Haha I just noticed that myself too. Sounds like a good move from the park standpoint, buying 2 major rides for cheaper than new, but still getting about the same effect as buying a new one.

"The Monster"? Did they receive help from Cedar Fair?

Would you rather have six flags name it Bizarro, Superman, or Terminator?

They're all at least "more interesting" names than "The Monster" IMO...so yes...

No I'm planning to get that credit mid april. Maybe I will say the same thing after I rode it.

They are actually building up Orochi (known as "The Monster"), and they also started painting some parts of the track.

Let's take a look.

Does anyone know if this ride had its epic fail of a break run entrance tweaked at all after how bad it turned out on Raptor? or is it the same?

Don't worry, it's not supposed to stay this way but will sport yellow supports and black track, according to an interview given by the park owners.

I'm not sure what you mean. I've never noticed any problem on either Raptor or Orochi entering the brake run.

Raptor has a pretty wicked snap coming out of the final turn into the brake run. It's really noticeable in the front row, but not bad towards the back. Everything I have ever heard and seen about Orochi gives me the impression that they did in fact fix that issue. It's more like a Batman approach. Very smooth.

That snap looks little bit smoother if you compare POV videos from YouTube, but of course videos can't really do justice.

You must be one of the few, Robb...

I remember being taken quite off guard the first time I rode Raptor when it entered the brake run. The first row literally whips the hell out of you, I absolutely loved it. It's not noticeable in the back at all. If I could find my Cedar Point trip report I'd post the paragraph I wrote about this infamous phenomenon.

That could explain it, I usually don't ride coasters in the front, but I know that Alpies entrance to the midcourse in the back is very violent so maybe it's comparable to Raptors final brakes in the front.

I'm one of the few who have no problem with the Raptor snap. Matter of fact, I always find that my head hits the restraints on the second corkscrew (wing over). Then again, I like being thrown around...

I like being thrown around too to a degree and the Raptor snap is no problem for me, however I do brace for the worst every time. haha. The Alpie midcourse snap is another VERY notable one. Doesn't seem to matter where you sit in the train for that one either.

It's kind of weird that I rode Raptor six years ago and still vividly remember it's Vekoma turn. I rode Alpie about two years ago in most rows and didn't remember any midcourse snap, however they were trimming it HARD at the top of the lift. I, too, watched the Youtube videos of Raptor and Orochi and they definitely changed that particular piece of track, the bend is unmistakably different.

Hi all,

Here's a construction update from Walygator. They planned to open the ride on april 10 but progress has been and is very slowly. I don't know when they gonna open it but I won't be surprised if it's somewhere in july or august.

Parts of the coaster are all over the park and one single truck has search for the parts to pick them up.

Anyhow pictures.....
