PKI Jizzman Posted April 29, 2007 Posted April 29, 2007 ^If by MCBR, you mean the brakes before the launch, then yes. It will stop to about 2-5 MPH...from the videos it looked like you will be at 2 mph and then wheels will push you to the LIMs

Todd Lee Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 There's some nice new footage of Maverick here, with some great arial video too! HERE!!
thrillrideseeker Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 WOW! I like so enjoyed that video!! I loved the shots from the air!! Thanks for posting the link to them I can so not wait for a POV though!! Maverick looks amazing!! ~Matthew
MARK Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 It looks like they've replaced a bit of the theming in the initial video, like the canyon after the air hill, with plain wooden fencing. Doesn't look quite as good IMHO.
Calaway Park Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 There's some nice new footage of Maverick here, with some great arial video too! HERE!! HAHA, he said the tunnel is low to the ground to give the *SENSATION* of going faster in the tunnel. So, it doesn't launch you, you just feel like it lol... It doesn't mention the launch anywhere, and they spelled building wrong...
hemmy Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 No you just heard him wrong. He said there was a tunnel:pause:And its low to the ground to give the the sensation of blah blah blah...
matteocrepaldi Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 The areal views were pretty nice! I'm still waiting for some good quality testing videos.
Calaway Park Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 No you just heard him wrong. He said there was a tunnel:pause:And its low to the ground to give the the sensation of blah blah blah... Read the article...
GMAN962 Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 No you just heard him wrong. He said there was a tunnel:pause:And its low to the ground to give the the sensation of blah blah blah... Read the article... He's talking about the video.
Carnage Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 That article was really written poorly. Sounds almost like something a high school student would write. Bryan Edwards, of Cedar Point, said one of the common questions why the park keeps builing rides. That sentence doesn't make any sense. I read it like 10 times trying to understand. I guess they were going for "Bryan Edwards, of Cedar Point, said one of the common questions is "why does the park keep building rides?".
cprocks22 Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 Just saw this on T.V, has anyone else seen the new Maverick spots? The only thing that sticks out to me is that they call it the worlds only terror coaster... . Also it looks like the "Prospector" is going to be a major character. EDIT: Also theres a new blog http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/fun/blog/index.cfm
Milkchan Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 Reading the end of that blog made me giggle like a school girl .
kennywood!007 Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 Their showing commercials here in Pittsburgh for the ride/park. Pretty much the whole commercial is focused on Maverick...lol
Eric_Smith Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 Reading the end of that blog made me giggle like a school girl .

EDIT: Also theres a new blog http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/fun/blog/index.cfm They're not calling it a terror coaster, they're calling it a terra-coaster... Terra as in terrain, I think.
Carnage Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 I don't know about everyone else, but a "terrain coaster" to me is a coaster which hugs hills, valleys, rivers, etc. Not a coaster built on flat ground which happens to spend alot of time right on the ground.
RedB Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 Anyone got a link to that commercial. I haven't seen it up here yet.
Milkchan Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 A new blog update with Maverick photos. http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/fun/blog/index.cfm
Eric_Smith Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 This is turning out very good. I have a feeling that it will be ready in time. This here is a serious head/hand chopper!!! Are they positive that my hands won't get chopped off?
spaminacan11 Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 ^Hmm..almost reminds me of a superman symbol on its side.. That will certainly give a crazy headchopper effect though. I am really liking how the ride is turning out so far.
Milkchan Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 New update in Maverick construction Gallery. http://maverick.cedarpoint.com/latest/gallery/ Is the queue really going to this small?
PKI Jizzman Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 The update is fantastic. With regards to the tunnel, will it totally be dark or will they have some type of lighting effect? From Tony & Tyler: The tunnel is still a surprise. In fact, we're not going to even mention it - you'll have to ride it and experience it for yourself! It will be wicked awesome. Ideas?
Carnage Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 Is the queue really going to this small? I'd guess that's only a portion of the queue.
