larrygator Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 RCDB also lists Expoland's Wild Mouse going to WalyGator in 2011
atem122 Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 Haha I just noticed that myself too. Sounds like a good move from the park standpoint, buying 2 major rides for cheaper than new, but still getting about the same effect as buying a new one.
Corkscrewball Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 "The Monster"? Did they receive help from Cedar Fair? Â They should have got help from Six Flags and named it Bizarro or Goliath
KPfreak519 Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 "The Monster"? Did they receive help from Cedar Fair? Â Would you rather have six flags name it Bizarro, Superman, or Terminator? Â They're all at least "more interesting" names than "The Monster" IMO...so yes...
matteocrepaldi Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 I haven't seen any construction update about this coaster around here lately so here's one! They just started to erect the lift hill. Also the supports outside the station are in place.
larrygator Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 It would be great if that crane "accidentally" dropped a couple of those supports on top of Anaconda.
cfc Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 ^That would be the greatest news in roller coaster history.
hansrubens Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 ^^ Â No I'm planning to get that credit mid april. Maybe I will say the same thing after I rode it. Â ---Hans
Bob! Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 They are actually building up Orochi (known as "The Monster"), and they also started painting some parts of the track. Let's take a look. Source : walybiz.fr
Kooky Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 the newest pic from http://img8.hostingpics.net/pics/363418100420101316.jpg, they really paint it, even if i don`t like the white-yellow color it looks better than the old ones.
SharkTums Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 It kind of looks like an egg with the white and yellow color scheme!
G$ Kurt Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Does anyone know if this ride had its epic fail of a break run entrance tweaked at all after how bad it turned out on Raptor? or is it the same?
Dragon Khan Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Don't worry, it's not supposed to stay this way but will sport yellow supports and black track, according to an interview given by the park owners.
robbalvey Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Does anyone know if this ride had its epic fail of a break run entrance tweaked at all after how bad it turned out on Raptor? or is it the same? I'm not sure what you mean. I've never noticed any problem on either Raptor or Orochi entering the brake run. Â --Robb
Zingoman Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Raptor has a pretty wicked snap coming out of the final turn into the brake run. It's really noticeable in the front row, but not bad towards the back. Everything I have ever heard and seen about Orochi gives me the impression that they did in fact fix that issue. It's more like a Batman approach. Very smooth.

DBru Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 I've never noticed any problem on Raptor entering the brake run. --Robb  You must be one of the few, Robb...
SharkTums Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 I never thought the 'Raptor Snap' was as bad as the 'Alpengeist Snap'!
willh51 Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 I remember being taken quite off guard the first time I rode Raptor when it entered the brake run. The first row literally whips the hell out of you, I absolutely loved it. It's not noticeable in the back at all. If I could find my Cedar Point trip report I'd post the paragraph I wrote about this infamous phenomenon.
SharkTums Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 That could explain it, I usually don't ride coasters in the front, but I know that Alpies entrance to the midcourse in the back is very violent so maybe it's comparable to Raptors final brakes in the front.
CorkscrewFoley Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 I'm one of the few who have no problem with the Raptor snap. Matter of fact, I always find that my head hits the restraints on the second corkscrew (wing over). Then again, I like being thrown around...
Zingoman Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 I like being thrown around too to a degree and the Raptor snap is no problem for me, however I do brace for the worst every time. haha. The Alpie midcourse snap is another VERY notable one. Doesn't seem to matter where you sit in the train for that one either.

The Alpie midcourse snap is another VERY notable one. Doesn't seem to matter where you sit in the train for that one either. Â It's kind of weird that I rode Raptor six years ago and still vividly remember it's Vekoma turn. I rode Alpie about two years ago in most rows and didn't remember any midcourse snap, however they were trimming it HARD at the top of the lift. I, too, watched the Youtube videos of Raptor and Orochi and they definitely changed that particular piece of track, the bend is unmistakably different.
hansrubens Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Hi all, Â Here's a construction update from Walygator. They planned to open the ride on april 10 but progress has been and is very slowly. I don't know when they gonna open it but I won't be surprised if it's somewhere in july or august. Â Parts of the coaster are all over the park and one single truck has search for the parts to pick them up. Â Anyhow pictures..... It looks if it's already open. Parts are everywhere. More parts next to Anaconda Truck getting some parts. Construction of the zero G roll. Piece being installed.
