slither37 Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 I have found the Raptor crews and Gemini crews to be fun. Maybe you just caught them on a bad day. I check out the webcams on the website almost daily and it looks as though there is no "light" crowd days this year, according to what the parking lot looks like from the the cam on TTD. . Every day it appears to be very crowded. I rarely spend the entire day there anymore, get there for the morning ERT and we can usually get on Maverick, MF and Raptor which leaves just enough time to go over to WT before 10am. Ride some flats, see a show, and when the park gets very crowded, we leave. For me, it is mostly about being with my daughter, coasters and rides are just extra. PKI, we are headed to KI for morning ERT on Saturday, will you be working then? we will stop by and say hello.
alpengeist04 Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 ^I do the same thing as you slither37, but of course for me it's at BGT. I get there at opening head to Montu first, then head to the back of the park and have Kumba to my self for a few rides, and finally end up at SheiKra for a few spins. I'm usually in and out of the park in 2 hours or so. Come to think of it, I do the same thing at Seaworld, USF, and IOA.
dammie16@vt.edu Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 Went on Maverick today front row 1.5 hour wait not too shabby and it delivered too! Then I hit the rapids which i had never done before and they were empty and while boring still good because you will ALWAYS get wet ::giggety::
slither37 Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 August 6th, 2009 blog CP website showing that the addition, whatever it is, will in fact be on MF island. I would guess a GCI or GG woodie, but we are talking about CF. My best guess: Either a coaster or a flat or a water ride. Really going out on a limb here! But a more accurate guess is that a large number of people will run the new ride down before it is even built. Turns out it is a GCI woodie!
Tbcoasterfan Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 When I went to Cedar Point last Tuesday I was quite impressed with Raptors current crew in hitting their intervals. *Note I used to work on Raptor so I know them* I think they have a pretty good crew this season.
triggernel Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 Could someody please give me an acurate idea about how many rides I will be able to get in on an August Thursday twilight ticket, on the good rides, like MF, Mav, and TTD? Also will I be able to hit all those rides on an early admission on an August Friday morning? And what is a good plan of attack there on an August Friday morning? Thanks!

I would say (depending on what you pick) you'll get three to four big coasters in on Thursday night. Friday morning I'd start with Maverick, Millennium, Dragster, then Raptor. Park in the back at the Gemini lot so you won't have a long walk to Maverick. Hopefully if you get there early you won't wait too long. Millennium Force will ALWAYS have a line as will Maverick. Even on slow days in May I sometimes wait 30-45 minutes for Maverick.

Tbcoasterfan Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 ^Well Cedar Point's official Twitter page did have a single entry that said "Aquatrax?" Maybe he's not too far off huh? *Edit* I guess to add to my discussion that if they are indeed building an Aquatrax, which it certainly looks like they will be, I just hope there is a pretty good amount of theming

dandaman Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 ^I think we can be sure now. CP posted on Facebook: "Gee, See Eye!"
LJGoBlue Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 ^Yes, but they also posted "Aquatrax?" on their Twitter as stated earlier.
Homer Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 Cedar Point getting a good wooden coaster, possibly themed after brown recluse spiders. Dohohoho.
coolcalicoaster Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 ^Now, thats a good one Lets just hope the kids dont overuse it
dammie16@vt.edu Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 I have always said the three things CP is missing before I can call it a complete park. 1. Good Wood 2. A FREAKING DARK RIDE HELLOOO!!!! 3. Log Flume (OK so I didn't always say always for this but they still need one) The wooden coaster wood (hehe) be called arachnaphobia (SP?)
coasterfan21 Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 What ever Cedar Point builds i'm sure it will be great and I cant wait to ride it because i'm planning on heading out there next summer. One question I have about the park though (and i'm sorry if this has already been asked) is if any of there rides have a hight maximum. I am almost 77" tall and I just wanna be prepared for the rides I may have to miss.
LJGoBlue Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 ^^Yes I completely agree with you. A dark ride and an awesome woody is needed. It is pretty sad that a park of this magnitude does not have a good wooden coaster or even a freaking dark ride.
coolcalicoaster Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 ^They do have a dark ride and I agree they need a good wooden coaster.
slither37 Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 Cedar Point will be getting a GCI wood coaster. Yay, I was right! LOL. Now there will be less reason to ride MS. I will not guess the entire name, but will guess that it starts with the letter M.

slither37 Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 ^ That would make sense, it will be close to Maverick and could have an entrance from Frontier Trail.
coolcalicoaster Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 I would be so excited to see a GCI, I just hope they don't theme it to a new movie.

A good way to be sure of stuff like this is to visit Cedar Point's website.
