom layout (no Colossus derivative) with a few non inversion elements thrown in as well. An air hill and helix somewhere along the circuit would be enough. An entirely new inversion would be a great idea too if they could come up with something good.

How about a 500 foot elevator lift (Like LoCoSuMo), more-than-verticle drop, 10 inversions, then a boomerang like spike, and while the car is held on that spike, there's a track switch much like EE at animal kingdom, and the train goes backwards through airtime filled bunny hops before splashing down in the bay of sandusky (it IS an aquatrax after all...) Yeah, I'd ride it...

That could be a fun way!

They could add just six inversions (go forward and backwards) and then break the inversion record in about a 40 second timeframe..wheee lol

A shuttle coaster with 6 inversions is only counted as 6 inversions, not 12. Vekoma boomerangs have 3, even though they go through each one twice.

I read on Screamscape that the ride will have 2 different sections. The first one will have a regular lift hill, and the 2nd one will have a launched section besude the station. If Aqua Trax do have launched section, then my bet is and Aqua Trax.

That ride would be beyond awesome. Now, I'm really hoping for something like that in the form of an Intamin multi-looper.

ID like to know where they got this information from. I do not believe a word that any employee says - ever. Only a small portion are coaster geeks who would even know who makes the track let alone know the design.

If the two writers (restraining from calling them names) had to get "in the know" I doubt anyone else knows. Anything that Screamscape says or anyone else is pure fiction at this point with no validity.

If it is going to become a "two part" coaster, then perhaps they can have the red track for the first half and change the track color for the second half..lol

Hmmm, two-parts (aqua-track theory coming back into play again). LOL!

If it is a western-themed coaster, I wish they painted it similar to DW-Tenn. Tornado or Wildfire (SDC). Give it a rustic 'old west' look.

Ya, I know that a shuttle loop coaster would only count as one set of inversion, but you know how marketing departments can be creative and say it is 12 (with 6 inversion elements).

Someone should ask an employee if it's a B&M. Then if they say yes, we know they're lying!

I still can't see the pictures on PB (I am a member), could someone either explain what's wrong or post the pics on here, and just give the credit to PB?

Look at the FAQ on PB.

And, Tony and Tyler didn't need to get in the know, it was just a tease. They obviously have known for a while now.

Then whats the point asking?
